Firstly I must again say the the staff again were attentive and friendly. I must mention Declan, Marie and Bhudavesh who again gave us wonderful service with a smile. A special mention to Alan who again went out of his way to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable, he is a real star. The food quality was again very good especially the breakfast and the service in the morning has greatly improved. The dinner on the Friday 6th was nice but let down by the smaller portions on the fish and chips and especially on the salmon starter where the Salmon slice was tiny. We did complain, which is unusual for us, and the waitress brought out a bit more Salmon but was told that the chef is deliberately doing smaller portions and cannot do this in future, if this is the case them the starters are very expensive for the size. The dinner on Saturday 7th was absolutely delicious with steak for myself and lamb for my wife. Overall again an enjoyable stay and we will be returning later in the year.

From reception to room quality to dining the whole experience was fantastic it was our first time in an all inclusive hotel in Britain and certainly will not be our last we are already looking to book again we have told lots of people the deal we had and they cannot believe it our total spend was£1.50 for lime dashes we ate and drank like kings and slept the same in our king size bed the whole staff are very pleasant and are a credit to the hotel especially Marie on reception who is ultra efficient what impressed us was the food the menu choice breakfast and dinner took some getting used too as considering the price everything was offered not a restricted menu same on the drinks this as far as I'm concerned is THE best break on the Internet we loved it.

Big issues with Grapefruit juice put in the Orange juice container at breakfast and due to medication a few of us cannot have Grapefruit VERY BAD MISTAKE. Poor service at breakfast, not enough people working had to constantly ask for things e.g toast, coffee plates, bowls, hot food not enough out for the amount of guests. Only people who spoke English were reception staff, ordered a portion of chips and took forty minutes to come. Expensive got a family room and paid for my 15 year old son but he got a sofa bed, I expected a single bed for what I paid extra, I thought the sofa beds were to accommodate under 12. Some sockets in the room didn’t work, and no aircon, asked for more hangers and told no we only had 4 each room. Reception staff very informative and helpful, a long way to go to find somewhere else to eat as hotel is very expensive. My advice is order a takeaway and have it delivered.

I've stayed many times in the Ibis at Borehamwood, just down the road from the Mercure Hatfield Oak Hotel - at the Ibis I usually pay between £60 and £70 for comfortable, clean, well kept and serviced accommodation. As such I was expecting an equivalent, if not better, level of service at the Mercure. Unfortunately I was disappointed on three counts. The first was that there was a hole in the wall which had been recently repaired, but not sanded down or painted over. This made the room look rather shabby. The second was that there was one hand towel and one bath towel between two people. However most significantly was the absence of air conditioning or any means to keep the room cool. This meant that the room was stiflingly hot and we had a terrible night's sleep - I called reception to see if a fan was available or an alternative room which might have not been south facing (when I arrived the windows were shut and it was incredibly hot), but there was nothing they could offer other than what felt like a cursory apology. The staff I spoke to didn't seem at all bothered. I asked for my complaint to be registered against my booking, which I hope you can see on your system as it would be even more disappointing had this not happened. While I understand that not all hotels have air conditioning - although it is by far the exception these days - it is astounding that the hotel had no alternative to offer whatsoever. We've stayed in other Accor hotels without air conditioning and fan has always been available in the room. This was a huge disappointment, particularly after paying 20% more than I would have paid at the Ibis Borehamwood - I feel I've paid more at the Mercure for a significantly inferior offering which lead to a terrible night's sleep. In comparison, the Mercure represents very poor value for money. I've always associated Accor with a reliable, trustworthy, quality brand and one where I can book in confidence, knowing that I'll get a quality product. I'm left wondering if my next booking at another hotel will give me another bad surprise. Overall I'm left feeling that I've been ripped off - this hotel has harmed my perception of the Accor brand.

Reasonably priced all inclusive package, would certainly recommend to others.

As usual, (I think this is the sixth time we have stayed, usually with friends and family on all inclusive) the food was excellent, staff very helpful and hotel is situated to enable us to explore the surrounding area reasonably easily.

Everything was good, I travel a lot and stay in various locations, some are good, others nor so, but the Mercure ticked all the boxes, and I look foreward to staying with you again in the future, everyone was friendly, happy to serve

As I mentioned before, I enjoyed staying at your hotel, and the checking in was quick and efficient, bar person very knowlagable, food was good all staff Inc the ones that rarely gey a mention was obvious that they were very conciencious, and it showed in the cleanliness and tidynes of accomodation, I, d thoroughly recommend anyone to stay with you, must emphasise that all staff were polite, friendly courtious, you can't expect anymore that that, and also all that for a great price.

Enjoyed the large room, issue is you do not have aircon, I was offered a fan but all that blew was hot air. There were no parasols to hide under in the sun, no explanation why and toilet soap in gents was empty so informed night reception and they just shrugged shoulders, even though this sort of thing can cause germs when eating food.

2 rude male receptionists 1 white English male about 60 +1 male oriental glasses 45 ish we came in about midnight Saturday 17th August Didn’t say good evening We had just come from our wedding day You couldn’t work out the lights in the room Then stains all over the duvet cover We didn’t risk breakfast We spoke to the lady on morning reception 150% better lovely lady she couldn’t have apologised more and we said “it’s not your fault” I expect something to be done about this at least a talk by management to these 2 staff Yours sincerely Mr and mrs h.

Very well lit bedroom with excellent bedside reading lights. An afternoon meal of sandwiches and chips was very good as was breakfast. Reviews on line had been poor on food so maybe some improvements have been made.
