« Helpful, friendly staff, nice room, but a rather poor car park »

The reception staff were really nice. I liked the room I was first given and felt very relaxed there after an awful drive up the M5, but I did find the car park (outside the Business Centre) very dark and also very bumpy. Couldn't you fill in the potholes and put a few more lights in it? Sadly my otherwise enjoyable stay was rather spoilt by an incident where a mouse entered my room from the woods at the back, but the staff did their best to deal with this at the time, and also compensated me for that night's stay. As this really wasn't the hotel's fault I still won't hesitate to go there again.

Accor hotels are usually brilliant but this hotel is tired and needs lots of TLC. Staff were excellent but the building and fixtures need refurbishment. Maybe it's the location maybe it's past the sell-by-date but if Accor want to retain their usually top rating they should spend some money on the Mercure Wolverhampton.

« Nice public areas, room ok, bathroom not good. »

Easy and to book and check in. Bathroom in dire need total refurbishment. Reception polite. Bar food was nice. Floorboards in room and hall very creaky and I could hear every sound from other rooms. Mattress was on the way out.

« This was my third trip in two months and was the best. »

Everything was very good, we got upgraded to executive rooms for myself and guests in a second room both with four poster beds in the business centre annexe.

The staff are pleasant and helpful, and I have had a comfortable stay in the hotel. However, the rooms do need maintenance. For example, carpets have rips in them, curtains are dirty, some sink plugs do not work (they need to be removed manually because the lever does not work), some ceiling bulbs need replacing) and there are rust (or similar) marks in some bath tubs.

Very poor rooms, dirty and old. Mould all over bathroom. Executive suite in old building seperste from main building. Strong damp smell. Due to stay for a week but checked out after 1 night because it was awful

On balance a nice stay. Staff were fabulous- nothing was too much trouble, breakfast was great. Hotel has very large car park, which is useful and the hotel is in a very convenient location. Whilst the room we stayed in (superior) was large and clean and the bed comfortable, there are little repair jobs that need doing e.g window catch that did not work resulting in draft and road noise & wardrobe mirror cracked (so changed room), in new room - handle on sink tap broken & one bedside lightbulb not working. It would not take a great effort to make sure that these matters are attended to on a day to day basis and would make all the difference. The evening dinner a la Carte menu was perhaps a little limited but food was quite good.

I checked in quickly, I found the room to be too warm with two radiators on. I asked a member of the cleaning staff if they could be turned off as I was on my way out. Upon my return the radiators were turned off as per my request.

Not one of the best Mercure’s we have stayed. Friendly welcome but room was small. Only one bedside cabinet which had a light which didn’t work. The washbasin tap was not working correctly as hot water only dribbled out. The towel rail was so close to the toilet that you were in danger of burning your leg. The radiator in the bedroom was either fully on or off as the valve did not seem to work correctly.

Staff friendly and helpful. Reception and restaurant area very nicely decorated. Once you stared going upstairs it was like a time warp! Very tired looking, dated and painted dark grey! No lift! Our room was not 'superior ' other than more floor space. It smelt damp. The floor tiles in the bathroom were broken and moved as you walked. The windows, once forced open had to be propped up. We could not turn the radiator down. Good location, but would not recommend.

I will never stay at this hotel again! Changed 3 rooms stayed 3 nights at this hotel and never again! Horrible bathrooms and 1 started leaking in the middle of the night, paint peeling everywhere, carpets have musky smell, bedsheets not changed, no proper heating in rooms. Disgusting for a overcharged breakfast.
