Took advantage of the gin offer+ added on another night bed and breakfast.Nice room,comfortable bed,great gins and nice food as always.The hotel has a nice gentle relaxed and friendly atmosphere.Stall all friendly and helpful.

In the past month I have stayed at the Mercure Hotel Bowden twice. Each time I called to make the reservations I spoke to Catherine in reception and was most impressed with how she organised my stays. Catherine comes across as professional, polite, knowledgable and friendly. The rooms provided were excellent. Likewise, the breakfast and the staff on hand in the restaurant were excellent.

I stay at this hotel 2-3 times per year, the staff are always welcoming and helpful but the hotel looks very tired and lacks logic. It is what it is a mixture of different buildings that have been cobbled together. Bearing in mind it’s right in the middle of Bowden & Hale it seems a lost opportunity for your hotel group to create something more significant

« A great destination to enjoy a night in Hale - much improved after makeover. »

Pleasantly surprised by the effect of the makeover which has managed to make the hotel much fresher and added a better contemporary feel to the Victorian building. Having moved away from Hale and Bowdon after 26 years I was back for a business meeting and night with colleagues. The welcome was friendly - the room spacious, comfortable and also benefitted from fresh new decor and furniture. I’ll be coming back to stay in the area monthly for similar events and this was a really encouraging start! Looking forward to being back @mercure Bowdon in May.

Not a lux Hotel but a clean room with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was good and any Hotel staff we during our stay were very helpful and look to enjoy their work.

The room facilities were good, however, no air conditioning, big gap under the door allowing noise and light to come through and the floorboards above were loose allowing every footstep above to be heard for almost 2 hours from 0550 to 0730hrs on a Sunday morning.

-Good environment and near the airport -Spacious room -Old bathroom that could be improved especially showerhead. Not flexible showerhead and not at all practical. -Breakfast: no enough choices for bread and bad quality of the jam

Generally quite good especially for the money, hearing was an issue which I had to mention to guest services twice before anything was done, tv did not work and light in bathroom flickered terribly

« Very noisy at night »

overall good however the noise from the hotel itself was really noisy. Staircase with old wooden steps when trying to sleep. upper room and side rooms heard everything. no safety features on upper floor windows and in very poor condition. bathroom was very mouldy around shower, and radiator leaked. hotel needs updating. The food was excellent however, staff were very helpful and friendly.

« Friendly, helpful and efficient staff, very clean and lovely food »

Overall, I'm very pleased with my stay. All staff were friendly, respectful and helpful. Excellent service and excellent choice at breakfast. My room was clean and efficiently maintained. The only difficulty was that I travelled with my elderly parents and had not realised that the Hotel did not have a lift. However, the staff responded immediately and did their best to find accommodation with only one flight of stairs, which was much appreciated. Thank you.

« Getting tired »

I have been coming to the hotel for 8 years now for a course, over time, whilst getting the odd tidy up here and there, the hotel is getting tired. The ceilings in the dining room are hanging down, in fact in a number of places. Also, the food is not to a great standard any more, so it is a good job there are so many wonderful places honest and drink Just a short walk into town.

All the beds were replaced in the week prior to Christmas so a little disappointing that you did not have a great night but do understand bed comfort is very much a personal thing. As a general rule the restaurant is open every evening but severe staff shortage did cause the closure on the Sunday of your stay resulting in just the bar menu being available but hope this did not cause too much inconvenience.
