The hotel staff and location of this hotel are the reason I enjoy staying at Novotel. There's a great breakfast buffet which is included in the rate. The only area of improvement I would note is the dinner at the hotel leaves a lot to be desired. The food was barely edible.

Rooms were clean and well appointed. Some slight odor in room. Restaurant buffets were delicious. Overall, a very positive experience.

When I was booking my room, I asked for high floor. I had a peer that was also staying in the same hotel, when we were doing the check in, I asked if I could be in a high floor and the attendant said no because they were full, so I got 2nd floor, but my friend, that was doing check in in the same time, got the 7th floor. Another thing was that I noticed 3 small holes of 1 inch on the towel. Besides that, I had nothing special or different.

I already knew the hotel, but had a great experience this time. It was our first trip with our newborn (3 and a half months). We stayed at the family room final 65 and 66, that has a great view and is really good space for a family of 5.

Friendly staff, good wifi connection and excellent location. Modern facilities and nice view at the top. Just more attention with the cleaning of the rooms. We had a problem with smell in the first room but they promptly changed us to another room. 2nd room was ok but we found hairs in the shower

« Executive hotel by the sea »

Overall good experience, the hotel is located right by the sea in the Barra da Tijuca area, near all shopping malls (10-15 minutes by taxi). The beach in front is really pretty and nearby there is restaurant and a little shop that sells bread and pastries that are really good. The room was very nice, really comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. This is not an area of touristic interest so if I were to return to Rio I'd probably stay in a different hotel, for that reason only.

I booked for 4 nights and stayed 3 nights. during check out i asked my last night's rate be offset against my little extras but they refused. I was very disappointed and expect this not to happen to anyone else.
