« Payment confusing »

Stay was OK however I pre paid with Accor (booking confirmation noting nothing to pay at hotel) but the hotel insisted that I pay again when I checked out. I needed to catch a train so had not time to argue. My issue is that Accor don't reply to on-line complaint messages I send and after I called them directly they advised that I should contact the hotel directly. The sensible way to do this is by e-mail because verbally by phone will probably lead to communication frustration - and the hotel website does not show an e-mail address!! Not sure yet how I am going to resolve this.

Front desk staff were generally helpful, however some had difficulty conversing in English, so although I'm not fluent in Mandarin, I used it in order to reach a conclusion with what I was asking. Regarding local tours, I'm not sure if it's a hotel concierge problem or a general problem with Guiyang tour operators, where hotel concierge could not help me connect with a tour operator to join a day tour to Miao villages or to Qingyan or Huangguoshu. I was told to get a China local phone number to talk to the tour operator whereas in many other cities around the world, a pickup time at the hotel or a nearby location could be arranged for me to join a tour. I was disappointed that even if I was willing to join a tour conducted in Mandarin, the concierge could not help me.. Finally, although I had agreed to prepay Accor (with my credit card) for my final night and Accor had stated on my booking confirmation email that I did not have to pay the hotel, I was informed at check-out that I had to pay. After some discussion the front desk manager Owen agreed to wait 2-3 weeks for me to check my credit card bill after my trip.

This is a hotel I like for vacation: room was neat and clean, and staff s were nice andefficient. Its booking systems is not updated and suffers losing profit because it forces customers to book through 3rd party for best deal instead of from front desk. The drawback is that the cafe is outsourced and overpriced with little choice of food.

It was our first visit to Guiyang and we were fortunate to receive very friendly welcome and helpful advice by the reception staff. The cleaning lady in the Executive Lounge was also very cheerful and we’d a nice conversation with her about people and places of interest in Guizhou in general. There were a variety of Chinese and Western items for breakfast which we enjoyed.

I booked a room with 2 rooms. It was nice that they upgraded us to a suite, but it was because they didn't have another choice. We were informed that there were no more rooms with 2 beds. They had to give us a suite with a king bed and place a small extra bed in the living room. Hair dryer seems old i think? The rubber handle was a little sticky already.

« Access to the premier lounge was a joke! No air conditioning, you needed to call for service and in English this was extremely difficult. »

Location is great... premier lounge, as mentioned above, not worth a visit. That section of the hotel should be closed. It is embarrassing. When trying to order a glass of wine be in the lobby bar I was first told they only sold bottles... although the menu stipulated wine was available in glass quantities and also buy purchasing the bottle. After speaking to a third person I was about to get a glass of wine. Queenie was very helpful and apologetic on the hotel's behalf. Tired and over rated and over priced.
