« Disappointing despite good location »

Throughout the night I was woken up with noise from the bar throwing bottles, lots of running and shouting down the corridors and noise from what I can only assume were vents. The room was small but adequate and was perfect for one nights stay, although would be better if tea/coffee facilities were included. Breakfast was lovely, however the man who greeted us was a bit rude and unhelpful.

With regards to the noise externally ( throwing of bottles ), this will be from bars which surround us and not our own bar but I do apologize should the noise from our central location proved to be nosier than expected. We do conduct walks of all hotel floors every 30 minutes throughout the evening and night. Should any guests be found to be making noise during these walks they are asked to quieten down. Of course should any guests make noise between these walks we welcome any guest informing us by calling reception ( open 24 hours ) and we will then immediately deal with any offending guests. I apologize further for your fellow guests disturbing you during your stay with us. Tea & Coffee making facilities are available in all bedrooms and in the room allocated to you can be found on the shelf within the wardrobe. Thank you for your very kind comments with regards to breakfast. I will be delighted to share this with the team. I wish to offer a further apology for anything that was less than friendly during your experience with reception. I thank you for this feedback and will speak to the individual to ensure they do not offer anything less than a warm and welcome experience to our guests. « Great location in a friendly and welcoming hotel »

We always get an incredibly warm welcome from the lovely ladies on the front desk. They are always smiling and happy to see us. Nothing is too much trouble for them. We especially appreciated the upgrade to Room 503, one of the suites. It's a lovely room and we love the extra space. The location of the hotel is perfect for any number of things to do in the centre of Nottingham, being just on the Lace Market and a £1 ride on the tram. Highly recommended. We can't wait to go back in a couple of weeks.

It's an OK hotel. I was there for a couple of nights. The room was unusually decorated but sizewise it was OK. My colleagues complained that they had small rooms. I was slightly concerned about having ear plugs by the side of the bed when I entered the room. It doesn't set a very good expectation. As it was, I do think that the hotel is unusually noisy in the night. i am not sure where the noise came from but there was, what i can only describe as, a mechanical noise. it wasn't a wine or a hum but there was a consistent background noise all night. It's almost as though there was air conditioning running all night but I had nothing running in my room. Also I am concerned about the environmental policy. I supected that, like most hotels, if you want your towels changing you leave them in the bath but if you are happy to reuse them you simply hang them up? I hung my towels but when i came back in the afternoon I had fresh towels. No one needs towels changing after just one use. This creates more laundry and has a major impact on the environment. The hotel would not be my first choice in the area.

Where this is not our smallest room grade it is still one of our smaller room types. All information with regards to room sizes can be found on all booking channels for guests to take into consideration. You colleagues may have booked our City Pad room grade which is smaller than the Standard King booking by yourself. Our Privilege rooms and Suites are our larger room grades and may be worth considering should you wish to stay with us again. I have been to investigate the noise you mention in the room you have booked. At present I have experienced no such noise but will continue to monitor this and thank you for bringing this to my attention. Thank you also for informing me of the towels which were refreshed in the room. The environment is very important to us and we do operate the procedure of only replacing towels if they are left on the floor or bath. Not when hung up. I can see one of our brand new housekeeping attendants serviced your room so will ensure they are retrained with regards to this. « Good service. Good facilities and breakfast with some minor quibbles. »

Good room facilities, well furnished, TV was fine. Shower sImple to use and good. The bed was reasonable but just seemed a bit lumpy, certainly not the best hotel bed I have experienced. Breakfast service was good and fast, cereal and fruit selection good, cooked breakfast was decent but not outstanding. Check in and check out service were both quick and efficient.

Really enjoyed the stay, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent. My only negative comment is on the noise from the floor above (the 4th) - there was a lot of very heavy movement that was rather disturbing.

« Clean and tidy room, had everything required for my stay. »

I only had one issue while staying in the hotel, I have stayed a number of times now for business. On my last visit the room door did not automatically close behind me which was fine I could push it closed. However on returning from work after the room had been cleaned, my door was not closed properly therefore had been open whilst I was at work.

Booked in as a treat for my father in laws 70th for them and my husband and I. First impressions great- beautifully decorated, great quirky, cosy bar area- more like a charming pub than a hotel bar. Rooms were fine- one smaller than the other but had everything we needed. The negative would be the temperature control in the rooms! Parents was freezing when we got in, ours was fine. In the middle of the night the heater came on and our smaller room became stuffy and absolutely boiling! We woke up in the middle of the night (must have been set high/ on a timer as I did check it wasn't on before we went to bed) with a headache and we struggled to get the temp down- the aircon unit was too noisy so resorted to open window so had a terrible nights sleep. Fire alarm went off at 11.30 which woke the parents (and a lot of folks on our floor) up. The breakfast was brilliant, great quality options and plenty there. Coffee/ tea was luke warm. Did raise the temperature issue with manager who did apologise but we didn't feel like anything would be done.

I was on a training course in Nottingham and was looking for a location close by. The Mercure is city centre yet my room was quiet and the bed was comfortable so I had a really good night's sleep. The 1st floor bar and brasserie was welcoming and the food was good. I would be happy to book into that hotel again.

Great customer service . They gave me a slightly bigger suite which helped as it was my bday. Only issue was cleanliness - we had a cup unwashed, there was mascara on our bath mat and the air conditioning didn’t work. However these were all tiny compared with the amazing service we had. The location is fab, bed very comfy and it’s pretty quiet. We had a great night sleep. And the breakfast was delicious!!!!
