Took four attempts to find a room that I had requested. Breakfast hit-and-miss affair. Grumpy evening staff member. 20 euros per night to park. Ridiculously expensive, especially at this time of year. However, very good housekeeper who responded to our requests 100%.

Was Not very impressed to Find Car Park Charge had increased to 20 Euro a night, when i mentioned it to reception the response was well that is what it is, Can of coke was twice the price of shop 1 min walk away, Breakfast was also very expensive. again twice the price of a freshly cooked to order breakfast 2 mins away (I hate hotel breakfasts that have been sat under lights for who knows how long at ridiculously inflated prices)

« What depresses me... »

Staying with IBIS De Panne was, like the previous stays very OK. The only thing is, that asking my opinion, it has to be done in a foreign language!? Where did you loose my mothertongue data? This is Belgium, you know, and those things are kind of sensitive... Kind Regards

« Quality of reception desk extremely poor and disappointing »

We have been very disappointed at the complete absence of service and client orientation by a lady at the reception desk. It took us three attempts to be granted a well-suitable room, each time requiring to go up and down to an increasingly grumpy lady at the reception. At first, she provided us with a room with a roof window without pointing this to our attention. We then went back again to the reception where we were granted a room with two separate beds (yet again without further bringing this to our reception). A the third attempt, we were provided with a room in the 1st floor (despite having kindly requested a room in the higher floors, yet again without any further explanation provided). When mentioning that the reception might have to better point out specifics of rooms to customers, the reception lady made a disparaging expression of the face.

Rooms were modern and clean. Staff were friendly (and multi lingual). Location is central. Breakfast was good. The range of food available away from breakfast was slightly lacking. The beds being two singles pushed together and two single duvets (even though I booked a double room) were not very comfortable.

« One night en route to ferry »

De Panne is an ideal place to stay prior to catching an early boat from Duinkerk. Street parking for free is usually available as the Ibis is 15 minutes walk from the busy (summer) boulevard. I chose indoor parking with lift direct to rooms (quite expensive at 20 Euros/night). Rooms are very clean and fresh (good airco), smallish, but missing a small refrigerator and tea/coffee-making equipment (usually available in similar chain hotels). Friendly guys on desk and checkout at 6am was fast. I would have liked to see my A-Club member number on the invoice to prove points were added!
