« Rooms good but check in could have been better »

Our Over 60s group stayed there for one night. Everything was fine but reception go the check ins mixed up. They first but another player into my room. i was given another room but walked into the room to find another of our players was already there. Just careless.

Not up to the standards one would expect from an Accor Hotel. As a Gold Plus member, I should, based upon availability reecieve a free up-grade. Requested at booking. The hotel was at well less than 50% capacity, but no up-grade was offered. The room I was given did not even have a bed side table lamp/light. Only light in the room was the large overhead with the switch being at the door. I booked 2 rooms, but was only given 1 complimentary arrival drink voucher. Altough Accor had a promo offering $1 breakfast, I was told this hotel did not praticipate. Paid $23/room (only 1 adult in each room) for breakfast. The sausage was a very poor grade. Requested an omelette but was told it couldn't be prepared because they didn't have a pan. An omelette can be made in a standard fry pan, so, I fail to comprehend. I selected poached eggs, which I strongly suspect were microwaved. The coffee was low grade. I would have been far more satisfied at a lower cost had I gone to McDonalds for breakfast. The staff were pleasant. When I went to front office to complain about my room, the front staff did offer to up-grade me at that point. Gievn that it was 9:30 in the evening and I just wanted to go to bed, I declined at that point pack up my stuff and change rooms.

While it may have seemed the hotel was at low occupancy, the number of upgrade rooms are limited and we do of course offer priority for these rooms to our Loyalty Members when we can. I have made a note in your profile for any future stay if you do choose to stay with us again, I will personally ensure your next stay is a far better experience and will ensure you are guaranteed the best room in the hotel. I have also shared your feedback about the quality of the breakfast with our Head Chef who will be addressing this with the team. I am really not sure why the team said they were unable to offer omelettes but this will certainly be addressed. The price for the room we were put in was a bit rich. Modern facilities were lacking everywhere except the bathroom. Our room was right next to the main highway and we were woken about every half hour over the weekend. Considering we had a baby with us this was less than pleasing. The “family room” didn’t have nearly enough space, especially considering we stayed for a whole week. Adequate number of beds. The house keeping called every day which was appreciated. The price for the overall room and experience was far too much. I wouldn’t recommended this hotel to friends purely because what you pay is not up to industry standard, when we know we can stay somewhere else and get more space and modern facilities for less. The website room photos did not reflect what we received, in fact, they were very hard to find. We only stayed at this location because that’s where our conference was being held.

Water pressure and hot water flow was terrible. Aspect of room cleanliness (bathroom window ledge and around skirting boards) could be improved. The bedding was excellent.

We enjoyed our stay at the Ibis Styles in Tamworth. The room was clean. The staff in Reception and in the restaurant for dinner & breakfast were very friendly. We would like to see mugs in the rooms as tea cups just arent big enough for a coffee first thing in the morning & also larger towels would be nice.
