Disappointing

Haven't stayed at an Ibis Styles for a while. Found the one at Perigueux disappointing. It is quite dated and old fashioned with long dark corridors and a general unloved feel about it Our room was small and dark with a tiny window that looked straight into the dense forest at the back. Beds were comfortable enough, but the room furniture felt very dated, didn't even have a proper desk. Carpet was faded and the bathroom was very tatty. There was a small bath (a plus) which my wife normally likes but there was black mould around parts of the edge and the shower screen so she decided against it. Behind the door didn't look like it had been cleaned for a while either. The only good point was the breakfast which was of the standard I have come to expect from Ibis, with plenty of choice (the variety of teas available a big plus), though the breakfast room was again quite dated. Has put me off booking another Styles hotel.

People was very nice but the facility is missing more care. That is definitely not an Ibis Style type of hotel. In my opinion that is a Ibis Budget. That mislead my decision for a hotel. I'll not return to that hotel again.

This hotel is great value for money, and great value if you need a family room. Lots of free parking, it is set in an elevated position and well back from the road. The staff are very helpful and really friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them when we stayed last weekend. The hotel is clean and has been refurbished recently in the majority of the communal areas and rooms. Well stocked bathroom, comfy beds, variety of choice at breakfast. A small pool with sun beds….all areas clean and well kept. I would highly recommend it. Restaurants and shops within walking distance and not too far from Périgueux centre by car or bus.
