When we arrived we where given a room where the radiators where on fully. The rom was to hot to stay in. We got moved to another room which was above a Wedding Reception which went on until the early hours of the morning. The noise was horrendous with the music from the DJ and guests shouting. In the morning there was 'takeaway' left overs outside our room!! Not ideal when we chose this Hotel as we had a flight from Manchester Airport at 8am.

Loud shouting in Chinese or similar language right outside the Stanford room I was staying in. All I could hear was housekeeping and trolleys being wheeled through double doors before 730am.

Old blood stained towel left in bathroom when we arrived. Had to ask for towels as none in room. Room was billed as a superior room, but didn't seem like it. Hairdryer was missing fan safety guard. Restaurant served up meat chilli instead of vegetarian chilli. Overall it was a extremely unpleasant expe science. I have stayed at this hotel many times before. But will never do so again

Room was lovely was upgraded to a privilege room, only issue was kids running up and down the corridor until 11:30pm, who I think had been attending a wedding on site. Room was very hot as no air con, had to ask for a fan for the second night which was a little help but fan could of been a lot bigger and more sockets in the room would help as there was only 2 plugs in a good enough place to be able to use them if you unplug the coffee machine.

Staff was very kind and polite but that's the only good of the hotel. No AC and full on radiators that we couldn't regulate didn't let me sleep at night. Room was generally clean, but plenty of mould on the old windows. Breakfast very poor, and with some reason each time we wanted some bread we had to ask for it?! Also we were sat next to the window that was also covered in mould, dust and spiderweb. Pool was OK, but very dirty - plenty of sand both in pool and jacuzzi.

Well located but really need renovation

+++Location - near airport and beautiful city of Altrincham-, Swimming-pool, nice people ----- Old building - need really refreshment of all building and especially bathroom-, breakfast need to be improved (no hot chocolate and first time experience in Mercure where waiter cannot offer me a hot chocolate, only one salted bread: standard baguette would be also appreciated, low cost jam, no fresh fruits). Just one word please see and copy breakfast of other Mercure.

Thanks for the time taken to write this review, it would appear that you enjoyed several aspects of the hotel but not all. I am however a little shocked by the comments made about breakfast as we do follow the Accor recommended standards and always have fruits but do take your point about fresh bread selection and will ask the chef to follow up on this point. Everyone was so very pleasant and welcoming, you were instantly made to feel comfortable. Martin, a gentleman serving breakfasts was extremely helpful about gluten free food, and he even remembered the following morning. Marvellous.

From start to finish I enjoyed my stay here. The Young gent on reception was really pleasent and helpful and checkin was easy. I ate in the bar area, food was good and overall atmosphere. My room was large and comfortable and the large desk was good to work on. I thought the pool facilities were great and being able to have a relaxing dip in the pool after an evening of working was spot on.

Mercure Alrincham has been going downhill for some time , and continues in that direction . For a Mercure, a really disappointing experience. but you have a captive audience....otherwise we would stay elsewhere.
