I wasn’t happy with my room and the manger immediately gave me a grand suite which was great. The manager was excellent in addressing an unhappy customer and he turned me immediately to a very happy and satisfied customer

« A good stay as usual with Sofitel »

We spent two nights in a very comfortable room at Sofitel Frankfurt Opera. The only problem we had was with the Accor on-line check in where I inadvertently managed to sign us up for a fast checkout whereby the Sofitel took a rather large hold on our credit card. We did try to sort this out upon arrival, but without much success. When finally checking out I overheard other customers also complaining about this, so it might be something to look into. I have been assured that the excess hold will be lifted very shortly, but at this stage it is still appearing on my credit card statement. Other than this we were very happy with everything at this hotel.

« Rushed service, rather impersonal, many small details that don’t work »

Your staff doesn’t seem very happy to dobthe job, except porters. Question is whether their job conditions and managers are good... Repeated problems with TV, very outdated mivies on demand, pushy service at breakfast (bill presented & put on my table before we finished breakfast), lack of big plates (to make people eat less at the american buffet that is very expensive?), keys for the room and lift stopped wirking three times during our 36 hours stay, fridge / minibar got locked and wouldn’t open, when calling reception I was put on hold for 8 minutes, laundry sent at 8 am wasn’t returned by 6pm as written in your laundry sheet (I had to call and request it back), etc. etc

Sofitel Frankfurt truly does epitomise the Sofitel brand. From check in to checkout, we were greeted and served with warm hospitality and care. All staff were professional and intuitive of our needs.We were escorted to our room by the Guest Relation Manager who spend the time telling us what was on offer around the town and where to go. The room was spacious and well appointed, along with bathroom amenities. We were on the top floor and had some good views or the park below. Breakfast was always fresh and delicious, and their service was consistent on point whenever we were down there.I would definitely recommend this property as it’s central to Frankfurt city and near to a lot of attractions and transport, and the service from its personnel is outstanding.

« Amazing hotel - but operations outside of restaurant needs work »

Positive: Positive aspect of stay was Faisal in the restaurant. He did literally everything he could to help us feel comfortable and eat quickly after a long day of travel. The room, gym, and facilities were top notch also. Opportunities: Hotel operations when dealing with customers: In terms of opportunity areas, it took almost 2 weeks to get an email response regarding my reservation and rate update. No one was watching the email inbox while Annika was out on holiday. When we arrived at the hotel, the front desk clerk - andrew - was on the phone for 10 min before he helped us. Pretty silly that walk up customers had to wait for a telephone call. We travel often, and stay at a number of 5 star hotels. If this is going to keep up with that standard, the hotel needs to walk the customer experience from start to finish to improve how the customer feels during the entire journey.

« Great hotel at the heart of Frankfurt »

We booked two nights at the Sofitel Opera at the end of our holiday trip, as a way to treat ourselves, and I am pleased we did. The location of the Sofitel Opera is great, with easy access to the downtown Frankfurt area and an easy commute to the main train station. The room was comfortable and of good size, and while it was perfect for what we were looking for, I would say the tiles in the bathroom area were marked and looking like they need an upgrade. Great bed (very comfortable and perfect size), top notch toiletries, plenty of storage space for clothes and bags, all the extras one needs (robes, sleepers, hairdryer, complimentary water and, the cherry on the cake, a generous welcome glass of French champagne at the hotel bar. In the past, whenever I booked hotels in Germany, breakfast was included, but that has changed and I made the mistake of not having it included in our overnight rate, which was a shame. The hotel breakfast is very expensive and hard to justify as a separate bill, so if I had to call out one let down for us (it was a special stay also for us, as it was our anniversary celebration), it was having to go out in the morning to have breakfast at a cafe around the corner (not a big deal at all, as it was a short stroll away). Overall, would strongly recommend the hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again when passing through Frankfurt.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights post river cruise. The hotel is very well situated right next to the Opera and a very short walk to shopping, the Romer, and several restaurants. Check-in was a breeze and the staff was very courteous. The rooms are a very good size and are the normal Sofitel chic. We especially liked the hotel bar; it is large but very cozy and a wonderful selection of cocktails, beer and wine. The most impressive part of our stay were our two experiences with the concierge. #1) While talking with one concierge about dinner reservations, we reached a decision. You our surprise, the second concierge who was just coming on shift had instantaneously called the restaurant so our reservation was confirmed by the time we thanked the first concierge. #2) On the second night, our concierge made dinner reservations at another restaurant and asked us to come see him right before we left so he could direct us. Well, he actually escorted us to the restaurant in 38 degree weather!!! The only part of our stay that was not excellent was the breakfast value. A french continental was 23 euros and the full buffet was 30 euros. I didn't see the value in this but didn't want to leave the hotel for breakfast before our tour. We highly recommend a stay at the Sofitel Frankfurt Opera

Overall excellent. The only issue is the lighting control system in the room was extremely frustrating. We could not isolate groups of lights to turn on and off. Too many panels and switches and it was hard to figure out.

« Exceptional hotel with very friendly service »

We really enjoyed our stay at the Opera in Frankfurt. The hotel was beautiful and had a modern luxury feel. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The only annoyance was the €200 deposit on check in that could only be paid via credit card, but this did not affect our stay. We will definitely be returning to the Sofitel soon.
