« Relatively expensive for standard of room »

The hotel in itself was dated. Carpets in hallways and in my room were stained and tired. Shower head was leaking uncontrollably. No air conditioning, only a radiator which was either off or at scalding temperatures. Main room door didn't shut by itself, it needed to be given a good push or pull (dependent on whether I was coming or going) and the double lock mechanism didn't work at all. Breakfast was adequate, albeit below expected temperature for hot food. No business invoice / receipt provided on checkout even though it was requested. Secondary email has had to be sent to the hotel to request this.

« Okay but room not the best & bathroom in need to of improvement! »

Although on the surface our room seemed okay on further inspection we noticed the lamp shade had a list of dust and inside the Bathroom we could see from the door frame & bit of wall sticking out/shelf if you look up there is a build up of dust, plus the bath had a number of chips in the enamel. There is no where to hang any towels, no towel rail or towel ring to place bath towel whilst in use and likewise no-where to put a hand towel! Also usually I would expect a box of tissues in the room. The table by window was wobbly as well. Also no hooks to hang out coats which in winter months guests need somewhere to hang them rather then in the wardrobe. So all in all we cannot say it was great and feel a lot of improvement could be made.

Aware that the room was purchased with the help of loyalty points but didn't expect to be staying in one of the furthest rooms from reception with no heating. Reported the latter on arrival and despite a member of staff coming promptly the radiator was still cold. Eventually the receptionist brought a portable heater. Bar staff performance was not impressive. Accept that this is a (much) older property but will stick to an Ibis in future.

« Lovely hotel but cold and noisy »

Staff were fantastic. The bar man in the bar Friday evening was great! But the rooms were freezing that myself and my partner had to sleep in our jumpers over nightwear to keep warm! Also we were kept awake in the early hours of the morning due to slamming doors!

Our stat was good ( I worked in the Dolphin Hotel in 60 stys ) a fre matters thou in ROM 21 that we always stay in when possible, the bedroom radiator makes a bad knocking Sound & we found it not possible to sleep, toilet Roll holder needs attention plus toilet Seat, storage area very small, House Maid very good, BUT 1 thing I cant understsnd & that is “ Towers ect “ chances every Day when we dont need it, we always hang ours up intollerant we need clean.

2nd time we have stayed here while attending a football game at St Mary’s stadium. The hotel is clean & very warm. The facilities in the room are good. Parking is safe but costs £5 a night.
