I am delighted you found the location ideal for your stay but that the central location also proved to be a negative aspect of your time with us. I am very sorry if our very central and lively location came as a surprise to you. Due to our location I am afraid external noise will never be something we can avoid. However, should you wish to stay again we would be delighted to look at alternative room placement in the hotel which may be less affected by external noise. Staff were friendly and hotel is conveniently located. There must be a lot of wastage at the hotel though. I stayed 2 nights and had a bar of soap replaced after one use as well as new shower gel and shampoo after day 1. No problem with putting more in the room but taking away (and proabably throwing away) unused stuff isn't in tume with the environment.

After having to move rooms due to sewage coming up through our bathroom sink which wasn’t pleasant at all we eventually had a nice stay. The staff were polite and friendly and the location of the hotel was excellent for us.

« Bed lovely comfy big; bathroom floor very sticky, breakfast very expensive; unattractive room, few facilities, could be so much better with little effort. »

The girls on reception were excellent, the best bit about the hotel. Very outdated room decor, good air con, very central excellent, trying to drive there a nightmare, actually impossible, don’t attempt it, go straight to car park.

Dear Sir / Madam, Thank you for your review. I am sorry to see you didn’t like the choice of decor. Our rooms have all been recently decorated and the feedback has only been overwhelmingly positive. However, I absolutely appreciate no design choice will be to everyone’s liking and I am therefore in turn very sorry it wasn’t to yours. I am also sorry you found finding the hotel to be difficult. Indeed Nottingham does have a tricky one way system and I am sorry if you had difficulty with this. Our unlimited breakfast buffet at £9.95 is priced extremely competitively within the city when comparing like for like hotels. I am therefore very sorry you found this to be overpriced. « Lovely room but very noisy »

The room was lovely, apart from the dirty toilet, which was promptly sorted once reported to reception. Was a bit shocked to see ear plugs on bedside table as no mention on website of rooms being noisy, unlike other hotel websites in Nottingham. We have stayed in several hotels in Nottingham, as our son is studying at the university and would have appreciated the heads up on noise issues. Apart from the noise hotel staff friendly, breakfast tasty and room comfortable.

From check in to check out everything was perfect. Reception staff and breakfast staff couldn't have been more genial. Having been upgraded to a suite which was totally unexpected was such a treat! Almost everything was perfect in the room except the vanity mirrors which was difficult to use as the sink was in the way and being a short person made it difficult to do my makeup. Everything else was gorgeous.

« Very convenient hotel, comfortable and well maintained. »

1 night booked in the Mercure prior to a work meeting in Nottingham. Great location - very convenient, direct tram to Station (or easily walk able if not raining!). Room was comfortable although slightly small - however for the price I can't complain. Breakfast was reasonable. Check-in/check-out were simple. Overall a very pleasant experience.

« Great location and well appointed rooms. »

Very satisfied. Did have some issues with overheating other guests actitivites throughout the night but the hotel is extremely old so understand why sound proofing might be difficult. Staff at checkin and concierge great. Ate in the Curious Tavern which was excellent. Nice rooms. Excellent location.
