Good location, nice rooms the only drawback is the Carter & Fitch eating option presents a very limited menu for my liking. The staff are friendly and the rooms well laid out and clean. I have not used the leisure facilities due to time constraints.

Staff unable to deal with numbers at hotel. Despite booking months ago and requesting a quiet room it was on a busy corridor so was noisy. Room itself was worn out with mismatched decor and old fixtures and fittings with the bathroom needing a complete refurbishment. It was dingy and dark and dated but fortunately we spent very little time in there due to the Great North Run. No toiletries provided in bathroom. Woken by cleaning staff very early on day of departure.

We found the staff friendly and helpful and we were offered a room upgrade on checking in. However we declined the original offer of a new Privilege Room as it had no wardrobe space, just a hanging rail, as our stay was for several days and it would have meant keeping all our clothes in a suitcase. The alternative room was spacious and comfortable but lacked aircon. Breakfast was good although on one day when the hotel was full the tables were not cleared and the room was a mess. We raised this with the management and it was explained that they had an unexpectedly high level of late notified sickness. To be fair the problem was acknowledged and we were offered a complimentary two course meal by way of an apology. We did eat in Carter and Fitch and although it was much better than when we visited this hotel a couple of years ago, it doesn't compare to restaurants in Accor hotels on mainland Europe. As we are on golfers we cannot comment on the golf facilities. Te spa, pool and gym are OK. Overall our stay was satisfactory without being outstanding.

The room was good,with excellent facilities.We ate in the restaurant and must compliment Oliver there.Our initial table was spoiled by the proximity to a group of noisy golfers in the bar.He moved us to a further away table which was reserved but had enough time for us to complete our meal as his service was excellent.The food was first class.We used the leisure pool which was fine apart from the layout which made one go through the reception area to get to and return from the pool.There was no soap in the shower dispensers in the gents changing room and this must be one of the very few clubs with no plastic bags to take wet costumes back to room.Breakfast was a disaster area as one member of staff appeared to be the only person trying to clean and reset tables.We ended up clearing our own table and finding our own cutlery.Again however the choice and quality of the food on offer was excellent.Possibly my wife and I are a little old and slow but we found the internal signage in the hotel confusing when trying to find restaurant or pool from our room. Again however the staff members we sought directions from were pleasant and helpful.Only the changing room location is something you cannot change but improving the other faults would make a 10 achievable,especially as your staff are excellent

Very nice hotel, however there was used bar of soap in the bathroom and beer can under the chair outside the room. But the restaurant food was amazing the smokehouse.

Room was extremely hot, caused by the type of fridge which has a huge heat sink on the back of it heating the room up, and being the top level of the building. There was also a very noisy ventilation unit mounted on the roof which caused a lack of sleep due to the noise along with the high room temperature, despite asking reception for a fan, which added to the noise. Air con was sadly missing and would have helped.

This was not a good stay for us. Our room - 308 - smelt of damp or the lingering odour of cigarette smoking from the past. Throughout the night we had the on-going sound of a generator or electric motor starting up and switching off at irregular intervals. Sleeping was difficult as a consequence. The hotel services file states that Wi-fi is available throughout the building. IT IS NOT AVAILABLE IN ROOM 308. We telephoned reception to ask why and were advised that it would be re-booted but it still didn’t work. We are on the outskirts of a major UK city in 2019 and Wi-fi is not available; that’s just ridiculous. We use Accor hotels throughout the world and we’re gold members...we won’t be using this hotel again. Please investigate and see for yourself. Thanks for the opportunity to provide feedback. Rob and Angela M.. We could write more as we also felt that our breakfast experience fell below the usual standard for Accor hotels.

Room good standard, bathroom, bath had broken over flow point. Water did not drain away from shower for some time. Standard lamp in bed room did not work. Food expensive for what you got, 3 chicken wings as starter for 6 pounds.! Staff good and friendly

I asked for two rooms near reception or a lift as my elderly mother doesn't walk that well. But was given two rooms I were given were so far from reception that it would have been impossible for my mum to walk there. I complained to reception and they upgraded us to the only other rooms available. So was happy with that.

When we checked into our room, the curtains had been left open which meant the room was far too hot. The window had also not been left open which made the situation worse and unbearable to stay in. However, the worst element of the room was the repulsive smell that was left; this combined with the heat, meant that we could nopt stay in the room allocated. However, when we informed the receptionist she was very accomodating and moved us rooms.

Room was clean and comfortable. Very poor light. Dark and gloomy. Window only opened a tiny bit so very hot and airless on a very hot weekend. Public area especially outside the bar was filthy. Really unpleasant. In a corner of a corridor there were dirty room service trays stacked up for over 24 hrs. Pool was good but children in it before 10.00 - not what I wanted!
