« Disappointing »

The “spa” was closed of which we were not advised before arrival, this was our main reason for booking. The changing rooms were filthy, the swimming pool was unpleasant, the steam room was out of order. The food was alright but not what was expected from a 4* hotel

« Was a pleasureable experience. »

We where using the motel as a base for three days. In hindsight we should of bought breakfasts for each morning. Room was okay but needed a freshen up. Brighter main lights in the room would of been good. Overall was good and we will be back when next this way.

On the whole it was fine. However I did report twice that the toilet seat was broken and need to be repaired asap as a matter of safety but it was not done. One light in the bedroom was not working and was quite dark in that area.

« Lovely stay »

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Only a couple of minor issues - the steam room and jacuzzi were both out of order which you are not warned about on the website prior to staying. There also seemed to be low humming near our room which went on all night - I'm assuming it's a boiler or something - a bit annoying but not particularly loud.

« Birthday gift for friend »

The £20 extra for room was waste of money I thought it might of been a better & bigger room, so for £20 we got our robes and slippers already in room and a coffee machine , for what we got and what was working we could of just went to normal swimming bathes and get to use the floats if we wanted yours were padlocked up , in the pool one of the lights had a wire hanging out, the pool needs to be checked daily for thing like this very unsafe , sorry not a very good first experience

« Staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly »

A lovely stay, fantastic meals and friendly, helpful staff, especially the lady on reception who spoke French with us and Ernest in the dining area. Our pleasure to have met such nice people.

hotel in general good, menue of an evening in the resturant could do with some changes. basic foods ie, chicken, pork steak, lamb steak, fish with veg as not everyone wants fancy sauces, or to have to pay extra for veg.

« Disappointing »

Hotel is shabby in practically every area. Directional room signage poor. Soft furnishings from the 1990s. Tables and chairs in breakfast area dirty and sticky and actually so disgusting I sat on my cardigan.Breakfast overpriced for poor quality food. Comedians at comedy night were old fashioned in the Bernard Mannings style - not suitable for a modern audience. A joke about Downs Syndrome is not funny. Spiteful humour is the sign of a lazy, desperate comedian. I am surprised that you would endorse that type of entertainment.

« Very Good but could have been be better »

I stayed in a standard double and it was great, very spacious, bed was comfortable, nice view of the garden area from the window. However the bathroom, which was nice overall had some all spots of mould on the ceiling and some chips in the ceramic sink. It was also rather hot, air conditioning would have been much appreciated as the window doesn't open very far. We enjoyed the comedy night, comedians were very funny and the wait staff were great, just disappointed by the lack of variety in the good choices, I had looked at the menu online before booking the hotel and thought it was rather nice and some of the good sounded great but after booking the comedy night up it was limited to a budget or a curry. I understand that it's to make things easier and smoother for a larger audience at one time was just disappointed not to be able to enjoy the full menu.

« A very pleasant surprise! »

We were given a family room as we needed a ground floor room. We were travelling with two small dogs and the staff went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The room was very clean, extremely comfortable beds and spacious. It was quiet, well furnished and well equipped.

« Fine for 1 night »

The reception was very friendly and kindly booked a taxi for us. The hotel itself is tired and the room finish and cleanliness was not satisfactory. I do not like shower curtain in the bathroom. One towel was a bit dirty looking.

« Was very disappointed in the standard of the actual room and the noise level »

The reception staff were brilliant and upon arrival we felt it would be a lovely staff however this quickly changed when entering the room. When being in the room it felt like we was below a herd of Elephants the entire time, we was in room 119 and it may be there was a walk way or something above us but it completely ruined our stay, even with the TV on it was very distracting and throughout the night we both couldn't sleep as this kept waking us up, along with this if someone was walking past the room speaking it felt as if they was inside the room with us. I was very disappointed to say the least.

« Not really the standard of a 4 star hotel »

Having travelled over 300 miles to visit family I thought this hotel would be ideal for our short break. I stayed with my husband in October from Thursday evening for 3 nights. The room seemed OK, but the bathroom was a little dated. It was fairly quiet until 11pm when the Halloween celebrations continued outside below our window. The rest of the hotel was shabby with ripped vinyl chairs in the dining room, worn out furniture in the bar area, badly patched carpets throughout and quite large holes in the plasterwork. On Friday afternoon we decided to use the spa and was told at reception we should use our complementary bathrobes but there were none in the room, after further enquiries we were told by another member of staff "we did not qualify for them". The spa itself was not fully operational with some of the facilities out of order and it appears the jacuzzi had been covered over so not in use. The smaller of the pools had quite a lot of sand/grit in the bottom. Our experience in the dining room was surreal, coming down to breakfast to be greeted by 7 members of staff (more than there were clients and a bit intimidating). In the evenings the dining room was really cold with no heating (however it seemed to be set at tropical in the corridors) and we were told it could only be turned on by an engineer who didn't work weekends. However on Saturday an electric heater was produced making little difference to the overall temperature, the only glimmer of ambience were the fairy lights that adorned every wall. When we came to check out I could not be shown or given the bill as there were no printers working. I am disappointed as I was expecting more from a hotel of this calibre.

great check in experience , receptionist was very friendly and efficient , but she was let down by poor diner experience. The receptionist had explained we could dine off of a set £22 menu or have that amount off the A La Carte menu and she arranged for someone to deliver both menus to our room. The chap who delivered them also explained about the choices. We then sat and decided on what we were going to order. When we got to the restaurant we were informed that we could only eat off the set menu as they were busy and there was a problem with the gas?????

One night stay half board. Everything was good, service, room, restaurant. Hotel is a little old fashioned in its decor and may be due for a refurbishment.

To whom it may concern I’m very disapointed with the stay myself and my boyfriend had with yourselves. The pool was freezing cold, the steam room was out of order. The room was ok, not much in it but as for the bed! Wow! For a four poster bed it was so hard and uncomfortable. The food was ok but not 4 star hotel standard we had expected. I await your response
