« Food poisoning on 6 March »

Although in the past my experience at this hotel was satisfactory, during my last stay at the hotel I suffered of food poisoning. The syptoms (nausea, watery diarrhea, abdominal pain and and, among all, fever) appeared approx. 1-2 hours after having had the dinner in my room on Wednessday, 6 March. The dinner consisted of steak and salad with dressing; either one or both elements might have caused this, especially the salad as the dressing/sauce appearance was not that good. Next day, 7 March, I could not go to the office, so I stayed in bed as I felt very dizzyy and weak. I asked the Room Service to bring to me rice and natural yoghurt to my room and went in the afternoon at the supermarket to buy Paracetamol to stop the fever. On 8 March, before my departure to the airport, I asked the hotel restaurant to prepare 3 hard boiled eggs as breakfast as I was not capable of eat anything else.

We loved staying at Novotel London Blackfriar, its very clean and modern, staff are lovely and very helpful, breakfast is great, however our room was too small for a family of 4 (kids 10yrs and 8yrs). the kids loved the pool too.

Room has a good size. Bed is comfortable. Was staying on 4th floor at the back and first night was bit noisy from outside. Bathroom sink water didn't flush properly which was annoying. Breakfast is average. First day tables were cleaned with correct cutlery. Second day tables were not cleaned and I had to ask for spoon to eat yoghurt as I couldn't find anywhere. Restaurant quality is far off from quality of the rooms

I have stayed at this hotel many times and overall it is good. Good location and pool fun facilities are great to have in London and is th Reason I book this for me and my colleagues however, there are a few downsides. The room Service menu is abysmal. There is so little choice. I always eat room service but have never taken it at this hotel has the choice is so limited instead my money goes to just eat or deliver. The bed was also really uncomfortable. If you are using 2 single mattresses then you must use a thick topper to cover this. Had rubbish slèp and I'm tempted to book somewhere else for my next trip! Finally just for house keeping used glasses were not removed each day coffee wasn't relaxed and in my in room breakfast card wasn't replaced

As always, my stay inthe Novotel in Blackfriars was great. The staff are always friendly and greet you with a smile. The rooms arealways spotless and comfortable and I always feel safe and secure when staying there. The only downside is sometimes the doors of the middle lift can take ages to close!!! :-)
