Prior to my trip I was prompted by the hotel to check in online with the benefit being that I would get priority check in on arrival and my key would be ready after 12pm. When I arrived I was told that in fact I would have to wait until the regular check in time. The reception was empty and no one was checking in at the same time as me. When I explained that I'd availed of the priority check in service I was told it didn't matter and rather than offer me the next available room they insisted that I come back later. I explained that I wanted to leave my bag in the room and freshen up before leaving again but that did not matter. I was instructed that I could use a bag room to leave my bag at which point they half pointed in the general direction of the bag room. I had to ask another staff member closer to the room to confirm if I was going in the right direction. When I went to check in later that evening I was asked to write out all of the details I had filled in online the previous night for the online check in which made your online check in a completely and utterly pointless service and only served to make me quite annoyed given that I had a long day, had no chance to freshen up because you'd no rooms available at the time you stated and then asked me to spend 10 minutes checking in at the hotel. Breakfast the following morning was poor. They had confirmed that the hotel was fully booked that night yet let quite a lot of the food run out of supply by the time any guests arrived down for a late breakfast. I fail to understand why a hotel offers breakfast between certain hours but tells guests they should have been down earlier to avail of a better service. So effectively you're telling guests that breakfast is between X and Y times but we'll only provide adequate service for half that time.

Fiendly staff. Hotel very conveniently located for Alexanderplatz and all public transport. Some attention to detail needed due to poor maintenance of the electric al equipment in the room.

The room had a great size and was nice and clean. During our stay it was very hot and it would have been nice to have had a small refrigerator in the room. It would also have been nice to have had two small chairs at the balcony. In the lobby there is only one toilet and when a new bus is arriving at the same time one bus is leaving that is insufficient.

Excellent location of local transport. Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious and comfortable room with individual decorations and private balcony. A cooling fan was provided when requested. The breakfast selection was five-star (by far the best I can remember in any Accor Group hotel I've visited. Thank you - we'll be coming back!

Hotel is located at the very busy junction with no air conditioning. During summer it is impossible to sleep there. Either there is 40 degrees in the room or there is extreme noise from the street with lot of sirens driving around.

We stayed twice at this hotel, before a holiday on the Baltic and Denmark. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was large and modern. My only criticism would be that there is no aircon and despite an opening window and a balcony it was very hot and noisy with emergency vehicles throughout the night. The room price is very reasonable but I thought that 18 euros was quite expensive.

Dated room and dated corridoors with a funky aroma, inconsistent with the reception and breakfast room which were fairly neat and modern. Overall an OK stay. Housekeeping did come in before 10am whilst I was in the shower, which was somewhat awkward as the signage stated no disturbances would occur before 10am. One member of reception was particularly frosty and a little hostile, but most of the team were helpful and friendly. The elevator is soon to be out of action according to signs, and should you be in the 9th floor during that time, be prepared for a workout.

Reception staff not polite at all and not helpfull. I asked to order me taxi and was not done in case of that I was late for my very important meeting. During breakfast list with the names and rooms numbers are kept officialy on the stand so everyone can see it. What about GDPR policy. My data is really official in this hotel and nobady care about this. I asked breakfast host to hide but I heard the answer that is hotel policy. Staff not helpful at all.

From the outside the hotel looks tired and and is in what looks like a run down part of town. Inside is better although the rooms need updating from the brown decor. Good bathrooms, shower and comfy beds. Surprised to have a kettle in the room but a travel one so took ages to boil. Breakfast was better than expected with a wide variety of choice. Not as close to the centre as I thought but tram line outside. No air-con which was an issue as the weather turned very hot so the windows had to be open which made the road noise very disturbing especially the sirens that were frequent. Good views of the Berlin Tower from the balcony. Staff pleasant enough and lockers for left luggage. Maid entered the room without waiting for approval at 9am on day of departure which wasn't appreciated when checkout is by noon! Overall a pleasant enough stay but improvements would be needed if I were to stay again.

The front desk employees are very nice and helpful. The breakfast employees too. Room is clean The only thing that not really so nice is the view to the old building next to the hotel.

Friendly staff, don't know what was happening with the lift controls. Room needs redecorated. Room smelled of smoke. People next door were loud and we had 2 single beds rather than a double.

Firstly, my taxi driver didn't know the hotel. When we discovered it, he snorted and said that's not on Alexanderplatz. So be warned, it is a good walk to the Platz. No chance of an early check-in, no sympathy either. The lockers for left luggage do give a good sense of security. Carpets in the halls were really scruffy with stains etc. Room was okay, but I expected more from a Mercure. Good to see bottles on the wall for soap, but why little bottles too, if there are only the ones on the wall better for environment. 2 euro for a bottle of water in the room, most hotels I stay in offer at least one bottle of water for free. 19 Euro for breakfast!!!!! Good that the bottles were glass. Good for recycling. Cigarette butts on the balcony of my supposed no smoking room. Don't dare complain, the staff will show very little sympathy. Customers seemed to be an irritation rather people to be welcomed. Wifi pretty good but does not allow for a VPN to be used. Not great for the business traveller. I booked this hotel on the reputation of Mercure but it did not live up to the ones I have stayed in in other cities. It says it has three stars but I think it might have stolen one of them.

An early check in we can only allow for availability. If all the rooms have been booked, then it is not always possible to offer this service - every guest can use his room until 12 o'clock. We ask for your understanding, that this request of an Early Check In is only possible on availability. Our internet is on the latest security. The mentioned VPN connection is a conclusion of your restricted security settings of your company. Unfortunately, we can not make any changes here. Room was large and bed comfortable. Bathroom shower cubicle was broken and shower head falling off the wall, and the toilet blocked. Car parking at 17 € is very expensive.
