Hotel was situated in great central location. Friendly staff very helpful from beginning until our departure. Room was great clean tidy spacious. It was a special occasion for us and we where upgraded to privelage room. Couldnt ask for better stay

« Well located hotel with easy access to bars and the metro. »

The room was wonderfully cosy with a Juliette balcony overlooking the main road which did mean it was a little noisy, but having the door open kept it cooler than the air conditioner which didn’t appear to be very effective. We had breakfast on one morning and while it was good, I’m not sure it was worth €17 when you consider you can get breakfast in the bars around the hotel for less than €10. Staff were very friendly and happy to help.

« Good location »

A few steps from the metro. Small room with welcome tea making facilities. Friendly staff. Breakfast was very good but totally chaotic: coffee machine stopped working so no hot water, ran out of eggs and croissants. Very hard working waitress could not attend to everything and it was quicker for me to go upstairs and make my tea in my room. After that we had breakfast calmly at a cafe - a pity as your breakfast was very good.

« Air conditioning not working in the room, got charged twice for my stay and the breakfast was overly expensive »

As mentioned above the air conditioning was not working in the room. When I mentioned this to reception they confirmed they already knew and that the entire airconditioning for the hotel was broken and had not worked for some time. This was never mentioned when booking the room. Why? I also got charged twice for the room and this has still not been rectified. The breakfast was ridiculously expesive as well

« Lovely hotel, friendly staff and a good location for exploring some of Paris »

From moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff who were always happy to help. We had a privilege room on one of the top floors - the room was beautiful and quiet. The location of the hotel is great for exploring and there are lots of good bars and restaurants in the surrounding area. I would definitely stay here again.

« Exceptionally courteous staff, clean rooms. »

The hotel staff was outstanding. Everyone greeted us kindly and cheerfully, had very good recommendations for things to do and places to eat, and went above and beyond in helping us with a problem with an event booking that we had not made through the hotel. We wished we had noticed that we could get tickets and museum passes for almost everything we had planned to see right from the front desk. The room was smaller with fewer conveniences than we expected from a Mercure, but we enjoyed it. I booked the hotel via Orbitz, only because the rates were considerably less expensive than through Accorhotels.com, even though I am a member of Le Club AccorHotels.

I thought the room was a good size but a bit basic. Breakfast fruits were not fresh ..but the rest was fine. Great service and superb front desk support. Place voltaire is very good for local cafés and restaurants. Nr Bastille

« Nice accommodation w/ good breakfast »

It was a good stay appropriate for my business trip with lovely breakfast (though it got really busy at certain hours with no space and not enough food, especially on Saturday morning). I didn't get an upgrade as Gold Member which was slightly disappointing but I appreciated the quiet room.

« Great Christmas break »

From the moment of the Check in until we left, we couldn't be more happy about our decision of staying at this Hotel. The location is excellent, the rooms beautiful and overall the service provided was just outstanding. Very well done girls (the girl with the curly hair who worked during Christmas period and the other girl who cheeked us in - Could be Diana? « Appalling value for money at breakfast »

Having just one staff member to manage the breakfast room and room service is insufficient. Every table was occupied or covered with dirty dishes. No more cups, no more water in the coffee machine, no more jam, no more baguettes, no more eggs, no more ketchup. The poor woman was left dashing desperately back and forth, putting out fires. She was clearly poorly trained - "Never waste a journey: Every time you go into the kitchen, take something with you (like dirty plates) and bring something back (like fresh bread)" - is the first lesson any wait staff should be taught. You charge too much money for offering such a poor service. The room and bathroom were clean, comfortable, and perfectly acceptable, however.
