My stay this time on this wing near to the bar is rather quiet . I was told they allocate me the room facing inside is less noisy so the room was smaller than the one I stayed previously. It would be good if there is a small convenience stall at the lobby like a 7-11 . Most of the guests stayed here would appreciate as they can get toiletries of their choice and tibits , drinks and so on .

Biggest suprise was breakfast. Usually at Ibises it is so called "continental breakfast" - some crossaints with jam and cup of coffee. Here it wasn't in fact a breakfast but real brunch with many tasteful dishes of local cuisine. As I had breakfast before all-day tour to Chiang Rai, I was very happy having opportunity to eat really valuable and yummy meal.

Hotel stay was generally OK. as mentioned above the location and traffic noise not ideal. On final day at hotel the front desk informed me it took about 15 minutes to get to the airport by taxi. A taxi was booked at 2.15 pm. It arrived at 2.27 pm. We arrived at the airport at 3.35 pm. We almost missed our flight. Sadly Chiang Mai is choked with traffic. Hotel staff should inform gusts to allow an hour to get to the airport.

While we are lucky to have a beautiful building, this does come with its limitations- in that the soundproofing (such as double glazing windows) we are able to do is limited. We are however endeavoring to completely overhaul the noise levels in rooms at the moment, so in the coming months noise in our entry level rooms should no longer be a problem. Due to the fact that It takes 20 minutes from hotel to the airport. During that time there has been an event at Chiang Mai University it may cause affect to traffic jam. What can I say is " Terrible", I understand that the hotel was built in 2011 and the facilities were old, but seem like your staff did not realize about this. I got the room that the air conditioner was broken twice. The first time is air conditioner has a loud noise so I got a new room and a second time, the air conditioner was not only had a loud noise but also had water leaked. Moreover, I heard the sound of water flow above the TV near the fire sprinkler. I heard it around 11.30 pm to 2.30 am so I can't sleep and scared that bad thing may happen. So I called the front desk again around 2.30 am. to find out what was above the TV, Is it a toilet or not?, the staff said they will send a mechanic to solve the problem, but I understand that it's too late to do this. I don't want to bother them. But When I check-out your staff said " The room that complaint !?" with an annoying face! Wow, I really appreciated with this action. No explanation No apology. There is a nice way to explain to your customer and keep track of the problem, right? Instead of having a bad mood. We complain about THINGS, not People, but your staff did not understand this and make it to personal. So after this thing happens, my family and I will not stay at your hotel anymore.

1) The edges (corners) of the bed frame is shape which may hurt your legs. 2) Notices of "free" water provided by hotel in the fringe would be better. 3) The shower place has no anti-slip mat which may cause minor accidents. 4) A friendly notice of the swimming pool access would be good, if we dont know whether is open or not.

Overall staying at the Ibis Styles Chang Mai was an excellent experience. The room was large, the bed comfortable and bathroom surprisingly spacious and modern. Breakfast solid with good asian and western options. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a pleasant neighborhood but is not within walking distance to the historic district. Great price for a very nice hotel. The trade off is the distance to the touristy areas.
