« Lovely hotel shame about the bathroom »

Good hotel nice room but our bathroom needs attention. We did tell reception on our check out as we didn't want any fuss whilst we were there.

« Check-in slow, hotel feeling tired »

It took 25 mins (yes I timed it) to check in, standing in the front reception. And there was only 3 guests in front of us checking in. It took that long to check them in 3 guests. Apart from that, all ok. Hotel is feeling tired and a little dated. I feel a Premier Inn would have been better value. To be able to use the pool would of swung it, but it was closed. A shame as that is why I booked this hotel over others locally. Breakfast wasn't great either. I know help your self fried breakfasts in hotels is never that good, but we had breakfast at 7.15am so it should have not felt like it had been kept warm for hours. But I pulled a long hair out of the baked beans tray and the beans were stuck together in lumps, like it has sat for hours on too much heat, which wasn't the case. Unless they were re-heated from previous day! Sausages were good though.

« Ok I suppose »

The swimming pool was never available as it was always full of children. A tower fan isn't aircon.

« Nice Hotel! »

Nice hotel, friendly staff. Hotel breakfast was good for a self service buffet with plenty of staff on hand but were more intent on chatting to each other than topping up the buffet. Swimming pool was used by outsiders for children's swimming lessons which spoilt our experience.

« Very Disappointed »

- Customer service very poor, no one available to see us to our rooms - Hotel not very clean and very dated, futniture broken in the room - The Spa facilities not working, childrens swimming lesson taking place. We was not informred we chose the hotel for a romantic relaxing stay - The pool area was dirty and very dated, the steam room was not working, the jacuzzi was cold and was used as a warm up pool for the kids taking the swimming lesson - The hotel restaurant was being refurbished so we was taken to a hall, we was not greeted upon entrance and waited 10 mins to be seated - The food was of poor quality, the pizza looked and tasted like a frozen pizza - Very poor customer service for breakfast, and it was very dirty, the stock was not kept fresh so we constantly had to ask for items to be added e.g. bread, milk. The spoon used for the beans had a long black hair the two ladies working there walked past multiple times and did not noticed or clean. I informed the lady who looked like she took it personally and did not apologies and proceeded to just replace the spoon but left the beans that had clearly been contamined. - The hotel felt like a deserted place, barley any staff, waiting at the bar for at least 10 mins for a drink. - Worst of all this was a wedding gift a red letter day gift, which was ruined, the images displayed on the website are very misleading and I cannot believe red letters associate themselves with this hotel

« Booked via Wowcher to celebrate our anniversary. »

We booked an overnight stay to celebrate our anniversary and had an enjoyable stay. It has to be said that the hotel is looking a little tired /dated however is clean and the staff were keen to please. We had afternoon tea that was lovely apart from the sandwich bread being slightly stale. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food & service could not be faulted. The room itself was presented to a high standard and the bed was most comfortable. The indoor swimming pool was lovely and warm but not to my partners liking as its depth is 1.5 meters all round, too deep for my partner. The hotel would benefit form new outside furniture as the existing is quite tatty.

My husband book an accessible room explaining I used an wheelchair/ electric scooter. On arrival my hUsbnd confirmed the room was ok for me he was told yes . What we got was a double room on the ground floor no grap rails in the bathroom , hardly any room to move and a massive problem with getting my scooter in and out it was hard work. I was there 3 days without a blath or shower as I was unable to get in the bath. When we mentioned this to reception we were told ...you have a double room on the ground floor .....further conversation followed we were then told no other room was available as they were fully booked!!!!! We managed as I can walk a little if that was different they’re is no way we could of stayed there and part of our holiday would of been ruined. The whole experience of the room made hard for both myself and my husband. Would be a good move for someone to look at Premier Inns accessible rooms they are amazing .

« Functional »

Room was fine. Breakfast was an unpleasant experience. Firstly we were asked to sit anywhere. There were no tables set up for 3 or 4 people. We then sat at the end on a row of tables where a place had been set at the end of the table so my 2 children and me could sit together. I got breakfast for the children and was sorting out my own when a French man came over at the coffee machine and told me I had to move myself and my children as he had a party of 20 who wanted that space. I told him I was asked to sit anywhere and that the seating was not reserved. He started insisting and being demanding and arrogant. I said that he should take it up with the hotel. I said that I would move my party but that he had no right to demand that I do and that I had as much right to be there as him. Indeed his party of grown adults I am sure could have adapted and overcome more easily than one parent juggling 2 children. He didn’t seem to fully comprehend that I was giving him what he wanted. He muttered something unrepeatable in French. I told him I spoke French. Anyway he stormed off to complain to the staff whilst I decamped my family mid-way through their breakfast under the gaze of the victorious tour party which was humilitating. There remained plenty of seats for his party at this point and all subsequent relevant times. I moved to the only non two person table - a round table set for 8. Unfortunately we couldn’t sit here as the table and chairs had been overrun by ants. The staff eventually assisted us in pulling two other tables together where we finished breakfast. Ultimately this issue stemmed from the arrogance of a tour party who felt they had exclusive use of the hotel. I have seen this happen before where one group dominates a hotel with their numbers. If there was reserved seated, then a) the staff should have said as much, b) a reserved notice could have been put on the table and c) alternative tables could have been set up for families as opposed to couples. Given the experience (which I was not asked about on check-out), I would welcome your views on compensating me for the throughly embarrassing and unpleasant experience I endured. Things can go wrong, but customer service can do a lot to establish positive brand experience.
