The room was clean and spacious enough. The breakfast was tasty but maybe a few more hot items could have been on offer. There was a slight smell of smoke in the corridor and in our room which was a bit off putting.

Breakfast was supposed to be served until 10am but on our second day, there was none when we arrived at 9.30 The member of staff was not proactive in asking what we wanted. We had to approach them after we had been seated.

The hotel looks a little tired and is in need of freshening up. The room we were given 203 had a adjoining door that had no lock and the bathroom smelt of smoke. I didn't sleep particularly well due to the noise, but this isn't something the hotel could do anything about.

« Noisy and expensive »

Doors banging ALL night and what I could only describe as an all night party going on literally opposite our room on the ground floor. However, I did find out from friends that were staying on other floors that this was an issue all over the hotel on this evening which was Saturday 1st September. 2 pints of lager and a bottle of Bulmers cider £14.60. No thanks. We would have spent a lot more in the bar if it wasn’t for ridiculous pricing so we went into town instead which was far more reasonable.

Nothing special to report, nothing negative to report. Hotel is in good position, room was quite as requested, but breakfast was under my expectation with too few food options. But anyway in general my stay was worthing to fare.

Rooms clean and comfortable, staff very helpful and polite. Rooms not very sound proof could hearing every noise outside room, corridor doors banging when people using them. Could also hear the lift going up and down.

The staff were lovely. However I paid for a double room for myself and my partner. The bed was 2 singles pushed together. My partner and i do not get away together often as we have 2 small children and money is tight. We were disappointed that the beds were pushed together as we had paid for a double.

We had stayed before so knew what to expect, the staff went above and beyond their expected duties in such a pleasant way. NOW I Wonder will the next comments in any way be taken notice of.???? The first impression is one of a very Scruffy outside...get management to take a look at all the rubbish strewn about the entrance and approach...The low wall to the entrance door encourages outsiders to sit and smoke out of the rain...cigarette buts to many to count and an over flowing cigarette butt sand pot ...I hope you get the picture..there didn't seem anyone employed to do this (we were there for 5 days..Staff working hard..not enough of them...The hotel seemed sad..but the staff coped and were always cheery...I could make a lot more suggestions on how to improve the place..BUT first and foremost someone needs to care and want to improve

« A tired hotel with very tired guests »

The hotel is not in the most scenic part of town, is in need of severe makeover, and hnas some very rowdy clientelle, certainly during our stay, which was a saturday night. Awoken by loud aggressive shouting outside the hotel, followed by loud voices and many repeatedly slammed doors on our corridor. All from approx. 5.45am. At Breakfast it appeared a party was still in progress at 9.30am, with a large group of men talking and shouting to each other, often in foul language, across the breakfast room. The waitresses were good and obliging with their service, but the noise from the group of men was allowed to continue. I should point out that this was my first, and definitely the last at this hotel. I should alsopoint out that over the past 20 years we have stayed at the Worsley Novotel very regularly with no problems whatsoever.. Sorry, buts thats how we felt

Check in was quick and the room was as expected from a Mercure with a decent, if a bit tired looking bed, and a clean, functional bathroom. I was booked on a half board basis and the evening meal was of a good standard. Drinks though I thought were a bit expensive. The breakfast staff were fantastic. I needed to leave early and they accommodated me before the normal opening hours. There was a wedding and large party of tourists staying that night, but even so, service was efficient and friendly. All in all a pleasant stay.

We stayed in a superior room but it was anything but superior. The only positive was the bed which was roomy and comfortable. Room needed decoration, shower leaked, bathroom tatty.
