Fine, hotel itself is stylish and comfortable. However, there was some confusion during check-in and my card was charged for entire stay ( not really the receptionist's fault but my company regularly uses this hotel so unsure why they needed to immediately charge my card ). In addition, money was taken from my account for food that I didn't order ( response/refund hasn't been provided as yet but I only responded this morning )

I would like to extend my personal apologies for the shortcomings you were faced with during your stay. Here at Novotel London Blackfriars, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. I fully understand the confusion and inconvenience caused by the breakdown in communication between us and the reservation agency regarding the billing instructions on your reservation. I can confirm that we initially only took an authorisation on your credit card. This has since been reversed and should appear back into your account in 5 - 7 working days from the day it was taken. Following your feedback we will certainly be liaising with our partners to avoid these mistakes happening again. I have attempted to reach out to personally on your email regarding the extra charges on your room and I look forward to having the opportunity to resolve this situation for you. Delivering outstanding service is an imperative part of our brand and I can assure you that what you have experienced is far below the usual standards that we strive to provide here at Novotel London Blackfriars. great - one minor issue was me leaving my passport in my room safe when I left. The hotel team did try and reach me to notify me but only over email and without a very urgent subject, so I missed it until the day before I was to leave and realized i had mislaid it. Would recommend in future if someone leaves something as important as a passport that the hotel attempts to contact them more urgently!

The stay was mostly great. From the time we entered the hotel, we were greeted with warm faces. We were allowed an early check-in which was extremely helpful. The only problem we ran into was that one of our rain jackets was stolen from our hotel room. We know for a fact that it was in the hotel room when we left for the day and when we returned, after our room had been cleaned, it was gone.

Arrived around 1pm and received an early checkin and complimentary upgrade to an executive suite. Really appreciated the extra seating in the room. Saves having to sit on the bed all of the time. Breakfast could have been better. On all 3 mornings the plates at the buffet were always wet and needed drying with serviettes. Enjoyed swimming in the pool every morning. Great location to Southwark station.

Room was fine, was in Rm 115 conference level. Woke up at 4 from noise - vacuum or something like that - doors banging etc. terrible. Told when I checked out but the person did not ask for problem and just generally not interested. Dissatisfied and disappointed.

The room was spacious and comfortable, with a wide view over the street and beyond. I did not particularly enjoy breakfast, because there were so many people having breakfast all at once, and having to go and collect the food oneself, especially if one was seated (as I was) quite a distance from where the food was available, was sometimes a less than agreeable experience. On occasion when I went to get a fresh cup of coffee I found that my table had been cleared by an over-zealous server, so I had to return to get the croissant which had been taken away from my table prematurely. I recognise that this is a problem that is probably insoluble, unless one gets up especially early to avoid the peak time for breakfast, but it made me inclined to think I would prefer a hotel where such a 'struggle' to get breakfast is easier to avoid. Or perhaps it is best to take one's breakfast somewhere outside the hotel.

I was very happy with the standard of the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, with all necessary amenities. I enjoyed using the gym, pool and sauna. Staff were friendly and helpful. I requested a quiet room away from street noise and I got that (a room on the 7th floor), which I was pleased about.

3 days at Novotel London Blackfriars

We stayed at Novotel on the final leg of our honeymoon. So unfortunately there was a lot of comparison with the hotels we stayed in Italy. Overall we knew what we would get at Novotel and we got that. It's good value for money, in London, it's perfectly located between 2 tube stations and walking distance to Covent garden. The room was a good size, clean and as I said Totally served its purpose. We appreciate the gesture from the hotel, leaving couple of heart shaped balloons in the room and couple of London Keys. Unfortunately we couldn't use your drink voucher as we both are teetotallers The issue we had with our room was that, there was an unpleasant odour as soon as we walked into the room. It wasn't extremely strong but noticeable when you walk in. We were so tired from our time in Italy that we did not bother making a complaint, and we spent all days outside and only got back late at night to sleep. The drain in the shower wouldn't drain properly and water filled up the shower Space, this we reported and a maintenance person was there immediately to fix the issue which he did, however water was still not draining well. As I said we were at a stage where we couldn't be bothered to chase such things, so did not make a second complaint and just managed to lift the drain lid open which drained all the water. Breakfast was decent. Nothing great.
