Wonderful staff who were always attentive throughout meals, check-in process and using the facilities. Great pool and sauna. Good breakfast and restaurant food was good. Well priced too. Rooms could do with a bit of an update but still very comfortable.

The staff were nice and very helpful, dinner and breakfast were nice as were the rooms. However the spa let the hotel down. The steam room wasn’t working and the pool was filthy and looked nothing like the pictures advertised.

Very welcoming friends birthday they organised fruit platter dinner was good except I wanted to have Thai curry without the chicken the waiter went to ask cook but he said he could not make with out chicken I was quite disappointed as was looking forward in having something different from Indian also bedroom had cobwebs above bed found it uncomfortable to get to bed The next day breakfast was really good but when we went to use spa the steam room was not working this was about 10.00 am we had to check out and I reported this to front desk twice and as we were about to leave spa as there were swimming lessons also going on and no steam room working at 10.45 we went to check the steam room it was beginning to steam up so we stayed another 40 mins but would have appreciated if it was working in the morning before we went in like the other dry sauna as wasted time finally checked out at 12.05 Staff were helpful in giving map of town

The hotel its self is fine, staff are friendly enough. However I had stayed for work reasons meaning I had to spend a lot of time in the room on the laptop. Couldn't order room service as no one ever answered the phone when I tried. There was long black hair in the bath, parking wasn't the best. Other than that it's an ok hotel.

not a spa hotel

not great, this is billed as a spa hotel and it definitely isn't, old and dirty pool area with a sauna that (according to members) hasn't worked since Christmas. Mess up with our account - couldn't find our payment but at least staff apologised and sorted as quickly as possible stale smoke smell in room - reported twice and staff did not even investigate

Overall it was a good stay, with nice room, diner and breakfast and friendly waiter/waitresses. However I thought it was unusual that the only way to pay for diner was through credit on my room. I was then overcharged for diner, it was presumed I would tip £5 and I was charged twice for my room. I understand mistakes can be made on receipts, however to be overcharged on three different things made me feel I was being scammed and the hotel was trying to get as much money from me as possible. If I hadn't spend a long time at check out questioning the bill I would have been charged over £100 more than I should have. This isn't acceptable and is more than a small 'mistake'

Friendly staff but very tired interior and average food

We thought the hotel has a lot of potential but it needs a refurb. The receptionist was great and offered us a choice of 3 rooms but the decor in each was very tired. The dining room has no ambience and the food was average at best. You need to give the hotel a major overhaul.

Dont know why there were so many bad reviews when i looked but we had a lovely stay. The room was spotless really comfy bed. The staff were lovely nothing too much trouble and the food was excellent. We were on a deal with a free bottle prosecco but neither of us like it but they swapped it for a bottle of wine no problem. Will definitely stay there again

A time of refreshment and enjoyment

It was a lovely over night break with my mother, sister and sister-in-law. We thoroughly enjoyed using the spa in the evening as it was very peaceful. The rooms were clean (could do with some repainting) and the hotel workers were very friendly. As well as this, the food was delicious and the drinks were refreshing. There was an instance when a dish was not up to the usual standard, however this was quickly rectified and I was left highly satisfied. The overall experience was great.

I booked a 30 minute massage for myself and another for my adult son, one directly after the other. When I told the masseuse I had scabies two weeks before then - it’s an occupational hazard when you’re a nurse - she phoned a pharmacist to seek advice. The pharmacist advised the masseuse not to treat me based on the “risk” of getting scabies from me... despite my advising on the treatment I’d undergone and when I would and not be a risk and advising to visit the NHS Choices for clinical advice on infectivity. She still refused. Then when my son went to get his treatment, she barely opened the door and refused to treat him too. My son has never had scabies. I booked our stay on my son’s behalf; a mother’s day treat from him gone terribly sour, exacerbated by my son overhearing the masseuse retelling the tale to a hotel staff member in the spa at the time.

I think that there was a mix-up with our rooms: we had been booked a double room, according to Julie K., and we, or she, were intended to take over a room vacated by Ross Barber, although the bedding had not been changed - she used the other bed in that room, to resolve the problem.

Front desk was wonderful and helpful in some things. Perhaps some quick knowledge of local buses would add a local touch. Room was very clean and well presented. People in the restaurant need to pay more attention to the customers. Spa was clean. Turkish dry heat room was out of order for both days. Dealing with vouchers need to be attended so that customers feel comfortable.

Better than expected. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Ernest who works in the restaurant was an absolute delight. We plan on returning to this hotel, purely because of the excellent service we received from this lovely man. He went above and beyond to make our experience wonderful. He managed to sort out a mock birthday cake completely unexpectedly after I left my boyfriend's cake at home. This man enjoys his job and you can clearly see that. The room was clean, the bed was really comfortable and the facilities and food was excellent.
