Although I found the room and facilities good, I was left with the impression in a couple of instances that customers were to be tolerated or educated more than serviced.

I found Ibis in Tamworth ok , could improve in have bathroom cleaned better, I did found on young girl very polite and welcoming, however she was under staff and trying to service around 10 tables by herself , food average. Tv channel for Foxtel had kept blocking me to watch tv as it was on Prenatal supervision and I couldn't change it on the TV remote. However its is ok I will be staying again in the near future.

On arrival the staff went through the emails to find that they had received my booking but not processed it into a room. After an 90 minutes of scrambling to fix up am old room they put me in a really old room that looked nothing like the room I had booked on the site.

« Short stay at Ibis Tamworth »

We found the staff at check in were very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in one of the upgraded rooms. The bed was very comfortable. Overall the stay was made special by the helpful and friendly service by the staff at Ibis Tamworth. Unfortunately when we were getting ready for bed, and turned the bed down we noted the bottom sheet had mould on it. We contacted reception and Natalie came to our room and replaced the sheet. She was very apologetic and took photos as this should never have happened. She provided us with breakfast vouchers. We were offered another room however we had already settled in. I would also suggest that someone speak with housekeeping as though, mostly the room was clean, little areas such as behind the door in the bathroom had not been vacuumed and it looked like the floor had not been mopped/cleaned properly. Other than that, we would happily return, mainly because the girls in reception were so lovely.

« Lovely stay for a small price »

We picked this hotel due to its 24hr reception and its location and timing as we were travelling after work. The staff were lovely. The room was nice. A little worn on the edges from an older building, but a new bathroom and comfy beds was well welcomed. Even the single for the child was nice which is often forgotten. Will stay here again.

Overall, pretty good. It was nice looking out over the park and being so close to local restaurants. Parking outside the room made it easy to move things inside. The room was very well presented, enough space and quiet enough. A couple of niggles, like the bed had to be remade because the sheet had its length across the width of the bed, so it was short. Also, we had trouble accessing the wi fi except as unsecured. After we asked at reception about how to access wi fi using the secure password provided, we remained unable to do so. We didn't use it in the end. One of the young women at reception wasn't exactly falling over herself to make us feel like we weren't a bit of a nuisance. We decided not to eat at the restaurant due to the lack of vegetarian choices. We have found this to be the case at a few Ibis hotels. BTW, the "If you were not a Le Club AccorHotels member, would you have booked this hotel? *" question needs an "I don't know" option. This is because when there is a loyalty option available it is all I am looking at. I can only make comparisons with hotels in other locations. For the record, some have been better in various ways, but none have been as good as far as $ value rose to date. Finally, At this Ibis hotel the voucher for the free drink was for myself only. Previously, it has been for the two of us - so it didn't meet my expectations after having a voucher for both of us before. However, I acknowledge I only expected one drink after signing up. This hotel surfing is quite an interesting experience.

I enjoyed my stay. The only criticism would be that there was no toaster or microwave in the room. I stayed for 3 weeks and it would’ve been nice to have the option to make my own breakfast etc.

This was my first stay at Ibis styles Tamworth, i normally stay elsewhere, but decided to try a new venue. My initial contact with hotel staff was satisfactory, and I explained I needed a ground floor room due to recent knee surgery. All good at that point, but went down hill from there. The accom booked was initially priced at $105 (with Accor mbr discount) but I decided to take the Accom including BREAKFAST, at $135. Thinking this would be good as I had a reasonable drive that day, and would have been sustained by a wholesome breakfast. How wrong I was. I was advised my $30 additional cost to the room was only for a continental breakfast. I showed my confirmation email, where at no point was Breakfast described as continental, and again was told the price I paid for my room $135, was inclusive of complimentary continental breakfast.... No ! Wrong, I stated, I’d upgraded to include “breakfast”. However a shrug, and NO alternative was offered. Even then, it proved to be very much below par as all that was available was some white bread, 2 slices of raisin bread, 3 small bowls of cut up pineapple, unripened green melon, and half a bowl of loose red grapes, with a depleted bowl of plain yogurt. Along side was a small selection of bulk cereal and both orange and apple juice. When I asked if there was any of the muffins or raisin bread coming out, I was told No. once the allowed quantity had gone, that was all for the day. Now in my opinion considering I don’t eat toast, I believe $30 was disgraceful even for a continental breakfast. It was only 8am. So not the end of the breakfast time. If this is the policy of the hotel, I’m sfraid I will not be staying again. (Although the room was fine). We finished up going into the shopping centre, and getting Bacon & Eggs, with coffee, for $10 to satisfy this unsatisfactory breakfast by an Accor hotel. If you think I’m a whinging customer, I have given praise to every other Accor hotel breakfast at other places. Basically I was also dissatisfied by the response of the staff, who gave me the impression they really didn’t give a damn. Looks like I will try another hotel in Tamworth. Just not good customer service.

I believe the difference in the price was not only the breakfast but the flexibility in the terms and conditions. Ibis Styles has always been an all inclusive brand, meaning that our flexible rate included a continental breakfast, which is different to other brands in the Accor chain. This has been very confusing for guests, as the only place you can see the continental breakfast notification was in the "details" section of the booking process. Thankfully they have now changed the Ibis Styles structure (as of bookings made after 8th March), and we have both room only and full breakfast rates. The service you received both at Reception and the Restaurant was not to our usual standard but unfortunately they were just following procedure / what we had in stock. We will certainly review our procedures and thankfully Accor has already helped us with changing the structure of our rates. We have started upgrades to the property, but it's your decision whether you choose to stay in the cheaper option, hence the quality is not as good. Our Superior rooms have been fully renovated, with updated lighting, amenities, ensuite, furniture, even down to the placement of power points and new USB points. We highly recommend these rooms as they are fresh and modern, and spacious with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Our apologies about the air conditioner, hopefully you spoke with our friendly 24 hour Reception team to help with this. We also recommend making a booking in advance as our thorough Housekeeping team cools the room before your arrival. We hope to welcome you back into our Superior rooms in the near future.
