« Tired looking noisy hotel, good location for town »

Been staying at this hotel for a number of years but recently starting to look run down. Noisy in the night and was woken up by drunks in the corridor in the middle of the night. Never take breakfast as quality is poor and is over-priced. Also not happy with new parking arrangements and worried about being fined as you don't get a receipt or anything in writing ti confirm you have entered your car details correctly do you have nothing to prove if challenged. Considering trying the Premier Inn next time.

I have stayed many times seeing family and friends in Wigan and have always enjoyed staying at the hotel. The staff are very helpful and approachable and it is always a delight to stay there.

The room was great; peaceful and well decorated. I found the staff on reception helpful I ate in the restaurant for two nights and found the service to be somewhat rude. Lots of internal conversation- too loud- when I made a request for something it was not always dealt with well. There was a lack of eye contact. I found it odd. The food was ok and what I would expect from a Mercure.

Fire alarm went off at 0340 and 0500, no phone in my room so couldn’t ring reception to find out what was going on. Complained in the morning Chinese people were smoking and set alarms off. Ashley dealt very well with complaints. Rooms a bit tired especially bathrooms. Staff very helpful and hotel very central, would stay again as close to my relatives.

Friendly Staff general appearance of hotel it needs a refurb. Smoke alarm went off at 0340am and 0450am which I understood from other guests it had done for 3 out of the last 5 nights. Normally use Ibis hotels thought Mecure was meant to be better, not in this case.

Mostly good as usual, we like staying here because the staff are friendly & helpful. I did have some problems with the sockets in our room being unable to charge up my mobile phone and iPad properly. However, this would not stop us staying here in the future as it is very convenient when we visit family, and in the main it is good value for money.

It was OK - had to stay in Wigan for work. Thought that the young staff in the restaurant could have been more professional instead of slouching over the counter when not busy. Receptionists were welcoming and helpful

the staff or excellent and very attentive. when my TV was set on the wrong frequency they came immediately to change it. polite and cheerful. Rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is good.
