Room 211 was modernish , although the carpet was a bit worn in places. Taps in bathroom were on back to front, one of the beds squeaked on every movement. When we arrived back from our night out at around 11.30pm the coffee machine was not working, so I was invited to make my own at the hot drinks station, I found this very bazaar.

Room & breakfast was OK. In the next room was a drunken man being sick & his friends were noisy for hours on end over night. The staff tried to deal with the issue. The security within the hotel is non existant. Single women should avoid this hotel.

This was an extremely rare occurrence and although we do ask guests to respect the privacy of others and keep noise levels to a minimum, I am sure that you can appreciate this is extremely difficult to monitor at all times, especially within the privacy of a guests bedroom. Given that you were happy with your room and Breakfast, it is disappointed to see that you chose to mark us so low on an aspect of your stay that was not based on our staff or the service that we offer. I can assure you that we have never had any issues with guest safety or security at this hotel and reiterate that this was a rare circumstance. I'm emailing to register a complaint regarding my stay at the Wigan Oak Hotel on Friday 22nd June 2018. I stayed in room 305 and as I'm sure you are now aware there was repeated loud noise from shouting guests on that corridor from approx 3.30am to 7am. There was a continuous banging of bedroom doors all along the corridor and inappropriate shouting that was both alarming and totally spoilt what was otherwise a lovely evening. I am aware that other guests have similarly complained to the reception staff. The reception staff the following morning were very polite and apologetic and told me they knew about the disruption caused by these guests. I would have expected your hotel security to intervene and address the issue. This clearly did not happen and as such my partner and I had no sleep at all, together with anxiety at having to listen to this noise all through the early hours of the morning. I am sorry that this was my experience of my first stay in your hotel as otherwise the staff were delightful. I look forward to your response.

Convenient hotel in fantastic location for all amenities, very helpful front desk, couldn't do enough for me. Ashley receptionists was more than helpful as she is on every occasion I call and attempt to book this hotel. Ideal location if you are stopping in Wigan.
