Service by staff was superb, they were attentive and very helpful. However the shower in two rooms was verging on dangerous. There was no control over the hot water. I had to change rooms once and the second room also had problems with the shower. Breakfast was excellent and bar service was also excellent.

I once again had a very enjoyable stay at your hotel. The only slightly annoying thing was that on my second day, I found that the tea bags and milk hadn't been replenished. It's only a small thing but I do enjoy my tea. However, Reception were kind enough to give me some of theirs.

From arriving and finding we were a bed missing to breakfast the next day we found the service to be poor and disappointing. We had to ask for the fourth bed 3 times and when it was put up it collapsed immediately. We asked for it to be fixed and it went on to collapse another few times during the night. Breakfast was poor - the hash browns were actually frozen in the middle. We were ignored for 10 minutes when we arrived for breakfast and none of the tables were set up or clean. The waiter was rude but the waitress went above and beyond to help but she couldn’t manage on her own.

wanted to eat in the restaurant. No menus. had to be printed. Already limited menu and then some items not available. Food took an hour even though we were the first ones in the restaurant. My food came out cold. Asked for it to be reheated. Came out cold again. Colleagues had fish and chips - fish like concrete as over cooked. Bus load of Danish arrived. Couldn't get in the restaurant for breakfast the next day due to the coach party. Shower door had dirty smears on it. No one available to serve in the bar on more than one occasion, receptionist doing all tasks.

Starting with the positives, free parking, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was cooked to order - a welcome change. Now the negatives. It was a very warm day but the radiators were on in our bathroom (and the main bar) and the water in the sink wouldn't drain away because the plug was stuck. We were 'upgraded' to a room with no sink plug and no bedside light. To protect the Mercure brand this hotel should be demolished and an Ibis hotel built on the site.

With the exception of the car-park, which was fine, the rest of the facilities were most assuredly sub-standard. No doubt the car-park was adequate since those better acquainted than I stayed elsewhere. The receptionist was very pleasant and bubbly, remembering and using my name each time we spoke. The corridors and bedroom were decorated in a manner more appropriate for a budget horror movie. Very dark and depressing. No air-conditioning in the hotel meant that I spent most of the evening out in Wolverhampton. The bar was exceptionally grim and the actual bar-top was the sort of design that one might expect to see in a shed converted to a bar for the amusement of your neighbours. Breakfast was a lesson in grim with grease. All in all, you haven't covered yourself in glory. I have spent time in more welcoming and better equipped youth hostels.

Disappointed with rooms and no swimming pool

We were a family of 8 adults from different parts of the country attending a friends 70th birthday party. Four of us were accommodated in the Business centre. The rooms needed a good clean on the woodwork a repaint job and new carpets!!! Bedding was clean. When I booked with Accor the lady knew we were all family yet we were split up. The walk back and forth wasn't pleasant glad it was only for 1 night. My daughter and son in laws room when we first arrived was disgusting small boiling hot and unable to open window. We complained straight away but had to wait until 3pm when the manager came in to sort it out!! The following morning my sister whose room was in the main hotel was awokened by slamming doors load voices from a coach party going down early for breakfast.. Why doesn't your Booking people let other guests know that this is a hotel that caterers for Coach parties. The other disappointment was No Swimming Pool which was 1 of the reasons we booked it. Photos are still shown on your website wish I had read OTHER GUEST REVIEWS on website then I would have known there were NO LEISURE FACILITIES. just an eyesore in car park with smashed windows. I am amazed that I had spoken to two receptionists at your hotel on two different occasions and not once did either of them mention it. We arrived for breakfast next morning at 9 45am the greeting wasn't over friendly from staff perhaps they'd burnt themselves out on the coach party. We all ordered full breakfast and waited over 30 minutes. There did seem to be a lack of staff at this hotel so perhaps there was only one doing the cooking. One thing I would stay to any future guests is that if you are accomodated in the Business Centre don't leave your car by the trees because it will be covered in BIRD POO. Your comments would be appreciated.

The location of the hotel is good. The room was not what I was expecting of a "superior" type! Bedside wall light missing, bucket type chair was broken, carpet had flaws in it, however the bed was very comfortable. General decoration required. Window needed repaired.Public areas are very presentable. Service in the restaurant was very slow and if you wanted bar service, you had to search for staff to serve you. Another point I would like to bring to your attention was cups and glasses were left on tables in the lounge area and outside and not cleared away although staff were passing by! Swimming pool was unavailable. Despite these negative comments, the staff themselves were very pleasant and helpful.

I would not describe our room as a double as it was too small to have a bedside table on both sides so one of us did not have anywhere to put eye glasses, phone, drink etc. Cups were chipped and stained. Very dusty hospitality tray and surfaces. No TVs controls. Average 3 course dinner on the half board tariff with the bread roll for the soup served on the bowl half sticking in the soup! Never ever been served soup like this! The buffet breakfast became order only so had to keep asking for more tea etc instead of being able to help ourselves as needed. Because of all these things it was very poor value for money and I would not stay again.

No one could complain about the staff at the Mercure Wolverhamoton Hotel.....friendly, attentive, nothing was too much trouble, my husband and l cannot speak too highly of them. As for the Hotel...well that need a good overhaul. Our room in entering smelt horrible, the one window obsessively was not opened to air the room before we arrived, after using air deoderiser and leaving it for a few hours, it was ok when we got back. The water pressure was non existent and the bed in desperate need of a NEW mattress. Our welcome drink was a great relief and the lounge was very relaxing. Breakfast was an interesting experience, the staff were great once again but the turmoil that insured after a bus tour was in the restaurant left a lot to be desired.....the ladies that were left to clear up after, were run of their feet and the couldn't keep up with the demand for clean cuttlery and crockery. All in all, it was the staff that saved our stay at the Mercure Wolverhampton.

I was booked into here by a lovely receptionist at the Novotel as they were fully booked that eve. She explained it was their sister hotel. On arrival reception looked great but then it went downhill from then. The room was awful. The bed was on a slant, chairs are falling apart. Carpet needed a good clean. Bad mould in the bathroom and the shower head needed a bit of de-cal. TV too far from the bed to watch as chair was so uncomfortable to sit on. How they can class thus as a superior hotel?! and dinner us not served until 7pm. Too late in my opinion. Will avoid next time

My experience was fine. Not the best but definitely not the worse. Just a few details that let my stay down. It was extremely hot weather whilst I was staying in Wolverhampton just there was no A/C or Fans in the room. I couldn’t sleep with the window open as there was a generator constantly on making the loudest noise that it wasn’t possible to sleep through. The complimentary tea/coffee wasn’t stocked up everyday. The walls of the room I was in where paper thin so I could hear every little bit of noise. The bed side table light didn’t work and when complained about it still wasn’t replaced. The carpets had stains on them. and toiletries weren’t replaced and use

Looks good superficially, but many flaws. Room door handle loose and not reported by cleaner. Three light globes faulty. Room overheated . Wifi strength in the room marginal. Flooding of car bay at the entrance. Breakfast buffet not replenished after coach.

Arrived late after driving for five hours in torrential rain for most of the journey. Happy restaurant was still open and I was able to have a nice dinner and a couple of drinks in the bar.
