« One night business trip »

Receptionist was rude and did not give any greeting after I said good evening his answer was what is your name .... I repeated good evening but did not get anything better in return ... Smallest breakfast buffet I've seen in a mercure and such a small room it feels so cramped and uncomfortable ... The site of the hotel mention parking available but it is street parking Room was nice and spacious

« Very enjoyable stay »

Staff efficient, friendly and welcoming. The room was large with two windows. Away from any noise of main street. The bed was very comfortable. Good location, convenient for local shopping areas. Nice arte deco decor in the public areas. Excellent dinner and our steaks were cooked to perfection. Some parking available underneath the hotel - very tight maneuvering but manageable and secure area.

Wonderful hotel, lot of charm. The bedrooms are very good and the beds are excellent. Breakfast contained everything we would have hoped. The service is also excellent, so definitly an hotel I would go back

We visited the hotel as it was convenient for a dog show. Our dogs could stay in the room. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Local exercise areas were difficult to find but not a big problem as we were only there overnight Found a lovely local restaurant for our evening meal The food staff and local people were fun even with neither parties having a grip on the others language

This hotel was most difficult to find once in the town as there are no signs for it. We found our room rather basic and small. One evening main meal was fine the other over cooked and dry . Staff were fine and helpful. So overall an K visit once we found hotel.

We needed a short stay at this hotel. The restaurant was closed during our visit ( until 29th August 2013) but there are plenty of bars and cafes in the city centre. This did not affect breakfast which catered for a wide range of tastes. There is an underground car park which costs 10 euro's but we were not charged for our stay. The entrance is a bit tight so hold your breath when you drive in! The lift goes down to the basement which is handy.

I booked at short notice and got good deal for 87€. Comfortable room, buffet breakfast with hot and cold options. The hotel parking has acceptable fares but you can easily park in the surroundings for free at night. Very close to the center.

Mercure Lille Roubaix is a nice hotel, conveniently located with subway to Lille just around the corner on the Grand Place. We booked the Standard Room, which I found a little bit small for Mercure standards, and the window looked out on a wall, but it was ok for a few nights. Beds are quite good. Although the restaurant does not have any vegetarian dishes on its menu, the chef is happy to improvise with pasta and rice. Main courses are priced reasonably. Breakfast is ok for 14 euro per person, however, the bio/organic breakfast that is advertised throughout the hotel and in elevators is not up to standards. There was organic yoghurt, cereal and milk, but one would expect a little bit more to get through the morning. Reception is very friendly in general and it is no problem to get free Wifi codes. In my case Wifi did not work well, with having to reconnect every 5 minutes and enter login and password every time. I was using an iPhone 5 so would expect this to work flawlessly. Reception gave me a new code, but the problem persisted. There is a garage underneath the hotel, but only for small cars and/or good drivers, as the entrance is not very wide. I managed to park there with a Citroen C5 but only after folding in the side mirrors.

Lovely hotel right in the centre. Parking charge was reasonable at €10 - it is a very small underground car park with a steep ramp. Helpful staff got the car parked across the entrance moved. The area around the hotel felt edgey, there were enough restaurants to choose from very close by and the hotels own restaurant looked good but quiet. The remains of what looked like a room service meal was left beside the lift for more than 18 hours.
