The location is next to the station and near the tram line so that’s good, however it is a seedy area and the hotel needs a revamp. Very dated. The breakfast as always with Accor Group was very good

Good overall. Breakfast good. Room a little small. We did have an issue re sink not emptying which we reported - but it remained blocked. We had to empty the water into the toilet! Doubtless you will resolve this eventually. Coffee available during the day and evening was welcome. We had to book an extra night because FlyBE cancelled our flight home for Saturday! Whilst we paid E71.25 for Friday night, as club members we do not understand why this went up to E105.30 for Saturday night - PERHAPS YOU COULD CHECK if this is correct please (wee didn't have the French to debate with the hotel) - and respond to us on St… Thank you in advance

Just OK. Having stayed in other Styles branded IBIS hotels we were disappointed in this one - not up to the usual standard at all. Only redeeming feature was the breakfast - the usual excellent Styles version.

The hotel was obviously an old one bought by Ibis and then made an attempt to update it. It seems as though no attempt to soundproof the rooms as people in adjoining rooms could be heard clearly. The rooms were tired and bathrooms very old. The doors had door closers on but none were adjusted to close correctly as all doors banged closed with a thump,something that happened all night and early morning. Corridors were noisy and every person walking down could clearly be heard. I have recently stayed at Ibis Styles in Chalon en Champagne and this was an excellent hotel which was one reason I booked this one. I have to say the whole experience has put me off staying in one ever again unless I have visited prior to booking.

« Poor quality facilities and room. Very basic and shabby. »

Checking in was quick and efficient and the person at the desk was very helpful. Reception area needs updating. Corridor to the room was dark and carpet dirty, there was also a dirty hand towel in the corrisor near our room. Room was very small with basic furniture and view outside was of a flat roof. Bathroom was very basic and tired. Whole place needs refurbishment and updating and remove the awful coloured plastic furniture! This was outdated years ago. If you want to call it a stylish hotel then get help to make it stylish and comfortable! Breakfast was ok and checkout was quick. Car Park was very useful and this was the only positive point. Would never stay here again and would not have stayed if it was not for the fact we had been traveling in our car for over 700 miles and were extremely tired.

Just what we needed - clean, bright, modern, quiet rooms in a great location with a good breakfast. Easy walk into city centre. Secure parking to leave our car for 3 nights while we went off cycling, and very close to St Jean station and supermarket.

« Internet really bad, bathrooms in bad condition, hallways with unidentifiable smell »

There was mainly no internet connection that could be used. In fact, called at 21:00 to complain about it, and the reception told me that the internet responsible person leaves at 17:00 or so. Completely not useful for a business trip. The rooms seem clean, but the bathroom was in such bad condition, that is hard to get inside without feeling disgusting. To starts, you guys seem to have a problem with the "smell trap" of the sewers, so gases go up the shower sink, and it smells really bad. Also, there seems to be a collection of old-mold accumulated in corners. The personal is doing their job, but the infrastructure is just unattended. The worst part of the stay is the smell that is on the hallways. The combination is of lack of venting, no air passing though, and a continuous accumulation of humidity. The lack of lighting does not help, and I would not have been surprised if I saw a rat going by. I am completely puzzled that your hotel can pass a health inspection, there is nothing about that smell that says "healthy". I repeat, the people are nice, they do their job and are super helpful. The ones that own the hotel seem to be cheap careless bastards.

First of all, note that the hotel is a bnb (well I didn't know this). In the beginning when I checked in, I was a little disappointed as the staff could not understand English, they could not help me start off with my navigation to the University campus and the surrounding area was deserted. There was no kettle in the room. To be honest, I wanted to change as I didn't feel safe here. In US, this kind of an area would have certainly meant unsafe. (BTW, I am from India). In the evening, I met Laure and she spoke English well. She gave me the map of the city and explained various ways I could use to reach the campus. There-on the life was smooth. Other staff of the hotel like Will was also helpful. There was a kettle in the hotel lobby with several flavaours of Green tea and coffee. Its very well connected by tram and buses with all the tourists places in the city. Breakfast is just about ok with the same menu everyday. Nothing hot in the menu except for tea, coffee and milk...No boiled egg, no sauteed veggies/sausages etc. I would suggest the hotel management to add some of them in the menu. Rooms are very small but neat and hygienic. In the end, I am happy as cleanliness, connectivity and safety are of highest priority for me. If you are looking for a good bnb and you can manage with this kind of menu in breakfast, go ahead.
