« Lovely hotel but a disappointing breakfast. »

We stayed in one of the apartments and it was absolutely brilliant. The beds were so comfortable the bathroom was well equipped with towels and toiletries. If we had done room only, this hotel would have got a 10. Unfortunately, breakfast was not all it could have been. The staff were not particularly friendly. We only realised that we could have cappuccino when we saw another family with them so we asked - in other hotels you are usually offered other drink choices but not here. The toaster was broken...again, no note was left on it. It was only because someone else tried to use it that I overheard a staff member say it wasn't working...but all the bread for toasting was still left out so there was no clue as to the toaster not working until you went to pop bread in. The breakfast choice was not brilliant...dried up scrambled eggs and broken looking fried eggs. My husband braved the bacon but left it because it was too fatty. So, there you go. The reception staff were marvellous - friendly and helpful - the room was tremendous - comfortable and large - but save yourself 13euros a head and go to a wee cafe outside for a nice breakfast...we certainly wish we had.

Friendly welcome. Just one bad thing I was at the end of a corridor and just a little bit wi fi signal. I recommend to put an extra hotspot in the corridor.

Great check in service, nice rooms, good food. Was getting a 9-10 rating on your NEt Promoter Score until the last day where your staff didn't show up for work at the breakfast restaurant and we have an early departure.

« Reasonable hotel within walking distance to the Milano Cadorna station »

Wasn't as nice as I had expected from the pictures or for the price we paid, however it was good for a couple of nights and was in a fairly good location to get into the centre of Milan and from the airport. Pleasant staff who are more than happy to help with a 24hr reception which was great as we didn't get there until 1am due to a delayed flight

« Nice experience »

As you walk into the lobby and reception area you get a friendly welcome. The lobby is filled with beautiful and funky artwork. the staff is friendly and very helpful! The room was nice, cosy and as described on the description from the online booking. It was clean, tidy with updated decor. Only two (minor) things to note; 1. The air conditioning did not maintain the temperature or fan speed requested on the control panel. However this was not detrimental to the overall experience as the room cooled down after a short time. 2. There's a Nespresso machine in the room but without any coffee capsules to use? This was rectified with a simple call to reception and coffee capsules were delivered to the room in less than 5 minutes! Overall experience was very positive, demands were met, room description was accurate and the staff was friendly!

« Don't leave water bottle around »

This is my wife comment - Water: I was in this hotel already some times, I took a bottle of water from the restaurant to my room, left on the table, half full, the day after I didn't find the bottle anymore. It happened already two times in different periods. - Coffee: Filters, pads or cups are refilled only in the afternoon, around 4pm, if you are having a rest, then you can forget to have the coffee refilled, why it's not done in the morning ? - Apple: I found a courtesy apple, thanks a lot, better to leave also a knife.

Apartment is very big, clean with kitchen. The beds are very comfortable. Very close to Metro and nearby down town. Surrounding with restaurant and supermarket.

The two room apartment that we booked exceeded all our expectations. It was brand new, huge, modern and extremely clean, providing all the facilities that would make you feel like home. All staff at Mercure Solari are extremely nice and helpfull.

Location was good. Not a fan of the hotel room design, but it was comfy enough. Breakfast was good but every day all items are exactly the same, so after two days I became bored of the food. I had lunch there and the chef was really nice. Very reasonable price too. Taxi experience was not great in Milan. From Linate Airport to the hotel around 11am on a weekday it costed me 30 euros because the driver took a long route. On departure I asked the hotel front desk to call me a taxi stating that I will pay by credit card. While payment by credit card is written on the booking slip, the taxi driver shouted at me and insisted on me paying cash, and said the hotel did not say anything about credit card. The hotel did not do anything wrong here, but I think it needs to better control which taxi company it works with when calling taxis for its guests.

« Good location and quietness »

This hotel is located quite close to Duomp on tram #14 but in quiet district. Breakfast is nice in terms of contents, volume and variety. There are a few restaurants in walking distance. We visited two of them which provided cuisine quite nicely and good atomosphere. We would stay here should have we a chnace to visit Milan.

« Difficulty with staff knowledge of wheelchair lift »

I use a wheelchair and requested a wheelchair accessible room ahead of time, both when I booked and by calling to ensure the room would be available to me. The staff when I arrived was very kind and helped as best they could, but the multiple people I talked with at the front desk had difficulty using the wheelchair lift at the front of the stairs. First, when I first arrived I sat out in the heat for approximately 20 minutes while they tried to find the key. Next, people who tried to operate the lift for me did not immediately know which buttons to push. It should be common knowledge where the key to the lift is and all staff should know how to operate the lift. Additionally, it would be helpful if there was a bell outside that a wheelchair user could ring when they need to get the attention of someone at the front desk in order to get assistance with the lift. Right now, all I could do was wave my arms around and hope that the person at the desk eventually saw me. Otherwise the room was very clean and quiet, and it was a nice stay in Milan.

« Noisy and unfriendly staff »

Rooms are okay but you can hear everything from the room so we could not sleep properly. Beds are very uncomfortable, we had severe back pain after 2 days. The staff is unfriendly. We came back to the hotel after midnight and the door was closed so we had to call a phone number, they kept us waiting on the street for a while until someone opened the door.
