« very let down with safety and cleanliness of the wet room, and the lack of menu choice on the sunday »

I booked this short break for a birthday gift for my mother and her partner on the occasion of Mr. Noon's 86th birthday, along with a VIP day at Cosford air show. I specifically booked an adapted room for my mother, at no point was I advised that it would be in an outbuilding. The wet room did not have a non slip surface, the shower trim was coming off and the state of the toilet was a disgrace. The Sunday evening menu choice was exactly the same as the Saturday night and was not up to standard. I am extremely disappointed with the booking if I'd have wanted budget I would have booked budget, I feel that your standards are not what you advertise, in fact it is false advertising. Before I leave feedback on Facebook, Trip Advisor and with the local tourist board, I hope you will contact me a soon as possible with an exceptional compensation offer for my Mother and Mr. Noon. « Very poor, probably the worst experiance in a hotel in the uk. »

The room was dirty, it clearly hadn't been clean, clothing from the previous occupant had been left in the bathroom. There were stains all over the carpet, there were additional tea stains all around the bin area, rubbish had been left on the floor under the desk and the walls were heavily marked and stained. The staff had absolutely no interest in addressing any of these issues.

« Not bad, but room was cold. »

Room was cold, one bedside light didn’t work nor mirror light in bathroom and phone didn’t work either. Breakfast was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful.

Lovely hotel and location only downfall was the breakfast not enough food was cooked therefore people had to wait also not many staff the ones that were on was rushing from one table to another I suggest a restaurant manager to w Oversee this matter

« Could be a beautiful place but needs refurbishment »

The location and exterior of the hotel are beautiful. However the interior let’s the place down. It is very tired and is in need of refurbishment. The rooms are expensive for what you get and housekeeping isn’t very good as there was dirt and dust in many places including, for example, behind the four poster bed. On the plus side the evening meal we had in the restaurant was lovely, although the drinks service was slow.

The hotel is in a baeutiful old building, a 16th Century manor house, restored and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent and itself a good reason to stay.

« Great breakfast - room satisfactory »

The room was an odd shape - easy for tall folk like me to bang their heads using the warddrobe (room 15). Disappointing shower - not fixed to the wall. The breakfast was cooked to order and was excellent. I would certainly stay again but maybe look for a better room. I was only there from 8;30 pm and left at 7:30 am - so did not get great benefit from the beautiful location and the fantastic old building.

« Very different experience »

Nice unique hotel. The rooms are a good size & beds comfortable. Meals were very nice. The first morning we had a hot & cold breakfast buffet which was nice. The second morning we had a cold buffet & cooked to order breakfast which was really good. My only complaint is that we hung the do not disturb sign on our door because we did not want the room made up. We went out & when we returned a clean towel & toiletries were left on the dirty pavement outside the door. This isn’t very good.

A wonderful hotel with character. All staff provided exceptional customer service. The food was of a high standard, both breakfast and evening meal. Friends recommended the hotel to us, we were not disappointed. Beautiful grounds with the added advantages of being able to relax with a drink outside overlooking a 'lake'.

« Excellent wedding, venue could use some tlc »

The hotel was absolutely stunning, it just felt like it wasn’t reaching its full potential. We stayed in the gatehouse and I found the staircase in need of hoovering, laundry bags left littered outside and gone off milk on the window sill. The room itself was lovely and clean, however lacking a full length mirror, which made getting ready for a wedding difficult. The staff were all fantastic and the service was second to none. Overall I would say the hotel was good, but could use some love to reach its full potential.

Very pleasant setting, although some parts seemed a bit tired looking, especially overlooking the lake. This area could be much more inviting and a lovely asset on a beautiful day. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely food.

« Was below what we expected! »

Upon arrival (friday pm) the corridor was very dirty (ok yes they were being redecorated) hoover left outside or door , shame no one was able to switch it on! (this was not cleaned up until Saturday afternoon) Saturday morning Breakfast was chaos, had to wait ages for more eggs and bacon, beans were all dried out ! people were walking in without tables being ready, maybe a sign out side to ask to wait to be seated ?? Later on we when we went out of our room one of the staff door cards was left on the side!! Saturday night we found the shower was too hot , we tried all combinations of settings but couldn't get it cool ! Outside the bar nice area to sit , shame loads of slabs were loose and broken , trip hazard ?? Spoke to reception on departure especially about the breakfast issue and she want interested ! Stayed here several times before and was impressed, not so this time !

We were kept waiting for 1 hour to check in, only 1 teabag in the room and every time we went into the bar we had to find a member of staff to serve us. This put a dampener on stay, although the staff were nice, the service wasn’t great.

« A lot of potential, service lets it down »

The grounds are beautiful and has loads of potential but is quite run down. The service is quite poor, no smiles from reception staff, you have to ask to be severed a drink at the bar, empty glass left on table. Painting was going on in our corridor, surely this should have be done quieter times and not when fully booked for a wedding, the corridor was left with dust sheets and crap the whole time we were there. Breakfast on the morning was basic, service poor had to ask for cups, plates, coffee, no apology just miserable faces... not great but wedding venue was lovely and room was ok

« Attentive staff, needs investment »

Checking in was a pain, the details had been entered on the Accor website but I still ended up with three "pre-auths" as all the charges were going on the one card. All the staff were courteous and friendly. Room 29 had a light out over the bath and a large gap along the length of the bath underneath exposing masonry. There was no card reader in the bar area and if you wished to pay by card for drinks you had to visit reception to do so. The evening meal was acceptable but nothing memorable. Breakfast was good with the hot options cooked to order, again the staff were friendly.
