« Really nice hotel, well located in London »

It was great, room was very comfortable and well equipped. Hotel was very clean and with a good layout, plenty of lifts to prevent long waits. WiFi was fantastic. Located perfectly for getting easily around London, lots of sights within a 30 minute walk and literally 30 seconds away from Southwark tube station or a 10 minute walk to either Blackfriars or Waterloo. Plenty of restaurants and supermarkets close by.

At arrival, the bathroom door was not able to close. And it was a terrible smell inn the room. There was a good service when we called the reception, the door was fixed and we changed the room the second Day when the smell was still there after the night. Both things should have been noticed by the staff before we did, though. Breakfast was a dissapointment unfortunately, forks and knifes were out for about 10 minutes several days, we had to wait for bread the same amount of time. We understand that it was a busy periode, but it was still stressfull for us. When the fire alarm went of, the staff seemed to be dissapeared. No information was given.

« Not as expected »

There was no room service!! i had to carry my luggage all my own. Got room after 2 pm!! I had to change in the common washrooms. Also, the room was small for the price i paid without the breakfast!!

« Definitely a Budget Stay, but a Nice Breakfast »

Overall, our stay was ok. The hotel certainly had a 'budget' feel - thin mattresses, thin duvets, thin towels - and was a bit tired (scuffed paint, watermarked shower heads). But the biscuits in the room were nice, and the breakfasts were good.

« Booking and Check-in was difficult »

It took about 3 days to figure out how to book. Ibis site did not let me book. Finally Expedia did. Booked for an early Check-in with a guaranteed credit card. At check-in was told to wait ten minutes. After an hour waiting was told that I didn't pre-pay which is why I didn't get my room at early check-in. There was no way to pre-pay during booking. Others came in, payed, got a room. It would have been nice to be told this from the get-go. Only after asking did I get the room.

« Overall a great start, a few issues, rapidly resved »

As a location, very handy for London city and DLR via Jubilee, also the Tate, Old and New Vic and the Globe, lots of excellent eateries locally, would recommend as a slightly out of town base for exploring London. Check in was efficient, the staff friendly and promptly helpful. On going to bed we noted that the bathroom was leaking into the floor near the doorway. First thing the next morning a maintenance worker was sent, and a like for like room swap to a nearby room arranged to fit around our day. Breakfast was excellent, although a low tech alternative to the temperamental coffee machines might be an idea. Staff very happy to securely store our bags after checkout.

« Cheap hotel was cheap but location was amazing »

The hotel was what you’d expect for how cheap it was and the location, but the room was very small and basic and the bathroom was very weird, thin walls, dodgy doors etc. all forgiveable for the price and location but definitely not anything special. Staff at the restaurant were very friendly however, other staff not so much.

« A surprisingly excellent choice »

I am a regular client of Ibis hotels all around Europe and this particular hotel was a great choice for our short stay in London. At first we were a bit concerned about its location but it turned out to be another good surprise. It is right next to the Southwark underground station and it has many restaurants and supermarkets at a few meters distance. The hotel restaurant is also very good and we ended up having dinner a few nights indoors to avoid going out on the cold. I highly recommend it.

« Too Good and Excellent Staff. »

It was my first stay in London with my wife. We both were too happy from the experience staff people provided before, during and after my booking. Before: I requested a room with a nice view and wrote an email to the team. To be honest, the manager replied back to my email in a few hours itself. This was very satisfying. During: We were surprised with a note from the team as it was my honeymoon trip. This was very sweet. Really appreciate the team for that. Very nice staff in all sections. They were very kind and helpful whenever it's needed. I was thinking to try the food from the menu but had to settle with the Christmas menu on 25th December which as not to our taste but fine since we were late. After: I wanted to keep our luggages in the lobby since I had booked my room at IBIS Styles Heathrow and wanted to go to other room only in the late evening as it was away from the city centre. To my surprise, I was told to keep my luggages in my vacated room itself till evening. This was a nice gesture. Finally, I and wife would like to thank the IBIS Blackfriars team, thank you for taking care of us. Regards, Sujith

« Old hotel but great location »

The receptionist was OK... very fast checking in.. the process was easy and comfortable.. But we are quite disappointed by the room.. We expect more from ibis group.. It was such an old hotel with musty feeling and smell.. We arrived the for Christmas.. They didn't do any ROOM CLEANING on 25th Dec.. when we complained.. they easily said "we have 300 rooms here.. it should be done anytime today." So we go out again for afternoon tea and stroll along the Thames river... When we got back.. they hang a bag infront of our door... consisting of new towels and soms toilet paper.. The room??? Nahhhh... THEY DIDN'T CLEAN IT.. We are very disappointed...
