Good position and good food however the hotel is in need of a complete overhaul. Bedrooms small, bathrooms need updating. This is not a "Style" class hotel despite having colourful furniture in the rooms. Bathrooms grubby, tiling in need of replacement, toilet from the 1950s!

We stayed here for an overnight stop whilst travelling from Roscoff to Charente. The hotel was everything we have come to expect from an Ibis Styles, comfortable bed, fast wifi and excellent breakfast. We had the additional pleasure of having a balcony room overlooking the beautiful Chinon chateau.

Mostly good BUT (1) The settee is to big for 1 person and much too small for 2 . For long stays it is desirable to be able to sit inn the room in comfort. (2) Air-conditioning/heating should have room controls...central control is the sort of set-up you get in Russia !!!! (3) Dinner is too late for we oldies....the only time we tried to dine in we finally gave up at 1930 hrs when nothing seemed to be happening (4) Don't afvertise the gym facilities if 50% of them don't work .

Hello, Thank you for your comment. Concerning your remarks, I woult like to inform you that we have biger rooms with a bigger settee. The one you've had can be transformed as a bed for 1 child. Concerning air conditioning, I confirm you can control it directly from your room. There is a remote you can use as you want. Dinner is served from 7:15pm until 9:30pm. « A weekend in Chinon to end our holiday. »

The hotel was very well placed and the few from our room was amazing! All staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very well equipped and comfortable, although we thought the bathroom area was ready for updating. We had breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant and enjoyed our meals. However we did notice that the pitcher of wine we ordered on our second evening was better than the bottle we drank the first night!

When we arrived there was no one on reception, we saw the member of staff disappearing into the lift with a tray which was clearly room service. We waited over five minutes for her to return, when she did, she virtually threw the key at us, we were given no information about meals or breakfast. When my husband went down to ask about the WiFi code there was no member of staff available and in the end he gave up. In the morning there was no member of staff in the breakfast room, there were two members of staff on reception drinking coffee. We found out by watching other guests how the machines worked. The breakfast items were not replenished. The fire escape door on our floor was open all night and the fire escape opened on to the garden and the garden was not secure so anyone could have got into the hotel and been lurking in the corridors.

Having stayed in the Hotel Chinon on 11 previous occasions ,it was interesting to come back to the Ibis Hotel after many years. My wife was pleasantly surprise to be remembered by the Receptionist. Nothing has changed dramatically from our last visit ,it is still the same comfortable residence. The bedrooms have new furniture which brightens up the rooms. Having come from the Mercure Hotel in Saumur where BBC world service is available I missed the British news ,CNN was not as informative. We dined in the Restaurant on two evenings where the meals prepared for us were the best we ate during our stay in the Loire Valley, Compliments to the Chef ! I was surprised that there were so few Reception Staff available, my impression was that the staffing level was minimal.

Hotel is run down, hard to find and the staff, though kind, were not particularly knowledgeable about local area. Room was clean and okay for a one night stay and we did appreciate that breakfast was included.

Our hotel is located in the campaign, in an area that is classified at the UNESCO patrimony. Because of that, we do not have the right to install many road signs. « Good stay, but a plumbing problem »

1. It took us several attempts to find the hotel due to the one-way streets! 2. The WC in the room overflowed continuously - we solved the problem by turning off the water supply 3. The woman at the desk on the evening we arrived seemed to have no English and we thought it was unlikely that the hotel would solve this maintenance problem overnight, so we put up with it. 4. The reception next morning was very helpful. The coffee machine was not dispensing any milk, so they fixed it (other guests just put up with it), and they said they would fix the WC. 5. The "family" rooms had two double beds - quite impractical. 6. The online booking system doesn't work for family groups. You don't know whether the rooms will be together or how to find single beds. In the end you always have to ring the premium charge phone line (which in France is handled by French speakers). 8. This hotel is in a good quiet location and we would certainly recommend it for tourists. 9. We think the Ibis Styles brand is very good for touring, but this is not the best Styles hotel we have stayed in.

3 day break in Chinon made perfect by the lovely hotel. We had a lovely view from our balcony. The breakfast was very fresh and tasty and the one dinner we ate in the hotel was excellent value for money.
