Globally good, negative point is we wait 45min for diner in Chinese restaurant to have finally to inform that 2 dishes was sold out. We spent 2 hours for diner, 1 hour waiting, 1 hour to eat.

We had a very lovely stay! The room was nice, cozy and comfortable, and very clean and tidy. The shower was absolutely fantastic! We didn't have breakfast/lunch/dinner so I can't comment on food. But we did have drinks at the bar. And that was quite disappointing. The waiter was very friendly and kind but when ordering a drink a can does not belong on the table! Ordered drinks must arrive at the table served to drink and not to be mixed by the guest first (Gin & Tonic). Same low experience for tea. I ordered a tea in the afternoon. Being in China with its famous teas I do expect a proper tea and not a standard supermarket tea in a bag! I have been living in Hong Kong for quite some time now and in fine hotels (in this category I would like to see Pullman Powerlong too), this is a no-no. Still, we liked our stay a lot and would stay there again.

1. Check in - good and smooth. Booked two executive rooms and got one room upgraded to Suite with Le Club Gold. 2. A couple of highlights during the stay: a) The rooms are spacious and the views from the room was spectacular. b) Bailuzhou park next door is very beautiful and is the only place that is less crowded in Xiamen that I have been to. c) The staff are generally very helpful and showed the intention to help us for any requests. d) The temp lounge is in the restaurant at level 1 and there is a very impressive Chinese band performing at night, added atmosphere to the entire restaurant. One of the best experience during the stay e) It is right next to a bus stop and not too difficult to navigate around. The concierge staff on duty on 19 June (apologize didnt take down the young gentleman's name) took an extra step to help us to book a taxi and settled the luggage into the taxi. f) A hotel manager took the initiative to call at a night to check if everything went well. 3. I got a feeling that the standard operating procedure for this hotel is different (guess missing something) from other Accor hotels. A number of observations below: a) Despite the fruits in the rooms (including a rotten apple - although cannot tell from the outside), I didn't get any welcome letter, which is a kind of default practice in any Accor hotels I stayed before, and I even did not get any welcome drink or drink vouchers. b) The lounge is under renovation and the temporary lounge hosted at the lobby restaurant, which closed at 8 pm, a bit too early and as others mentioned, there was no alcohol drink. c) At the first breakfast, we informed the reception our room numbers for breakfast but they couldn't initially find the record nor recognise we are from the executive level, which means the breakfast has been included. d) While the staff are responsive and generally very helpful when they are approached. Nobody bother to come to greet us during breakfast and nobody come to serve coffee or tea. e) We requested late checkout at 3pm but the counter staff said we can only have late checkout till 2 pm. What could be the difference for just one hour? 4. Infrastructure: a) The bathtub switch for water outlet is faulty and dangerous in the Level 9 Suite. I had my finger cut when trying to empty water. b) The window in the Suite was not closed tight and you can hear the traffic outside, which could be annoying at night. Would revisit this hotel if I had a chance and hopefully it could be better.

Starting from the first time we try to check in. The gentleman try to give us a room ASAP but couldn’t so he gave us an upgrade which is a beautiful room overlooking the Egret Lake. Then every staff we meet has helped us with every inquiry we had. So everything great!

Few people from the staff speak English. The executive lounge was closed for improvement and works. It was not written when I booked this hotel. This hotel is more designed for local population, not international ones.

No professionalism of the staff, very aleatory service. The worst hotel in your group, never seen that before. As platinum member, I booek for 3 days during the national holiday. Late arrival but confirmed 3 times with hotel my arrival time, nothing was ready when I arrived at midnight. No upgrade, understood since holiday, but they gave me a room without shower!!!!! The staff didn’t know for breakfast and happy hour how works with platinum member, each time, they should call the manager to verifier. Terrible terrible, worst experience never met before!

