excellent location, nice rooms, good gym and swimming pool, very friendly staff at the reception desk. The problem with this hotel is the bar and restaurant - always has been and not getting any better. Terrible food, contrived and fake smiles from untrained staff at the bar. Use the bedrooms, and give the bar and restaurant a wide berth.

« Very poor welcome on two occasions. »

I recently stayed at this hotel two weeks in a row and on both occasions was booked in by the same receptionist. Put simply she was nothing short of rude on both occasions and also blatantly lied to me with regard to the availability of an upgraded room as a result of my platinum club accor membership. If that is how she treats a platinum member I wouldn't want to be an ordinary guest!! A great shame that someone who clearly shouldn't be client facing is getting a very good hotel a bad reputation and letting down her company and colleagues. I can only hope it is third time lucky when I stay in a couple of week's time!

The accommodation was of the standard expected of a Novotel. The restaurant was poor - suggest that you go for an evening meal next door to the 'sister' hotel the Ibis - the chef there is miles better. Had previously stayed at the hotel - did not dine in the restaurant on that occasion. Staff helpful but not hugely welcoming.

Bar and dining room decor harsh and backpacker hostel style but still full priced Breakfast offer limited, poor fruit selection, no black pudding, scrambled egg cold because staff failed to reclose cover despite passing several times and grilled tomatoes severely undercooked. Bar ran out of white wine forcing us to decamp to the Ibis next door. Why didn’t the bar staff or management show initiative and do likewise to get a bottle from the next door Accor Hotel?

I stayed here for the weekend with my 2 children which was their Christmas present. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, staff where very friendly. Greeted with happy staff and the children where each given a plush key ring. Made to feel very welcome, food was lovely. Swimming pool also vwry good.

The staff went out their way to make us feel welcome. We were offered an room upgrade on the day, this was really appreciated as a silver member I have stayed at Accor Hotels regularly. The room was amazing, we enjoyed a free drink on arrival and the pool/spa was great.

it’s hard to look for appropriate room to stay because of high price. But Novotel Blackfraiars is proper place. Nice staff, large room, amenites are fit for use make me so happy but there is no slippers in room. I think you will be best if you shouldve sold disposable slippers.
