We had two trips to Antwerp recently and as we didn't need to be in the City, we chose the Ibis at Antwerpen Port. The hotel sits between two major roads which are quite busy in the daytime but quiet at night, so we had three nights of uninterrupted sleep in clean and comfortable rooms. Facilities are basic with a bed and hand-basin in the one room and a shower and toilet in separate rooms leading off; there is no privacy between the bed and the hand-basin. The staff were helpful and made sure everything was OK. Breakfast choice was basic but good (bread, cereals, cooked meats, cheese, fruit juice, tea and coffee) but forks were never available unless requested. There is no restaurant within this Ibis but there is a Novotel next door with easy access from the car park.

« Decent enough and clean »

Everything was fine. The room was clean and functional. Easy check-in and check-out. No hassle. The total price I would say was still rather high (+-60€). The room, though perfectly clean is very basic (not having a real bathroom, but rather a toilet and a shower integrated seperately in the room). Breakfast was fine too. But once again, not cheap for pretty basic stuff (+-8€). Overall I am satisfied but I wouldn't book at Ibis Budget for anyone but myself.

The most basic of the basic. Only a blanket provided for the single bed, so had to keep the heating cranked up, so our child wasn't cold. Light sensor in toilet turned off too quickly, had to keep waving hands about just to keep the lights on long enough to go to the toilet properly! Triple room with certainly no ability to fit 3 people in, without one having to sit on the bed. Disappointed, been in hotel rooms with more space to allow all 3 to sit at a table. Also no kettle, I expected that as a minimum in a modern room. Room had marks on the wallpaper making it look dirty.
