The hotel is situated in a perfect place, you can walk by foot to the nice streets, close to the restaurants, the room is basic but you won't like to spend time in the room - rather go to see more and more of this beautiful city. We decided to stay longer and enjoy the city.

Surprised that this is the only hotel I’ve known that has no hand towels or access to ice machines nor Coffee pot in the room.

PROS/GOOD: Excellent location for exploring many popular attractions [funiculars, hills, steps, etc.] Views of the Bay/Sea and hillsides. Windows seem to have good soundproofing. CONS/BAD: The North [East] rooms sit ABOVE the end of the Metro train tracks, and can be heard [somehow, not felt] when trains enter/leave the terminal. Gratefully, the trains are only 2 cars long, so 4 sets of thumps aren't terribly upsetting, but they do come several times an hour. After hours, Late night music [unknown outdoor source] can be heard. – Thin room doors/walls allow all sound in/out [wood floors, wood doors]. Even though most of the furniture (excluding the desk chairs) have carpeted/felted padding to slide on the wooden floors, Housekeeping is noisy [apparently, works all day], bangs, does heavy sliding and the rubbing can still be heard a floor down and from neighboring rooms. -- Check-in [afternoon] seems to be a rush [try to do it online as there's a dedicated line for that at the hotel]. Also, on several days, loud bangs were heard repeatedly [not from the trains, more like laundry bins or tubs being loaded several floors below, or linen closets or room doors being slammed repeatedly] ... for hours. SUGGESTIONS: Double-check the emergency stairwell for lighting and door handle hardware [was missing/inoperable during my visit].

When I entered room it was still occupied/ not clean. Quick replacement. Window full of bird droppings (can happen anytime but it looked it was there for some time). Nice view. Coffee machine needs a check up ( or change to nespresso). Staff friendly. Breakfast suffiencent . Value for money

The location is perfect for me, since it’s right in the center and port, where institutions tend to be. That’s where the good things end though. The hotel is very outdated (despite being not that old), carpets are dirty and old, TVs are old and have very poor signal, the staff from the restaurant is the worst I have experienced (particularly a lady with green eyes), elevators look lime they are going to fall off. They removed the bidets (don’t know why), towels are disintegrating (with a few exceptions that seem to be renovating). Power outlets are far away from where you need them.

I love to stay with you, because even I didn’t have a credit card, my booking was ok. (I paid when I arrived to the hotel) The staff on the phone and at the hotel, were very nice and kind. The room was comfortable and super clean. The view of the port and street amazing. I also like the location, because the hotel is super easy to find for tourist and the price is fair.

Stayed while working in port

The hotel is very convenient for work in the port, also to get into Valparaiso for dinner. There does need to be an upgrade to the windows, which do little to block sound from outside. In our group both those on the port side and the street side had trouble sleeping due to the outside noise. Accepting that the IBIS is a spartan and simple hotel, the bed is comfortable, so it would be great to be Abe to sleep.

Everything is about the standard for Ibis hotels and it was good value for money. I paid to have a 'Harbour View' room, this turned out to be a mistake because there is no mention of ships being unloaded 24 hours a day less than 100 metres from the window with the associated high noise levels; I believe that this needs highlighting.

Roaming around Valparaiso historic hills made me understand Íbis building style and colours. Used to stay in Íbis usual buildings like Porto Alegre and Santiago, it was very nice to feel the amazing identity right inside the harbour operational área. It will be hard to forget the beautiful sunset followed by the full moon. What a pity Íbis does not offer frigobar and a small set of kitchen aid inside the room - that was larger than usual in Valparaiso. And yes, the breakfast did not fit Valparaisos'building charming style.
