« Decor a little tired, shower pumps a bit noisy. »

Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Room was clean but bathroom could use some updating. Glad I didn't shower after late evening arrival as the shower pump made a fair bit of noise. Bed comfy enough and we both slept well.

Lovely barmaid. Fabulous room. Comfortable bed. Quiet. A double Gordon’s gnt £10 is extortionate- I pay less for double craft gin in central London. Food was mediocre at best

« Good but chilly »

Check in was quick and the receptionist was helpful. Room 305 was a nice room with a comfortable bed, however it was very cold upstairs we discovered that all of the landing windows were open and so needed to be closed which we did. We went out and upon our return we noticed quite a strong sicky smell in the stairway tonour room, not very pleasant. The following morning we came down for breakfast which overall was very good. We have even to this hotel on previous occasions and will quite happily come back.

« Wonderful courteous staff who are so friendly in nature and make the guests feel as if being in their own home »

Always love staying at Mercure oak Hatfield! Only drawback is absence of lift facilities and carrying heavy luggages to higher floors is extremely difficult and the intercom was not working properly and the problem was never rectified until I left after 3 days stay !

Lovely friendly hotel for a family wedding celebration. Staff were amazingly helpful, room was clean and comfortable apart from the lack of air conditioning, luckily I read the reviews and took a fan with us. Drink prices are on the high side.

Nice stay, hotel is confortable, staff is good, hotel is clean enough. The bed was bad....lousy matress...too soft, very very soft, we nearly drowned. Poor breakfast for non british. If you're eating sausages and eggs then its as plenty, but for those who drink coffee with toasts, ham, cheese...not so much. Almost no bread available, no toaster for public use, no ham, cheese in chocolate, almost no honey available, no marmelade.

Had to ask about check out details etc as info not offered. Room was very noisy, seemed to have no sound proofing. Could hear everything from the corridor. Room ok, but stating to feel a little dated. However breakfast was good, person searving is was extremely friendly and helpful. They also keep a bag which we left behind safe for us. Wasn't asked how room / stay had been at checkout. Also had issue ordering on line, then called but could not pay by AMEX, even though it seemed I could have done online.

Excellent all inclusive deal... Would love to repeat either at Hatfield or elsewhere. Food, especially the lamb, was fabulous and so beautifully presented and served. Reception staff were very polite and helpful and check in was good and welcoming. Restaurant staff were also very friendly and helpful.

« Suited the purpose. »

Reception staff were really nice and friendly as were the bar staff. The room was clean when we arrived. We stayed 2 nights, the housekeeping team didn't replenish the tea/coffee supply or the tissues and toiletries and opened the window. When we returned to the room (which was after midnight)it was so cold as the window had been left open all day. My husband ordered and paid for a pot of tea, asked for skimmed milk, however on checking with the kitchen he was informed there was no skimmed milk he asked to cancel the order and requested a refund but was told he couldn't get his money back. Which I think is wrong.

« Extremely bad service »

Arrived back late from a function and tried to enter through the back door which was understandably locked however after continually ringing the bell and banging the door had to walk all the way round to front of the hotel. The receptionist was sitting approximately ten feet from the back door was playing on a mobile phone. At breakfast in the morning there was a serious shortage of food and drink, even cups ran out. Service was if a serious sub standard, this was the view of everybody in our group

Ok but breakfast was a disaster nothing was kept up together ... Tables weren't laid probably and we had a evening meal and our daughter was eating her main when we all finished ours as waitress got it wrong receptionist on front desk were good

Ticked all the right boxes: staff were friendly, willing to help out, and efficient; everything clean; easy parking; better than average breakfast (and at £10 good value). Only minus was the fact that bathroom lighting was automatic on entry so could not be left on all night - and came on when you visted in the night.
