« Very nice hotel in a convenient area. »

I liked the Novotel. It was clean, comfortable and convenient. Room was very nice. Had a minor problem with the air conditioning, but it was rectified quickly. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I am use to the Novotel at Canary Wharf for months now, and there is nothing to compare with. Rooms, tv screen and breakfast are clearly better, a lot better. For similar prices. Disappointed.

« Friendly, clean - a recommended stay »

Staff were amazing on arrivial. Attentive and relaxed. Asked why we were staying in London. I mentioned it was an anniversary. When we got "home" that evening there was balloons, card and the offer of some bubbles! Loved the shower / bedroom screen! Room was comfy and well equipped. Pool was quiet and clean. Didn't eat in the restaurant however did have a couple of cocktails as a nightcap - not recommended, sadly neither drink living up to expectations Would definitely stay again. Close to train and underground. A good find for a break away

I found the staff friendly and helpful, I found the facilities adequate but I found the breakfast sub-standard. While the choice of food looked good, the cooked food (particularly scrambled and fried eggs) over-cooked, badly presented and stale despite being in for breakfast prior to 07:30 both mornings.

« Good Value but needs more "I can help with that" attitutde »

This hotel has nice rooms, great breakfast, a good pool (strange cold bubble pool) and is located in an area not great but not bad. What the hotel really needs is more of a "can do" and "I can help you with that" attitude. There is one person at the hotel with that attitude and that is Sara at the Front Desk. Everyone there should follow her lead. She was attentive to our needs and if she didn't know or have the answer, she didn't say she didn't know, she said that she would find out and get back to us. Everyone else acted liked we were a bother. Value good. Food good (although no real vegetarian choices). Pool ok. Rooms ok.

Mixed feelings. Good location, nice room. However I head a feeling of quite disorganized approach and service to Platinum member. I arrived in the hotel around 12.30. Room was not ready until 14.00. I would think that room for Platinum member should be cleaned first. If even not, I don't see a reason that it took 1,5 hours to make it cleaned once I showed up. Room itself was nice. However I guess that for Platinum member something better was available - higher floor, more windows (room was very dark). Bathroom in my opinion was missing toilet brush. As far as checkin is concerned it was nice and adequate that as no room upgrade was possible, free bf was offered. Even though it took 1,5 hours to wait for the room, it was not fully prepared. Later there was a person coming with water, and later again another person with welcome gift. Quite annoying and disturbing peaceful stay. After first night I got a note to contact front desk regarding payment guarantee. I don't understand why enough authorization was not made at checkin. When I contacted FO it appeared I didn't need to make any further authorization. Again annoying. Other annoying thing was that my card didn't work in the pool door (I filled out the form). I had to contact FO again. I was happy with the service in the restaurant (BF and lunch). Very nice Spanish guy (Catalonyan actually). Something I greatly disliked was long island iced tea. It was worst I ever had. I don't know why, one of the ingredients was Jack Daniels. I haven't ever seen this drink to include whiskey.

From the start, the welcome into the hotel was great. Staff friendly & attentive. I requested a room with a view & had a lovely view of the shard! It was for a special occasion & they added cute extras to the room. The spa area & gym was really nice. Everything was great. Wish there was more milk altwrnatives at breakfast, such as almond or coconut milk.

This hotel was consistent with what I expect from Novotel. Front Desk staff was excellent, they were very professional. The mornings at the front desk are a little crazy though, could use a bit more staffing. Room was clean and convenient for our family trip.

Room was clean and well located; breakfast is medium because whole grain bread is missing and scrambled egg does not have any taste - it is cooked too long, choice of breakfast is ok if you stay 1 day but for longer stays it is not enough choice The pool is ok but too many children; parents rather used it as a playground

Sadly our stay was over the London Bridge incident. However, the response, caring, nurturing and generous approach of all the staff was amazing. It made us feel very safe and in a caring and supportive environment. All the staff were checking everyone was ok, sharing breakfast with people etc. such a tragic day but surrounded by such a warm and caring team at Novotel. Turned a tragic day into one full of support and care from complete strangers.

Adequate room. Faulty curtain lets too much light too early in the Morning. People at the front desk were fantastic! Thanks a lot to them! Location is great - just minutes from Underground station, supermarkets and a couple of good restaurants.

The trip was for business and pleasure and this was a great location for both. Friendly staff, easy check-in and check-out, great WiFi connectivity, and the included breakfast was good and convenient. Close walking distance to a tube station, Imperial War Museum, and restaurants along the river. The rooms were well maintained and comfortable.

We had a need to do some office work whilst staying which required scanning documents, printing etc, Even though the hotel does not have a dedicated business centre the reception staff were brilliant, Irene and her colleagues could not do enough for us with a professional and efficient manner. On the other hand we returned to our room at 3.00pm to find it had not been serviced, at 3.30pm the housekeeping team arrived to clean, at which time we were not able to leave the room, we made a special trip out at 5pm so the room could be cleaned I rang to advice the room was now available. Reception rang me straight back to state the reason the room was being serviced so late was because we had the "do not disturb" sign on. This was not true we had left our room at approx. 9am and had returned at 3pm. Overall a fantastic stay and I would highly recommend this hotel.
