The swimming pool staff with the purple uniform is not helping at all, he just standing and watching, when i come to him asking for the towel, he said the towel isn’t available yet, after the towel is ready he come to me to tell the towel is ready and ask me to pick it up by myself, and he just doin nothing. But other than that it was as a expected.

Hi Mercure Hotel, This was my first time staying in Mercure Hotel so I would like to share my experience for staying in your hotel. First of all, the reason why I stayed in Mercure Palu is I heard that this is the best hotel in Palu, the best choice to celebrate my fiancee's birthday on Nov 17th! :) But my check-in experience was a bit dissapointing. I booked the room from Traveloka and have put a note for non-smoking room. I also have called Mercure 2 days before D-day to ensure my booking has been confirmed. But turned out I can only get smoking room and the receptionist staff said he cannot do anything. What a joke! I have booked my room since 2 months before but I didn't get what I paid for? But then, Ms. Nelsha, room manager, (sorry if it's wrong spelling) helped me to get the non-smoking room by upgraded it to priviledged room and solve my problem quickly. Thank you so much! I stayed for 3D2N in Mercure Palu and feel satisfied with the room quality. My input is more on the staff hospitality. I noticed that not all of your staffs greet your guest or even smile at your guest. I smiled at the security guard but He didn't response same happens for the waiters in the restaurant. I don't know if this is the local culture or not, but I'm sure every hotel usually train their staffs to give at least a smile to your guest. :) I compared with Santika Hotel in Palu, their staffs were amazing. They smiled and welcoming me like their own family. That makes me, as a guest, feel home. Maybe you can learn from them. That's all from me.
