Overall my stay was really wonderfull. Front Desk was really attentive with all my request. Room was clean and housekeeping did a good job. Things to improve only on F&B Buffet Breakfast and Service and cleanliness of utensils below PAR for 3 stars hotel.

« ‘Ibis budget’ may be more appropriate »

Check-in was reasonably simple once the receptionist ended his personal mobile phone conversation. The corridor on our allocated floor smelt of cigarette smoke and our room was even worse, despite this being a non smoking hotel. We found the restaurant and bar to be closed, on further investigation we were informed that they only open during breakfast hours. During our two night stay we only encountered a total of 5 staff members, two of which were security guards. On the plus side, the hotel is well located for restaurants, bars and mini marts, which is fortunate as you will be unable to access any facilities in the hotel itself. As a, reasonably well travelled, Le Club Accor member I have to say I am surprised that this hotel has been placed in the ‘ibis styles’ category. Perhaps the vibrant paint job, not recent, is the key to its 3 star ‘ibis styles’ allocation.

Great location as easy access to food, entertainment & grocery. Helpful staff. But the housekeeping need to be improved as the bed-sheet & duvet can be found still possess stains & stain marks.

« The stay was satisfactory but the housekeeping coud be better. »

The check in and check out was smooth and the counter staff (Mr. Khairul) was very cooperative and helpful. The room was clean and well ventilated but did not have a wardrobe. The mattress had sunk in the mid section and had become too soft for comfortable sleep. Another aspect which I did not like is the housekeeping. We had to ask for basic items like soap almost everyday as it was not available when we returned in the evening. same was the case with tea bags and creamer. Of course, the staff was very courteous and responded immediately to our call, but the need for our call could have been avoided in the first place.

the food was substandard, same food everyday. It is just nasi lemak with sausages, noodles, porridge, plain soup. I can get better just by walking a few blocks. Come on. The room was not good enough, i thought the standard of this hotel is no shampoo and no shower gel but on my second day, both were supplied to my room. So it means that the first day, they missed out the shower gel and shampoo. TV channels selection was bad, 2-3 Chinese channel without subs, no movies channel. I should have trusted the trivago website that ranks this hotel satisfactory to just 3 stars.

Overall we had a good stay. The front desk clerks are friendly, attentive and professional. During our stay, there was a couple of nights the fifth floor hallway alarm went off around 2am ish.

I'm a regular at Ibis Cheras, staying here at least 4 times a year whenever I'm in KL. Overall, this stay was good. I reported an air-conditioning problem in my room when I went out on my second day, but this was only taken care of by the night technical officer after I reported it again when I came back in the evening. Glad it was a simple problem, or else I would have had a second night with "warm" air-conditioning. Also, glad to see that Ibis has replaced its old set of towels. Ibis Cheras is my hotel of choice when I visit KL.
