Staff were lovely and professional all through our stay. Didn’t feel that this was qualified to call it 4* hotel. Found the room a little shabby,carpet threadbare in places and curtains extremely stained. Pubic hair in bath which was not appreciated. Only one chair in room but another brought quickly on asking. Bed and pillows comfortable Wi-fi ok, breakfast nice with good choice. Evening meal in restaurant was awful. Soup tasteless, Veg over cooked to the point of being white and not pleasant Lamb chewey and “roast” potatoes were hardly coloured. Ribs quite tasty but clearly cook in the bag type,salad looked like it was past its sellby date, asked for a salad dressing ... poured this over my salad and almost chocked to death to find I had been given vinegar mixed with olive oil !! Swimming pool nice although floor quite slippery in the surrounding area. The staff are a credit to this place and are exceptionaly helpful. I don’t think I’d come back again until it has been refurbished certainly not my idea of 4* accommodation I’m Afraid to say

It was appropriate for our needs. Think hotel let down by dining room. Food was fine service slow crockery chipped on most occasions when we had dinner, far from what is expected in a 4 star hotel. That makes it sound poor the thing I liked least was the crockery.

Unfortunately when I went to run a bath before going to the ABBA tribute evening I found the hot water was not working, I contacted reception, the manager arrived and got working on the problem immediately. I could not take a shower as the showe head was also broken! I asked if we could be moved to another room, was told there were no rooms available. We had to wait for the problem to be sorted. We has travelled 330 miles, from SW Wales, 51/2 hours, so we were looking forward to a lovely soak in the bath. It put a damper on our visit. Once the water problem was sorted we did manage to have a quick bath! We also found the extractor fan in the bathroom was not working! Bad housekeeping!!

« First time of staying overall good but needs some TLC »

The staff were extremely helpful when checking in and ordering taxis. The hotel overall looked very dated from the outside and inside the hotel could do with some improvements. After reading some comments on trip advisor I was aware that the hotel is due for refurbishment and in the public corridors it definitey needed new carpets and repainting however over all I was happy. The breakfast was very good with plenty of everything to chose from. Our room was comfortable and clean and the bathroom was the same. I liked the iron/iron board being in the room a first for me. The air conditioner worked fine when we put it on. Although we did not use it room service was available for breakfast through to evening meal. So overall happy with our stay.

Disappointing stay, we have travelled extensively in France & stayed at this chain. Compared to its French counterpart this is not even on a level of Ibis Budget. Shabby, surly reception staff & basically not really fit for purpose.

As our company pays for us to stay there on a regular basis I,e the last 8 years and for almost 6 months of the year, the food is so irregular depending on who on (chef) 60% of the time if you were paying for it you would send it back, but as a lot of the time we don't get back until late, we just put up with it. Other than the food everything else is ok.

We had an enjoyable stay. Made a request to stay in the same room as our visit last year and the Reception team honured this request. The only thing I would say was the hotel rate had increased a lot since last years booking and will be looking out for any future special offers.

The hotel was great, the room was clean & tidy (more than 1 of the little pack of biscuits & some hot chocolate sachets would have been great lol). Swimming pool good, reception staff friendly. But,, breakfast was a disappointment- the staff were not especially polite, when i asled about bread i was told in quite a grumpy way that its coming. So i got my toast ready then couldnt find butter so asked & was told its in chilled area & i said i couldnt see it & was simply told its on a plate there - when i looked again i still couldnt see it so asked someone else who said 'its coming out soon'. So had my toast & butter, went to get hot food, but no eggs, waited & they came but then no beans, waited then they eventually came - other stuff getting cold, then there was no fried bread so waited for that - by then toast cold - eventually sat down to eat after 25 minutes. The butter was completely impossible to spread. My children being fussy eaters wanted croissants but there werent any, i looked at the menu & it said pain au chocolat & another type of pastry - bit there were none of these & when i asked for them the girl said there arent any as its bank holiday weekend & totally out. But this was breakfast at 9am on saturday - surely bank holiday is just an excuse - they could of been bought on the friday, does that mean that the unfortunate people who have breakfast on the monday would not just miss out on the best items on the menu but perhaps not even have any bread, bacon, eggs etc - just because "its bank holiday weekend". It was such a shame that breakfast let the rest of the stay down.
