I traveled to London to sit an exam. The staff had been told by my family and left a very thoughtful encouragement note in my bedroom, asked how things went and were incredibly attentive and caring. Not only is this hotel ideally located, very clean and comfortable, the food at the restaurant is delicious, the breakfast buffet is fantastic... So customer satisfaction is at its top. And then there is the extra, unvaluable addition to the experience of such an attentive and personalized quality of service. It really says a lot about how a well-managed, happy team can add a wonderful sense of human touch to an experience in a chain hotel. The team members love their job and are not afraid to share the joy and it is fantastic! Thank you Paulina and the whole team!!!

« A really old fashioned room with substandard facilities and the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in »

The reason this review got two stars rather than one is that my room was clean, tidy, very quiet and the location was good. Other than that, not so good. The reception area is bright and well designed. It lulled me into a false sense of security. Stepping into my room I found myself transported back in time. A really bland, cold room with a 'pod' bathroom (totally inaccessible for those with disabilities as there was a big step to get into the pod). Not even a hint of even corporate art on the walls. The desk space was so small I couldn't get my laptop open on it and, if I wanted to boil the kettle I had to remove my laptop completely because the only plug point was nowhere near the refreshment tray. The only chair in the room looked like it came from a 1950s schoolroom and was really uncomfortable. I was not allowed a real spoon for making tea - I had to make do with a plastic one. The final nail in the coffin for this stay was the bed. It appeared to be home made; just chunks of wood screwed together with (broken) wooden slats. The 'mattress' was like concrete and was topped with a 1 inch foam topper. Add to this pillows that felt like they were filled with rocks - I had one of the most dreadful nights ever. The funniest thing? The following morning I received an email from you telling me about your easy check out procedure and asking me about my great sleep in your incredibly comfortable beds. That didn't go down well!

Pleasant as the location is very good for me. However, I do not like the modern Ibis 'relaxed' reception area where its often hard to know who is doing what. I waited quite few minutes as no one was at the reception when I arrived and I had no way of finding anyone. Then the receptionist was not really 'au fait' with the payment record system and if I had not provided proof of payment, I might have paid double.

This is my first time to London United Kingdom. I was stay at the hotel for 4 night. At from the first at check in till check out. Staff at the front desk is very professional. They helping me a lot and guide me what to do in London. Especially Soraya. She is very professional helping to book my tour and recommend things that should do while is my first time to the city. Staff at the restaurant are also very polite. Breakfast was fantastic and many varieties. Housekeeping staff always refresh my room everyday and the room was very clean. The hotel is very central and very closed to all the tourist attraction.

Staff were polite and pleasant. Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel was located conveniently near where we needed to be. There was however no fridge in the room (this may be useful for those who have medications that need to be kept cold.)

It was a wonderful experience. Everything was fine. Room was clean ,cost and quiet. Nice hotel. The only thong that I would like to see in the hotel for your own safety is a mirror on the wall opposite the kitchen entrance so that the staff will see one another going in and out. The rest is all excellent. Keep up the good work. Thanks.

« Really nice hotel, well located in London »

It was great, room was very comfortable and well equipped. Hotel was very clean and with a good layout, plenty of lifts to prevent long waits. WiFi was fantastic. Located perfectly for getting easily around London, lots of sights within a 30 minute walk and literally 30 seconds away from Southwark tube station or a 10 minute walk to either Blackfriars or Waterloo. Plenty of restaurants and supermarkets close by.

At arrival, the bathroom door was not able to close. And it was a terrible smell inn the room. There was a good service when we called the reception, the door was fixed and we changed the room the second Day when the smell was still there after the night. Both things should have been noticed by the staff before we did, though. Breakfast was a dissapointment unfortunately, forks and knifes were out for about 10 minutes several days, we had to wait for bread the same amount of time. We understand that it was a busy periode, but it was still stressfull for us. When the fire alarm went of, the staff seemed to be dissapeared. No information was given.

There was no room service!! i had to carry my luggage all my own. Got room after 2 pm!! I had to change in the common washrooms. Also, the room was small for the price i paid without the breakfast!!

« Definitely a Budget Stay, but a Nice Breakfast »

Overall, our stay was ok. The hotel certainly had a 'budget' feel - thin mattresses, thin duvets, thin towels - and was a bit tired (scuffed paint, watermarked shower heads). But the biscuits in the room were nice, and the breakfasts were good.
