I stayed for a weekend with my two young children and the Fairmont exceeded my expectations. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and all the attractions for both children and adults were amazing. You almost don’t even need to leave the resort.

I am sorry that your stay did not meet expectations at every level; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. At the Fairmont, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every guest throughout all levels of their stay; therefore your feedback is very important to us. I apologise that you found the parking confusing - certainly not our intention or our want for you to start your stay on a negative note. I have advised our team to be sure wherever possible to advise guests to drive to reception to drop luggage with our concierge team prior to parking to avoid carrying luggage up and to ensure it is in our reservation confirmations. We are also working on additional car spaces closer to reception as part of our rejuvenation programme. I wanted to take this opportunity to advise you that the Fairmont is currently going through massive improvements as we celebrated our 30th anniversary at the beginning of this month. All attempts are being made to make these changes without impacting guests, whilst being tastefully carried out and supportive of our brand. The amazing upgrades, either done or about to be done, include brand new beds in every room (complete), new Sony TV’s in every room (complete), conference rooms have just been refurbed, new carpets commenced in every room (over 90% complete, remainder to be finalised within the next few weeks), soft furnishingsin rooms to follow, new chairs recently went in Embers and Eucalypt Restaurants and Sublime, new Sauna at Indoor Pool just completed, a brand new gymnasium underway and our new world class Day Spa opened on 13 August 2018! We have also now completely renovated the outdoor pool area including repainting, re- tiling and refreshing the surrounding areas and working on some additional outside activities as well. We really enjoyed the hotel and the staff where great, a little disappointed in the meals. We ate at Embers and at the breakfast buffet. The food was not as special as we were hoping. The breakfast buffet seemed to offer a lot, but maybe was spread too thin as most hot food was cold and the selection of fruits was very basic.

MFrin the warm, smiling staff who greeted us, too our comfortable room and the amazing food with that spectacular view the night away was terrific. We had a fabulous night sleep as the beds were super comfy.... enjoyed every mouthful of the yummy seafood buffet and the breakfast buffet. Service was great, staff friendly and helpful.

My Brother died suddenly on Oct 5th We arrived at Port Macquarie on the 11 to an emotional and extensive period of sorting his funeral, estate, contacting the charities he had supported as per his will. We booked the Fairmont expecting to enjoy a few days rest before our return to the UK . Instead we found that the Fairmont had still not reached it's potential since our last stay in 2012. We werenot told at booking that extensive work was still taking place . So:- Arrived 9pm, unloaded and retired to bed Breakfast excellent but then hotel grounds restricted (as was in 2012) and outside pool shut as a work zone. Found the only evening restaurant was over loaded, Chefs signature dish took a long time to arrive, was only warm and cold by time the meal was completed I did mention this to the staff. Next day noted the same poor quality meals among other diners. Access to the hotel surrounds were restricted by the work.. Only good point was that Josephine on resorption did show the standard of care and attention we have come to expect from the Accor group Arrived at 8.55 pm after a long day Room ok on 2nd floor Breakfast was excellent Returned to Hoy

Firstly, our sincere condolences for the sudden passing of your brother - an extremely emotional and exhausting time for you all. I completely understand that you were in need of a relaxing and restful stay with us here and I apologise sincerely that we let you down in this regard. Certainly far from our intention and from our normal excellent level of service and product. I also wanted to take this opportunity to advise you that the Fairmont is currently going through massive improvements as we approached 30 years in August. The owner has invested millions of dollars since 2012 and some amazing new additions and improvements have been made, with more to come. All attempts are being made to make these changes without impacting guests, whilst being tastefully carried out and supportive of our brand. The amazing upgrades, either done or about to be done, include brand new beds in every room (complete), new Sony TV’s in every room (complete), conference rooms have just been refurbed, new carpets commenced in every room (over 90% complete, remainder to be finalised in November), soft furnishings and window coverings in rooms to follow, new chairs recently went in Embers and Eucalypt Restaurants and Sublime, new Sauna at Indoor Pool completed, a brand new gymnasium underway and our new Ubika Day Spa opened on 13 August 2018!. We have also completely renovated the outdoor pool area including repainting, re- tiling and refreshing the surrounding areas which opened earlier this month. The resort has a number of dining outlets and we are careful to promote their opening nights on our website. We are constantly looking into this based on guest demand so appreciate your feedback, thank you and our apologies that your dining experience was not reflective of our usual excellent service or standard levels. From the moment we entered the foyer we felt we were in a Canadian ski lodge. Loved the exposed beams, the pitched roof, the lighting in the Embers restaurant. All the staff were very pleasant and hospitable. Our room was immaculately clean. Bed comfy. Tv operation was a little difficult to understand.

Certainly lived up to it's reputation as a class resort, every thing was first class, spacious room, mountain views, great food and excellent and friendly staff. No hesitation on recommending the Fairmont.

« A relaxing short stay. »

A relaxing short stay in a lovely large room with wonderful balcony. Only downer was booking a table in dining room in the evening only to have our table queried then put on a table for 4 away from window . We could see available 2 people tables and subsequently saw others who hadn’t,t booked put at these tables. Did complain to manager but put a slight dampener on our evening away. Most staff were really pleasant and eager to please.
