From reception to the room service and the condition of the rooms was very satisfactory. there is only one issue we had and it was breakfast. We do not eat pork and found that it was very limited on savoury options.

It was really nice. I am Gold in le club, so i use to travel a lot due professional commitments, and this time was diferenct becouse i had opportunity to travel with my family. Novotel makes it easy . Thats was really good.

« Good Hotel, excelent view and breakfast »

New hotel with comfortable beds and very good shower. Beautiful view, with excellent breakfast - better than the average 5 star breakfasts. One negative point, however: the hotel only offers 2 beach chairs per room, even if you are in a room with 4 people - which is nonsense and stingy. Two suggestions: the hotel should ask for a light signal in front of the road, as it is very dangerous to cross the street with children and also should program the coffee machine to make capuccino without sugar, as it was before.

« Good, but it could be better, just with small work. »

I love the hotel location, love the staff with reasonable price. But, I’ve experienced for two yrs, in the bathroom has a lot very little tiny bugs on the ceiling that I really hate.

« It's not a Real Novotel »

My wife and I went to Rio de Janeiro, to meet some old friends. In last January we were in Mercure Hotel Praia do Pepe, and was very good. At this time we choose Novotel Barra da Tijuca that is in front of our preferred Beach Bar.Location was perfect, but the service and cleanness were terrible. Even with my Gold card, check-in took about 20 minutes, and also the hotel was paid in advanced the receptionist said that they were waiting for baking confirmation.We had no room upgrade; we didn't receive any candy in the room, the room was dirty, the safety box was damaged, there were no face towels in the bathroom.It's not a Real Novotel.PS: If you need I have some room pictures.

Towels were often not replaced, sometimes they were taken out altogether. Room service food was not ideal either I had chips a couple of times and they looked like they'd been refried. Laundry took 3 days on one occasion. Furthermore I asked for the invoices to be emailed to me and they never were

« Very Poor Stay experience - Would not recommend to anyone »

Room did not feel fresh and smelled of stale cigarette smoke all the time. AC was switched on for whole day and it felt cold when entering the room after the end of work. Very Poor in-room service, staff is not able to understand english, as a result of which explaining the needs, in-room dining was difficult. Just to give you an example, ordering even plain toasted bread in room with milk was not understood correctly. Laundery was not cleaned properly, with stains visible after washing. Some of the clothes shrunk after laundery. laundery was delivered to the room without a copy of the laundery receipt so it was not possible to compare if everything sent was sent back. It was also not possible to check the laundery expense and match it to the final bill. This resulted in considerable time taken during the check out because the bills had to be brought from the house keeping. No irons were provided in the room despite repeated requests to the main desk. And when they were provided, they were taken away from the room without being asked. Exercising instruments were defective in the miniscule gym. Swimming pool was only open for the periods from 10 am to 6 pm which was not suitable for guests on business trip. Sauna was not operational even when asked it to be switched on 30 minutes before the use as was mentioned on the door. During lunchtime some of the items were marked as Vegetarian (labelled green) even when the description very clearly said it contained meat. All in all a terrible experience and it did not feel that I was staying in a 4* hotel.

Staff were friendly and mostly helpful. Rooms were OK; amenities were lacking in quality; generally the hotel itself not up to standard compared to other Novotels I have stayed in The hotel ran out of wine on a Saturday and wine was not available for 4 days; the hotel almost ran out of beer also; I would expect a hotel at the standard of a Novotel to react to lack of supplied more quickly

« A nice stay off the beaten track »

Welcoming reception, room was clean and Novotel standards. Some typical Brazilian problems of lack of attention to detail (windows do not lock properly, lights flash during the night, no battery in the TV remote control) but otherwise ok. Dinner was honest but indifferent service. Breakfast buffet is very good. Check out simple and pleasant.
