« Excellent hotel, tiny room »

We stayed one night before joining a cruise ship. While I appreciate that you may have been constrained by a historic building, we find ordinary Ibis rooms to be larger ans more practical. It fulfilled the purpose, although I would have been disappointed more if I had not been entitled to a discount being an Accor card holder.

« Very Nice Stay »

Really good location and easily reachable. the Hotel parking location is perfect but needs more direction information or an email with the plan to reach it would be very useful before arrival. GPS coordinates are not that much accurate. Anyway, thanks you for this stay, many thanks to the staff, thanks for the upgrade and I recommend Privilege room . Special thanks to Nicole and Adam .

Although some of the reception areas were a bit tired the overall impression I had was of a nice non chain period hotel in a fantastic location. Stayed for business if two of us had stayed for leisure the room might have been a little cramped

The staff as always were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good, the only downfall was the small bedroom, we didn't have much room to keep the luggage we needed for our cruise holiday.

« Very enjoyable stay. »

Excellent, friendly staff. We were attending a wedding and the food was very good. Also the buffet breakfast the following day was very nice. The rooms were small but adequate. Unavoidably, even with the heating witched off, the window had to be open during the night, and it was extremely noisy. Therefore we had very little sleep.

Our stay was great. The staff even made the effort to put petals, card etc out for our engagement! Very unexpected and much appreciated. Lovely room, good facilities. Good breakfast (we ordered from the ‘to order’ Section). Fab location too!

In the room I was assigned the heating system was not working. On the second day, asked to change room and the room assigned had terrible lights from the outside disturbing the sleep. This, in addition to the very small dimensions of the room, doesn’t comply with should be a 4 stars hotel.

« Saturday in Southampton »

This was our first visit to the hotel and we were extremely pleased with the outcome. We checked in early, (12.30), but were given immediate access to the room by an efficient and friendly member of the Reception Team. The room was clean, well equipped, quiet and comfortable. We did not use any of the hotel facilities but, as we wandered in and out of the hotel, the Reception Team never failed to acknowledge us. The location of the hotel is excellent and we'd certainly use it again.

Dirty room, no view window room, Very dirty carpet and sofa, Bad bed mattress, no towel hook, dirty towels changed after the 4th day!!! after complaint to reception, expensive laundry.

We were warned it would be noisy during the evening. As two vents were taking place we were on ground floor. People from events were outside our windows well after midnight. Singing shouting. Drinking. We could hear glasses and tins rolling around

« Very tired room with limited facilities, I am surprised this is 4 star »

Staff were reasonably friendly, food was reasonable, but the room was not up to expectations. My room was at the front and with sash windows was very noisy. Earplugs were provided but wearing earplugs would render the evacuation strategy invalid. No bath in room, nowhere to put shower gel or shampoo in shower. Sink tap wobbles and turns so if you want hot water it turns past the sink and pours water on the floor. One bedside light not working. Reasonable hanging space but no shelves or drawers for clothes. No plug sockets near bed. Internet is so insecure most sites would not let me connect due to the risk (not experienced this at other hotel chains). Carpet creased and painting on walls and ceilings very poor and shabby. Disappointing.

« Poor! Overpriced, Tacky, Small! »

The room was minuscule, I thought I was in a tent for the night. Bed was uncomfortable. Receptionist was rude. Ridiculous overpriced, I would say £45 is a fair price. Dirty walls and fixings. Poorly maintained. Will not stay in a mercure again!
