Room was cold and had to request 3 times before I had an independent heater delivered to my room. Despite this the room was still cold overnight. The Hotel was tired and shabby although the staff were very polite and attentive. Was not told at time of booking that the swimming pool/Leisure Centre was closed and being refurbished. Feell that I have overpaid for a Hotel with limited facilities. Would not rate this Hotel at the rating given and will question whether I stay at this brand again

Mercure Hotel Stay, Wolverhampton Tuesday Night 12 February 2019 Walked in and asked if there were rooms available, which there was. Booked room only for £64.60 for members, said I saw it on internet for £60.00 that morning, checked various web pages. Room 61. Later checked and it was the difference between one and two person occupancy. Went to room, the only bedside light was not working, reported this reception who said they would fix it. Arrived back at 12 midnight, font door locked, pressed night bell a few times over ten minutes, could not see any body inside. Telephoned hotel number diverted to Vodafone mobile voicemail and left message. We then went around front and attracted three male residents in the bar, watching TV, no one came to the front door and could not open and indicated we should return to the space outside the bar again and he directed us to the emergency exit and let us in, saying he knew about it as he was a smoker. We were very grateful. Our message was not returned and we did not see any staff in front office reception, dining room or kitchen. Back in the room the one bedside light still did not work. In the morning we noticed the wash basin was cracked. The flush small button on the WC did not work but the big button. The hot water in the wash basin was a trickle and took a long time to fill. The hot water in the shower did not work. The fan in the bath the room made a lot of noise, when the light was switched on. We then checked out with Emma in the morning and pointed out all these problems to her. She apologised and gave a £30.00 credit on the room rate and settled the balance. We have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the past six months and have had a number of problems such as un-serviced rooms and a leak from the room above, causing us to move to another room. I have completed guest satisfaction surveys on each occasion where I am told this is to improve your services, which has not happened on subsequent visits. I get the impression that the rooms are not checked for quality prior to guests using them, hopefully my feedback will help you improve your current procedures.

Arriving at destination hotel the property looked great location and great carpark. Upon checking in the lobby area and bar area can been seen, although quiet very clean and modern. Our receptionist checked us in around 2.30pm and informed us room keys were not working and they would be letting us in our room duration of our stay. As myself and partner work in a hotel we appreciate this can happen and be a nuisance. After check in i asked how we access the pool/leisure facilities to be told they are being refurbished and currently closed. I booked directly through Accor and not once is this mentioned on website or at all through my booking/confirmation. Extremely disappointed as if we had known prior we would have not booked. Moving on we got to our room and we can see it is very dated and worn, clearly in need of a refurb. We understand this can not be helped, but to find a bath towel so worn it had holes in was disgraceful and embarrassing. To then see the bath so worn there are numerous rust patches on the bottom i felt uncomfortable to have a bath and for a shower lay a towel on the bottom. To also only have 2 electric sockets in the bedroom that are actually in use by tv and light.. how am i to boil the kettle in the dark?.. charge a mobile phone? Again i would like to say i understand from working in the industry some things cannot be helped with age but i feel majority of my issues could and should of been prevented. Extremely disappointed in my stay and do not feel it was worth the value of £45.60. (this being a discounted rate) I use Accor brand all the time aswell as mecures especially and now feel i will consider another brand as been put off by this experience. I would appreciate a reimbursement of some kind as i was unable to enjoy my stay and unable to use facilities i paid for and intended/purposely booked for.

Chose this hotel for both location and from pics on the booking site. The executive room looked super on the pic, far better than the reality of the room. A bit of tlc in the quality of finishes by maintenance (paintwork, door seals, light bulbs) and a small injection of cash into carpeting and seating for that room (82) and you could charge more and the room would be executive...and complement the superb 4 poster bed and beautiful cornice finishes. Great service on reception and HK. Oh...and the room has such a small tv a distance away from the bed. Difficult trying to read the subtitles and not wanting to turn it up louder out of courtesy to other guests. Don’t forget a little card to tell guests that the middle switch at the bed controls the TV!

« Stayed in Business Centre, very noisy. »

Room was in the Business centre, room was large but very noisy, sound proofing in the partition walls was poor, can hear everything from next room. Also next to entry combination door so could hear slamming early morning and late at night. Radiator in room also not controllable, could not switch off, stayed on even with valve turned off. En suite had a lot of mould and shower was next to useless, takes over 10 minutes for water to get warm and very little flow even with tap on full. For nearly £100 per night, not worth the money. When filling in arrival sheet, filled in email address then find out that I have been signed up for Accorhotels account, I did not agree to this.

The hotel room was in a very poor state, in desperate need of decoration. The shows didn’t work properly and the room was cold (only one working radiator). Breakfast was average (processed hollandaise sayce and poor quality coffe). I will avoid this hotel in the future and ensure that none of my colleagues book this hotel.

The price is fair. The downside is me and my partner weren't told about he swimming pool being out of action and we have stated several times now and it comes across as the rooms are getting smaller. The last one had no window and no extractor in the bathroom!! It just felt cramped. The pool big out of action is a big one for me as I like to have a swim and relax. Until they get the pool completed I think we will look at other hotels.

Car park was good, reception good, room OK but cold when I entered it then when I went to bed about 10.30 pm it became very hot and I could not adjust it. I also failed to sleep as I could hear the traffic I was very surprised to find the window were single glazed. Breakfast good. Staff helpful.
