« Nice but a little pricey »

We had a lovely stay at the resort, the staff was nice and the view was amazing but for the type of room we stayed in and what was included the cost was a little pricey. I believe we were paying for the name of the hotel and the view. We wouldn't stay again, unless managed to get a coupon or something, as for what we paid we could almost have a week holiday in other areas.

I stayed this hotel 3 nights. Receptionist is kind and helpful. I appreciate it. Ember, a restaurant, serves impressive food. My daughter loves it, even though she is just 7 years old. Pool is also great. If I visit Blue Mountain again, I'll choose here again.

staff, as always, excellent and obliging. Room comfortable, food great. Account under my door INCORRECT, billing me for something I had already booked and pre-paid for. Not impressed by this, however staff at reception sorted it out quickly. Now wondering if and when I get my points for the stay credited to my account?

People very nice and friendly, the hotel was a little jaded and needed attention, particularly the pool area. Our room was so so. The restaurant was awful, service very slow, food poor, not the waitresses fault when you only have two serving and one of them is serving behind the bar they cannot be faulted and they were so nice, but would definitely not eat there again

I am sorry that your stay did not meet expectations at every level; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. At the Fairmont, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every guest throughout all levels of their stay; therefore your feedback is very important to us. I wanted to take this opportunity to advise you that the Fairmont is currently going through massive improvements as we approach 30 years later this year. All attempts are being made to make these changes without impacting guests, whilst being tastefully carried out and supportive of our brand. We also have some amazing upgrades either done or about to be done including brand new beds in every room (complete), new Sony TV’s placed for every room (complete), conference rooms have just been refurbed, new carpets commenced in every room (over 50% complete, remainder to be finalised by the end of next month), new chairs recently went in Embers and Eucalypt Restaurants, new furniture for Sublime is due shortly, new Sauna at Indoor Pool just completed, a brand new gymnasium underway and a new world class Day Spa opening later this year. We are also completely renovating the outdoor pool, as you had pointed out it is looking a little tired, including repainting, re- tiling and refreshing the surrounding areas as well as installing a café to serve our guests poolside. This will be completed prior to next Summer. All these will contribute to bringing the property back to its former iconic glory. I have also shared your comments, and apologise to you, regarding your dining experience with both our Exectuive Chef as well as our Restaurant Manager. This is not reflective of our usual standards I assure you and we thankyou for taking the time to bring this to our attention. The ladies at reception were very helpful, our room was beautiful, the food was amazing, we dined in the embers restaurant, we used the pool area.. it could of done with a clean but overall a nice area, the only slight complaint I would say is we stayed on Valentine’s days.. only you wouldn’t think it was as there was no signs to say happy Valentine’s Day or not even a little note in the room with a few heart chocolates would have even been a nice touch, if I’m paying $386 a night to stay in a room for Valentine’s Day I’m sure a couple of heart chocolates & a nice note saying thank you for staying with us on Valentine’s Day...

« Quiet and peaceful with friendly staff remaining mostly in the background. »

On arrival pushed our own luggage to room from entry. We stayed in a 3rd floor King room #348 Tues. and Wed. nights. It was spacious but sparsely furnished (a couple of paintings would have been nice). I'm sure we landed in a room still to be refurbished. There was no complimentary robes nor slippers provided. We dined at Embers both nights as the other venues were disappointingly closed. The food was presented well, but cooking below par for +4 star. It would appear that all facilities are available at weekend peak.

« We were very excited to be upgraded to the Dalai Lama suite. »

We had won the upgrade and also a complimentary bottle of wine. The only down side was that the toilet bin had not been emptied that had contained a used tampon. A 3/4 bottle of wine had been left in the fridge and the sensor light in the bathroom not working properly down sides we had a wonderful time at the Fairmont. We dined at the Embers Bar where our food was cooked to perfection. The fillet steak was very tender and not overcooked and my barramundi was delicious. The staff were all very attentive and friendly.

1. Fridge barely worked and leaked 2. What was meant to be a king bed was 2 singles pushed together and made one was hugher than the other and had the ridge sticking in our back 3.parking was a joke had to walk miles to get up to hotel not pleasant when you have an injury 4. Hot Food at breakfast always seemed cold or like warm or had been sitting there for ages 5. Due to a conference being conducted was not the peaceful experience found to be loud particularly at breakfast wouldn't attempt an evening meal there due to the noise Probably won't be back

We do pride ourselves on providing only the highest quality of product and service which we appear to have fallen down on on this occasion. I wanted to assure you that I have personally discussed each area with the relevant manager including our Maintenance Manager regarding your in room fridge, our House Keeping Manager regarding your bed (we have recently replaced all of our beds with bran dnew 'My Sofitel' luxury Sleepmaker beds and are unsure why they were different heights - we are looking into this as soon as possible. It is standard practice to have two single beds that are made to fit together to make a king sixe bed with a pillow topper to ensure no ridge - I am so sorry this was not in place during your stay - highly irregular and being looked into immediately by our team). We are in the process of constructing new additional car parking facilities and once our Day Spa building is complete this will also open up additional car spaces closer to reception - our apologies for the inconvenience in the interim. The noise issues with the conference are indeed a rarity here at the Fairmont and we are so sorry for the impact this had on your stay. Laura, in light of your review and your stay, we would like to offer you complimentary breakfast and a complimentary upgrade to one of our suites next time you book (please include this email at time of booking). Please book though myself, the offer does not have a validity and is simply subject to availability. A brand new gymnasium is about too open, we are also working on a 16 treatment room Day Spa facility due to open this year as well.
