« Internet really bad, bathrooms in bad condition, hallways with unidentifiable smell »

There was mainly no internet connection that could be used. In fact, called at 21:00 to complain about it, and the reception told me that the internet responsible person leaves at 17:00 or so. Completely not useful for a business trip. The rooms seem clean, but the bathroom was in such bad condition, that is hard to get inside without feeling disgusting. To starts, you guys seem to have a problem with the "smell trap" of the sewers, so gases go up the shower sink, and it smells really bad. Also, there seems to be a collection of old-mold accumulated in corners. The personal is doing their job, but the infrastructure is just unattended. The worst part of the stay is the smell that is on the hallways. The combination is of lack of venting, no air passing though, and a continuous accumulation of humidity. The lack of lighting does not help, and I would not have been surprised if I saw a rat going by. I am completely puzzled that your hotel can pass a health inspection, there is nothing about that smell that says "healthy". I repeat, the people are nice, they do their job and are super helpful. The ones that own the hotel seem to be cheap careless bastards.

« I am happy with the hotel except for its location »

First of all, note that the hotel is a bnb (well I didn't know this). In the beginning when I checked in, I was a little disappointed as the staff could not understand English, they could not help me start off with my navigation to the University campus and the surrounding area was deserted. There was no kettle in the room. To be honest, I wanted to change as I didn't feel safe here. In US, this kind of an area would have certainly meant unsafe. (BTW, I am from India). In the evening, I met Laure and she spoke English well. She gave me the map of the city and explained various ways I could use to reach the campus. There-on the life was smooth. Other staff of the hotel like Will was also helpful. There was a kettle in the hotel lobby with several flavaours of Green tea and coffee. Its very well connected by tram and buses with all the tourists places in the city. Breakfast is just about ok with the same menu everyday. Nothing hot in the menu except for tea, coffee and milk...No boiled egg, no sauteed veggies/sausages etc. I would suggest the hotel management to add some of them in the menu. Rooms are very small but neat and hygienic. In the end, I am happy as cleanliness, connectivity and safety are of highest priority for me. If you are looking for a good bnb and you can manage with this kind of menu in breakfast, go ahead.

The room was quite small. The desk/stand eas too small too small and uncomfortable. It is not enjoyable if you want to spend time in the room.

Hotel seemed to lack anyone in charge. Rooms clean and well serviced but had asked for two quiet rooms close together and they were both overlooking the busy road and very noisy and not particularly close whilst rooms around us appeared unoccupied. Breakfast staff seemed unable to replenish fruit bowls and think it acceptable to suggest using a mug instead. Hotel was close to station and trams and restaurants and was a better area than anticipated.

« Convenient location and all the basics! »

Close to station, decent room, a bit hot at night and ac didn’t cool well. Great breakfast especially the big coffee machine which makes a decent cappuccino- increasingly hard to get in France when the cafes all have cheap little machines. Only disappointment and half my own fault -I left my power adapter in the room and when I returned to try to get it nowhere to be found! Very frustrating as none of the local Tabacs have NZ adapters

I had a pleasant stay at the Ibis Styles. Chosen because of the proximity to the transport links my focus wasn't on anything else. Staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel clean and the breakfast good. I should not have opened the window though, mosquitos.

It was clean, the staff was hospitable and friendly; we appreciate that the accomodation has offered us some coffee, tea and water. The breakfast was good and enough and it had natural juice. The location was excellent and very safe. Thank you.

« Disappointing and not usual Ibis standard. »

General condition of hotel was scruffy and not clean in public areas. In need of refurbishment. As Ibis cardholders We have stayed in a lot of Ibis Styles in France, uk and Netherlands so we’re surprised at the difference in standard at this Bordeaux hotel. . In fact the Ibis budget in the same area is much better....this should not be the case. No air conditioning yet room was too small not to open window. No pillow cases on second pillows yet desk clerk said he had no access to pillowcases?? Keycards did not work second day but no apology for this. We would now think twice about choosing Ibis Styles unless we already knew the hotel. Seems there has been standard slippage here.

A rather tired looking hotel in a run-down part of Bordeaux. Small, plainly equipped rooms made uncomfortable by a lack of properly functioning air-conditioning during an unseasonably warm time of year.
