I am a frequent guest at the Novotel Melaka. So much so that I signed on for the Accor Membership. Start with the positives.The online check in was good and quick. When I arrived at the hotel, I was able to get my room access card really quickly as well and this was fantastic. Areas where I felt there was a drop off. It was unfortunate that my stay coincided with a church retreat. I check in late in the evening but the corridors were noisy as there were several room guests going in and out of their rooms and some of them were very noisy. But the greatest impact was at the breakfast lounge... food was replenished so slowly, queues for eggs and coffee were so long that I gave up... I ended up barely eating and had to go off. I am disappointed as I had paid extra for the breakfast and the standard has been consistently dropping since my first time at the hotel 4 visits ago. Last point is a suggestion for front desk to ask check in guests if they drive and inform them of the system for free parking. In the past I needed to only bring my room card, car park entry ticket and put a deposit to have a season parking for the duration that I stay. This time I was not told I needed a green ticket slip at the front counter and because I did not have time to go back downstairs, I ended up paying for one of my exits. This could have been avoided if we were informed before hand.

Our stay (my family and I) was fine. Room size is just right. The hotel is not too crowded with guests. However there are many areas for improvement such as the following:- 1) check in services - waiting time was long, staff attended to other guests who walked in later than me. I have been waiting in front of their desks for 10 minutes but they didn’t bother to have eye contact with me. Though I’m a member, I didn’t experience any privileged treatment. 2) room - need better sound proofing. The aircon sound was loud and I could hear water-running-down the pipe sound when I was on the bed and not in bathroom. 3) housekeeping - one of our rooms had a weird herbal smell and the window was left opened which my husband a had hard time shutting it. toothbrush and toilet paper were not provided on the first night.

Wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the embience.

Overall Hotel is nice and staff are friendly. However the lack of follow-up did not help. I reported my spectacle was found missing in my room after retuning to the hotel in the evening. Hotel staff only check with house keeping to say nothing was found. I follow-up again the next day, and the hotel staff again only just check with house keeping. I insist to report a missing item but I have to check-out that morning. Staff mention will follow-up with email. However nothing was follow-up. Unfortunately I am only back to my home country recently and have no time to call the hotel.

Receptionist Service during checking is Good. Professional and and give a warm welcome. Staff are polite and keep an adequate smile during bringing in the additional bed. Security at the front entrance, greet client according.

My wife and i had a very pleasant stay last week. The room was well-planned and we were especially impressed with the layout of the bathroom and the thoughtful amenities. The staff at the front desk as well as at the lounge were helpful, attentive and polite. Perhaps a suggestion to improve on the buffet spread for the lounge as well as to include fruit juices for breakfast instead of the orange cordial and sarsi.

I really have high expectation when i first arrived in NOVOTEL Melaka as I'm a Accor Member as I always prefer to stay with Accor groups of hotels. But this time round, NOVOTEL Melaka is worst overall while my stay. The room is ok, comfortable but the bathroom is really disgusting as there are broken ceiling, missing cap for the basin, spider web on the lights, stickers on the glass door which is not clean, broken window blind & some missing info for the bathroom suis & broken door frame after closing the door on the entrance. This is not the worst part yet. The breakfast is the worst of the worst. All table lining up to be clean with NOT even a single table for me & my wife to sit after taking our food. I thought Melaka has a best food in town but not in NOVOTEL. The food is tasteless, the glass cup is not clean, the coffee machine with no coffee beans. I really have speechless while my stay in NOVOTEL. Many point has deducted & reputation has been damage.

The staff quite list. hostess just sit there. Then write room number ask us to go in ourselves. Then no assign table. Then wait staff also lost. Then all table dirty no setting. So we have to walk around and around and ask for a table. Then we request to clean all say ok. Then ask another person. Then another person ask another person. In the end no one set my table Then ask baby chair. Bring over then leave it at the service station. Got to ask another staff to bring to me. The food station is quite messy and no one at live cooking station. We asked for portion butter who claim don have. Suddenly later then serve portion butter out again. Everything was fine but breakfast spoil the whole experience

The front desk did not serve well and he didn’t keep my luggage properly, Besides, this Novotel does not have the cleanliness like other Novotel or Accor hotel I stayed before.

We have spent a day touring Malacca and checked in to Novotel by 11pm, hoping to get a good rest before we continue our 2nd day journey. Unfortunately, we got into the room with poor air conditioning and it is too warm to sleep in, so we have called reception to seek for assistance and we got informed by the reception that the whole building AC is malfunctioned and they do not know how long will it takes for it to be back. We have requested to get a full refund and check out immediately so we can go somewhere else but our request has been refused and there is no solution provided to us. We suffered the night till the AC is back. We slept by 2:30am, it wasn’t a pleasant experience and we didn’t have a good rest that day.

Great, early hotel staff arranged for early check-in and late check-out. Family enjoyed the swimming pool. The hotel location was very convenient to visit the historical sites in Malacca town.