The rooms were quite comfortable and well appointed. It could benefit from having a pillow menu available, as the only pillow offered was almost too low for me. The bathrooms are small and the shower is especially small. Hopefully in future renovations the bathrooms can be enlarged. The lake view is stunning, though the windows were quite dirty. The TV is modern and allows easy access to the HDMI and USB ports to plug in your own devices, which is great! The room was quite musty/smelly when we arrived, but this aired out after a few hours. My guess it that the room had not been used for some time before our stay. We did ask the bellboy, who helped us with out luggage, about the smell, and he simply said he did not think it was smelly and opened the window for us. Platinum loyalty recognition was generally good. We were given an upgrade to an executive room, however at no time prior to our arrival or during check in were we told about the state of the executive lounge. It is quite surprising and disappointing that we found out about the executive lounge being closed for renovations because we WENT to the lounge and found a sign saying it was closed, given that executive lounge access is a key feature of Platinum membership or booking an executive room. The happy hour was an interesting affair and the food was generally good, however it was disappointing that only soft drinks were on offer. Every executive lounge happy hour we have been to has included wine, beer and some basic spirits/liqueurs. Drink vouchers were provided at check-in, however it was disappointing that despite the drink voucher stating it could be redeemed for Pullman's special cocktails and wine, among other drinks, we were told we could only receive soft drink, juice and beers. It would have been beneficial to receive a welcome letter at check-in or to have one placed in the room, outlining information such as Platinum and executive room benefits. As a result, we had no idea what Platinum or executive room benefits we were entitled to for our stay. It would also have been nice to know that the executive lounge was closed for renovation and to know where and when the happy hour was held. For a 5 star hotel, we felt that service at breakfast was a bit lacking. After we had our names ticked off the breakfast packages list, we were simply told to go through to the restaurant. We had breakfast three mornings during our stay - not once were we shown to a table by the host, nor were we ever offered tea or coffee. We have stayed at Sofitels, Fairmonts, Pullmans, MGallery and Novotels that have all offered this standard of service, why can't Pullman Xiamen Powerlong offer it? We really enjoyed our a-la-carte dinner in the international restaurant; the lamb cutlets were especially delicious. Given that our meals would take more than 30 minutes to arrive, the restaurant manager very kindly invited us to sample the dessert section on the buffet while we waited. However, the rest of the standard of service lacked. We were initially given some table water, however during the course of our dinner: A) Our waters were never refilled; B) I was never offered a refill of my wine; and C) No one checked on our meals to ensure we were satisfied with them. Furthermore, staff training on Accor Plus dining discounts is required, as when settling our account the staff member told us that the dinner buffet is a 50% discount for two people, but ordering from the menu is only 15%. We had to ask for the restaurant manager to come and get this sorted, which she did very quickly. Thank you to the restaurant manager for her service during our stay. It was great to have a Wi-Fi system with a built in VPN. Speeds were generally very good. Being located next to a lake, there were a few mosquitos both in the room and in the restaurant. I am not really sure how this can be addressed, however. The window in the room definitely could benefit from a mesh screen placed over it, so the window can be opened without mosquitos coming in (perhaps a mesh screen that slides up and down?) A 4pm late checkout was granted and the hotel arranged for my partner and I to check out separately, as our flights were many hours apart. LeClub points and nights were promptly posted within 24 hours - thanks! Overall, we would return to this hotel, as the hard product (room and facilities) and the location is good enough. However, while the service is friendly, the standard of 5-star service requires much more attention to detail and to the guest.

Hotel is nice, but..... By checking in i was downgraded being a gold member. After telling it to the manager (the only one speaking English) i was upgraded to the suite. So far so good. But The people at the reception are slow, do not understand English. We asked 2 times if their was a massage service in the hotel. 2 times the answer was no and we were send to a place 10min away from the hotel. On the last day we went to the swimming pool and what did we see? Yes a massage center :) The business lounge was closed (we were not informed upfront) we got our happy hour food and drinks in the big retaurant. Ok but it wasn't so relax as in a lounge.

I stayed here together with my family and friends. We booked 7 rooms. I sent an email, to reconfirm all of our reservations, and asking any ugrade before my arrival. Received a reply after sending the second email, stated that all of our reservations are confirmed but refused any upgrade for us. Checked in was not smooth, took a long time, despite my email sent before stating informations of each room. I was given executive floor with free breakfast for two. Thank you for that. But my other family member did not get any upgrade, nor free breakfast eventhough using my member when made the bookings. Jason, who was helpful and attentive, helped me during checked out time. I asked him to closed all the bills of 7rooms, even the 2 rooms that would checked out on 10March. I also asked for free breakfast for 4 person, 2 of them were elderly, 87 years old. Jason said it was ok. But my brother's credit card was charged eventhough i already asked to closed the bills, and we didn't know for what expenses. Furthermore, I didn't received any points or status nights for all of my reservation (5 reservation for 3rooms each 4nights). I sent an email to hotel and made a complaint through accor customer service. Received the point already, but my brothers didn't received his points yet. Hotel itself is nice, the view from my room is beautiful. Room is clean and comfy. Breakfast was good. Will stay there again if I come to XiaMen.
