« wonderful place »

Very beautiful room, overlooking the university and trees. Very friendly service. The main challenge was how busy it was for breakfast, it was hard to navigate the food and coffee. But other than that, the reception area was lovely. The chef's surprised me with chocolate treats in my room every day. I would definitely stay here again. Also the front desk staff, especially Paris, were really lovely and helpful.

I stay at this hotel frequently, and the service was generally excellent as usual. The only issue was that my credit card got charged for my room and breakfast when it was pre-paid, and this has not yet been paid back to me. I hope this can be avoided in the future.

Excellent customer service. Nice lobby. Clean room however Room dated. Room service food dismal - watery packet soup and vegetables with no salt,garlic or butter. Conference food the worst I’ve ever had. If I wasn’t paying 300/ night I would be more accepting but it just didn’t justify the cost. Breakfast was very good however. Really excellent staff. Extremely accommodating

Always welcomed by the concierge and treated like a family member by the reception staff. All the staff that know us greet us by our names and seem genuinely pleased we have returned. Lounge food was lovely as always,but wasn’t drinking this trip apart from lemonade. Rooms were clean and my only complaint is the coffee machine doesn’t have a milk machine with it.

It was our first time to stay at the Pullman Hotel in Auckland with my parents who are having a holiday here in New Zealand. The room was not overly priced, as we have upgraded to a Junior Suite. I love the Pullman, the staff are fantastic, very courteous and efficient. The food is great and the facilities nice. It’s not too far to the Main Street shopping and close to the stadium for concerts. I do think the rooms while nice are starting to look a bit dated.

Not good. 1. Check in was at 12pm. I checked in online and arrived after 12pm but had to wait at least an hour for the room to be ready. 2. The room was fine and the decorations were nice, There were no blankets so had to request this in the evening and waited mins for this to arrive. 3. Breakfast was not good, there were a lot of cross contamination in the buffet where guests would pickup bacon strips and use the same tongs for smoked salmon, did not enjoy breakfast. 4. During check out was advised about the caprark charges and we checked out was advised I will get an email copy of the invoice. 5. Received the invoice and I found that I had been charged $222.50 for dinner. I did not have dinner at the restaurant and we had gone out to the night market to have dinner. This should have been mentioned to me while checking out. 6. I had to call reception as I could see my credit card has been charged. I was advised to call back in 10 minutes. I found this unacceptable so I advised the person that THEY need to call me back and he took my number down and called me back 20 minutes later and advised there was a mix up with room numbers and they have refunded me. See invoices attached. So to summarise my experience with Pullman. My credit card has been charged a total of $694.88 $472.38 for 2 nights and incorrectly charged an extra $222.50 which is still not refunded and will most likely take a week to come back into my account. The service I received at both times were not acceptable. I understand you tried to make my stay as comfortable as possible the second time round sadly this didn't happen, whilst the attention to details in the room was nice the second time around. However I shouldn't have had to complain or provide a bad review to get that. I feel as though I have been ripped off and let down on both occasions. The second stay I had taken time out to give it another shot however did find it unfair to have to pay for parking and only receive 1 night considering I paid for 2 and then having my card charged for another guests meal. At the end of the day I am the on who is effected by this and the amount of time and effort trying to resolve the several issues experienced is unacceptable. I would have accepted a full refund and left it at that. The complimentary stay and the service was a nice gesture however sadly it has left a sour taste and added more fuel to the already burning fire. I will not be recommending Pullman to anyone.

Service was great, the room the swimming pool water was cold, many of the other customers had also mentioned this. The rooms are a bit dated an small bath room for a 5 star hotel compared to others I have been in.

« OK for 13 nights with minor issues that are unusual for a five-star hotel »

Pluses: 1. Spacious room, comfortable bed and usual amenities in the room in good working condition. 2. OK for a business traveller Minuses: 1. Had in-room dining on most nights. The options are extremely limited especially for a lengthy stay. Had asked for a copy of the bill to be sent up with my order and the team would take note but not bring it with them resulting in another trip back to the kitchen - isn't it a standard practice in 5-star hotels to send a customer copy of the bill? This must have been done on the first 7-8 days before the team probably made a note about orders coming from my room. Then, there was an occasion where I placed a slight deviation from the menu for a pizza but it was brought up to my room without making the change. Also, for a 3 pieces of extra cocktail-sized sausages on the side, an additional charge of "open food" for $5 is incredulous. 2. Had also placed orders for laundry service a number of times. The quality of the ironing of folded shirts and T-shirts was terrible - easier to believe they had just been folded. They were brought back to the room in baskets. After I had cleared the laundry, the baskets would just keep piling up in my room and neither the housekeeping nor the person collecting/delivering the laundry cleared the baskets till I called for removal. It makes no sense for the unsightly basket pyramid to be left in my room - what is a guest expected to do with it? 3. Housekeeping - human hair seen on white bed sheets even after room was cleaned for the day. Some days a towel was missing. On another occasion, a spare toilet roll. Some days, the toiletries were not replaced. 4. Buffet breakfast - For travellers staying on lengthy trips, there is no variety at all. All the items served are exactly the same with no innovation whatsoever. A business traveller doesn't have the time to chase down and address each of these issues with hotel management. They are already working on a tight schedule, away from family and friends. Just because a complaint is not registered, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Just one other word of caution which you should probably post on your website - most people live in the world don't live on roads with such gradients as Auckland. It would be wise to post a cautionary note that access to your hotel from Queen Street or the docks requires a significant climb so that guests with physical access health issues are warned before hand.
