My room was clean but small. The double bed was pushed up against a wall so could only be accessed from 1 side. The room was also next to the lift so it was noisy upto about 1am and it started again at about 5am. So its was really a relaxing stay and it didnt give me a good nights sleep.

Lovely hotel and good food, and staff friendly, but the service provided lacks thought. No gluten free options available without arrangement although this is now pretty standard in hotels of this quality. Room service very expensive. I wasn’t asked on arrival if I wanted to authorise a credit card, so had to pay cash for room service. No hotel info in room so I had to look online to find times for breakfast, check out, etc., which took some time as they are not even in an obvious place on the website. Given the price, refreshments provided in room were pretty minimal- just tea and coffee, no biscuits, no bottled water.

I had the unfortunate experience to be in a room next to a room which was hosting a party in their room and in the hallway. The walls and doors did not maintain the sound very well, and it was like I was at a party I wasn't really invited to... I did complain several times to the front desk, but they were unable to end the party. The rooms were basic, but comfortable.

Checking was poor, very little interaction with receptionist, no how are you today, thank you for being an Accor member etc, no com0imemtary drink voucher given. Room was poor, steps between bathroom and sleeping area, it was an adventure to go to the bathroom in the night. Check out similar to check in- no interaction, was not asked how my stay was for example.

We were there for 3 nights and really liked the hotel and its position. The staff were very helpful all round although the man who checked us in at reception wasn't the best we've met. We do hope to return and I hope that the Marco pizza and pasta menu is improved. When we work away, which we do a great deal, we need to eat in our room as we have work to do. That room service menu was very limited particularly as I can't eat a lot of gluten. We were shown the Gluten Free menu but it was still full of carbohydrates and the only green vegetable was spinach! We did not like that at all.

Marriott Leicester is a fab accomodation but the sraff ruin your stay. They lack customer services capability. they are not welcoming, almost feel more important than the guest. You are not treated with respect or like a customer- it is really ridiculous. it takes at least 3 attempts to get the room service phone picked up and it rings for at least 5 minutes before it is picked up. Please sort this mess out.

Unfortunately I have left with not having a good experience. The breakfast staff and bar staff were an exception as they were very friendly, professional and welcoming , the main reason I haven't rated 1* For that I can only say well done. I had my car badly damaged in the hotel car park, what was a deal breaker, although the lady at the desk was friendly there was not much she could have done I am afraid. Although she offered a coffee or a drink and of course not to charge for the car park what was in my opinion the minimum it should be done . I did get back to my room around midday after leaving quite early that morning and my room was not ready, When I left in the afternoon, around 2pm I have kindly asked the same lady at the desk to arrange for my room to be ready upon my return later that afternoon , what she ensured it would be done. I returned at 6pm to get ready for dinner and for my surprise my room wasn't ready and i had a plastic bag hanging on my door with bed sheets /towels . I was disgusted by it. Speaking to the young gentlemen at the reception about it and asking to see the dusty manager, i wasn't surprised to hear that they did not have one, and that he would do his "best" to have it done. I got back late that night around 11-12pm to dee my room still dirty, with the rubbish overflowing the bin, no clean glasses to drink and just the towels changed. I cannot express how disgusted I was by it. Grand hotel? what was Grad about it?
