« Major Improvement Needed (Dissatisfied Stay) »

Overall dissatisfy staying in Novotel Malacca. Wanted to try it out and tie up corporate stay but not recommended due to poor condition, lacking manpower and poor condition. 1) Hotel shortage manpower. Front desk check in & out needed to wait very long time. Limited front desk staffs. Dissatisfied. 2) Bfast cafe in lobby, shortage manpower. Leftover dishes were not cleaned up. Understood. Due to shortage manpower. Food taste was alright. 3) Room cleanliness were okay. However, were in bad condition. Headerboard light was not working. Desk wall lighting was not working. Shower blind were not functioning. Called front desk however electrician did not turn up. Understood due to shortage manpower. Whole night slept in a limited and dark room. Dissatisfied. 4) Amenities were not well prepared. No conditioner & lotion. Need to get staffs to prepare and send in. Alarm clock was not provided but has it in other unit rooms. 5) Very limited parking and no concierge. Not competitive versus other hotels such as Hatten and more. Overall dissatisfied experience. Demand a refund or compensation. Looking forward to hear from you. Thank you.

« Quality of service and room condition needs improvement »

Throughout my stay (total of 21 nights so far) over spans of 6weeks, I stayed in several rooms on 12th floor. Few of the rooms are having choked sink, shower curtain malfunction, etc. I have reported on 2 occassions, at least 2-3 times each but no action was taken. At times, towels are not fully replaced. Also, as Silver member (going to Gold soon), I did not receive those benefits (newspaper, welcome drink,..) as promised in the letter. This is by far very disappointing. I had no such experience staying in other corporate hotels, e.g. Hatten. Perhaps, it’s time to change.

One issue with room key If the room key does not work Staff must advise us to update both keys rather than updating it one key at a time.

« Unprofessional »

Came in the hotel having high expectations . After settling the rather hassling deposit and certain taxes , was invited to a room that doesn’t have working air conditioner , after calling numerous times , nobody helped us with the maintainence or room change . After bout an house finally someone came up and gave us the new room . All the room service was not good and have to wait an awful long time .

We spent a night in Melaka, charming cultural city in MY. Novotel provides its standard of services and facilities. Our night was very smooth and very comfortable. Executive suite staff was friendly and helpful.

IF I COMPARE WITH THE OTHERS HOTELS (4 STARS), NOVOTEL ROOM PRICE IS HIGHER..I PAID FOR THE ROOM 1 NIGHT IS ABOUT MYR 220 WITHOUT BREAKFAST..OVERALL ABOUT NOVOTEL MELAKA IS GOOD

Hotel was relatively new. It was nice but some things are not working well. Like the shower curtain and fridge were down. The room cAbinet came off and hit my leg unfortunately. Call for servicing but no one came. Housekeeping were ok. But they didnt provide towels after clean up. When ask for it the staff gave one and i requested for one more he mock me and laugh as if im lying to him when i said i didnt receive any. Breakfast spread was awesome. Hence the 5/10 rating. If not it would have been 2/10.

Nice clean room. Suite has a nice view of the Malacca Strait and access to the Executive Lounge. Check in is a breeze and they have upgraded the parking system for guests. Prefer to hv breakfast at the GF as it offers more variety.

« Good but not perfecf »

Overall is good. But only thing is the cleanliness issue. Toilet ventilation is bad come with a kind of smell. Door hinges for toilet stuck with dusts which is unacceptable as a Accor hotels.

Read some very negative review on here and was quite worried. However our experience was better than expected. Hotel location is great and room is comfortable. Some areas of room can be cleaner though. Alcoholic drinks in lounge too limited during happy hour.

Overall satisfied. Nice room, breakfast. Large pool for kids and adult. However, the coffee machine in executive room is not cleaned. The coffee bullet still inside the coffee machine ? Possible pest infestations

Staying for 3 nights the last night was feelin like sleeping next to a rock concert! My room was in 11th floor soo noisy from 12am till 4am cant sleep at all!

« moulds at shower area, lack of face and hand towels for entire stay of 3 nights »

Found moulds at shower area and lack of face and hand towels upon check in. Message the hotel the next day and hotel feedback that they are having high occupancy rate and having issue with their laundry. The mould will be rectified floor by floor. For the entire stay of 3 nights, only received the bath towels, hand and towels were not available. This hotel is not that old and the mould cannot appear overnight. They need to improve on the cleanliness.

« Good but parking system is stupid »

Room is comfortable, food is okay, but parking system brings a lot of inconvenience to the customers. One have to walk up and down up and down to change parking tickets for season parking card. Even make us to pay RM30 deposit. Give us so much trouble still want us to pay. Seriously stupid parking system.

« Overall hotel experience »

Check-in was a huge problem for us as it seems that the hotel was not able to fulfill our requests eventhough ive produced a black and white email. Have to wait for a full 1 hr before our issues was solved. Hotel counter staff not very experience in handling tacky issues. In the end the manager Ms Michelle step in to intervene which make our overall stay a pleasant one.
