A nice, clean friendly hotel. The room was spacious and clean Staff were helpful both at reception and the restaurant. The food in the restaurant was very good, as was breakfast though I did not have a cooked breakfast. Easy to find a few minutes walk from Southwark tube station

As usual the service levels were excellent from check-in to the restaurant staff. The room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good. The location worked out great for us with the underground station just two blocks away. And a short work over the river to great pubs. With all this the value was great knowing how expensive London can be.

Great Location for our Half Term London Trip

We were looking for a good base for our half term trip to London. I automatically look for hotels on the North side of the Thames, but the pool (ideal to enjoy a relaxing and fun swim with our 8yr old daughter) and saunarium led me to consider the Novotel Blackfriars. This was a stroke of good fortune as the location (southwark tube - 2/3 mins walk) and an easy walk to Covent Garden, The Shard, Borough Market, London Bridge, Tower of London and Tower Bridge was really good. As a platinum ClubAccor member we were upgraded to an 13th Floor Executive room, which was well appointed and spotlessly clean with a good view to the North of the Thames. Our room was ready when we arrived at 1pm and our welcome to the Hotel warm and friendly. We used the Jamboree restaurant to grab some lunch and immediately relaxed in the buzzy atmosphere and enjoyed good quality food and drinks with exceptionally friendly service. Breakfast was a pleasure each morning and the Leisure facilities were 'small, but perfectly formed', modern in style and very clean. This is a real bonus for a hotel in central London. The only thing that would have improved the stay was a supply of umbrella's to borrow when the British weather at the start of Nov is 'typical'. A small point, which in no way would prevent our hearty recommendation of Novotel London Blackfriars for both business and pleasure.

Lovely large spacious room, very clean with attentive, friendly staff in a hotel with good facilities. Breakfast was poor. A lot of items had run out and were slow to be replenished. The coffee machine was malfunctioning and nobody was bothered to correct the issue. They were short staffed and less attentive than the rest of the staff we experienced during our stay.

Great location , just 100m from Southwark tube. clean, big , equipped room . A nice little pool . Sauna , no Jacuzzi. Good restaurant. Welcoming staff , fast check in. We were very happy with our hotel choice (6 nights)

I need to aks for a change of the room (originally provided was a disabled room and after that a standard room - receptionist was not aware he provided a disbled room first). Breakfast is relatively weak: assortiment (choices) and support. Standard room is good.

We like staying with you - your family-friendly policies make you a go-to hotel for us. There were a few little niggles on this stay though - the shower in the bathroom (of room 512) had a leak that sprayed water on the ceiling and flooded the bathroom. We reported this on our second day, but it had not been fixed by the time we checked out. In addition, the right-hand wardrobe door was coming off its hinges, and the remote control for the television had a loose connection - we frequently had to fiddle with the batteries to get it working. Nothing major though, and the service was very good.

Nice hotel, could have done with a better welcome, I had no idea what and where breakfast was and how to get to my room. The reception area looked as though it was for members only. Room was clean but very basic, bed too hard. Would be nice to have conditioner as well as shampoo and shower gel.

A warm greeting when checking in, staff very helpful and courteous, a simple, process. The service in the restaurant in the evening was poor. After being shown to a table, the waitress advised she will return soon. At this point, I was not provided with a menu. Despite the restaurant looking quiet with many empty tables, after 10 minutes, I was acknowledged by another waitress who said she'd be over in a minute. I still had no menu. After the waitresses seated 4 more tables after I'd sat down (they had menus) and 20 minutes later, despite 2 acknowledgements I left and ate elsewhere. Breakfast the next morning was fine, although when I asked for a receipt, I was simply given the print out of my payment; no detail what the payment was for. I requested this at reception and after conversations with 3 members of staff, this was made available at check out. Despite this, there was plenty of choice; I'd chosen to arrive when the restaurant was considered quiet by the signs in the lift (helpful advice) so this was a pleasant experience. I was at a conference the next day at the hotel, the food and drink facilities throughout the day was fantastic, great choices and well organised, great job!
