Booked for afternoon tea as my husband had recovered a voucher. Emailed to enquire about times and dealt with Vicky the events executive, who was helpful and organised the booking, took details of our voucher and asked about allergies When we arrived, we were seated and our name taken. The waitress then came back 5 minutes later to say no record of our booking (no idea why after several emails to book) but the chef would make it up and it would take about 10 minutes Just over 45 minutes after we were seated it arrived. Sandwiches nice, usual filings of egg, cheese, ham and tuna - nothing overly special. Nice little small scone. Cakes very disappointing - 3 tarts with different filing all with very thick sodgy pastry and 1 tiny coffee sponge. Have had several afternoon teas at different places with lovely selection of cakes, so this was quite a let down. Only good things - young girl waitress was lovely, very polite, very nice setting and grounds and we didn't have to pay as had a voucher!

The hotel is in nice surrounding. Staff are very welcoming. Cleaning could be improved. There was food under our breakfast table on our first morning and it was still there at dinner the next day. We as residents were not informed that a wedding was taking place on the Saturday. We arrived back at the hotel at 3.45pm we couldn’t use the bar, lounge, terrace or restaurant as the whole of the ground floor was being use by the wedding so we had to go to our rooms as there was no other provision for hotel guests.

All very satisfactory from the friendliness of all staff to the decor to the room cleanliness. Lovely location. We enjoyed a peaceful night sleep. The 3 course dinner was great value. The breakfast quality and choice also very good. Would have given a 10 if it was a bigger bed i.e. king size rather than double. I have booked plenty of double bedrooms where the bed was bigger.

The hotel had lovely staff and the food was very good. I would have liked a room lower down as we were on the 4th floor and there is no lift, unfortunately we only discovered that when we arrived of course, we struggled a bit as one of our party had a bad back. Other than that the stay was really nice.
