« clean and helpful but cannot have the basic done »

staff is helpful and sincere. But the shower water drain was almost blocked for 3 days. got fixed after reporting for 2 days. the reason given was the maintenance guy was off on sat and sun (I move in on Sat). But if a house keeper just put in some acid, the water drain will be done, why do we need a "engineer" to do it? the safe was locked before us. therefore we have no safe to use. the breakfast is too simple. But if we compared the price of it. It is cheaper than the Novotel right next to it. if the difference is not too much. I will try the novotel next time.

we loved the hotel and the location was perfect, 2min walk to borough market and 5 min walk to the tube. The room was nice, clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was included and was lovely, would definitely stay again

My husband and I enjoyed our stay , the room was clean , basic and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was simple and had a variety of options - I personally would have liked more fruit on display. The one thing I noticed after housekeeping had cleaned our room was that our towels were changed each time even though we didn't want that , the room notice advised what to do so we hung our towels up yet housekeeping still changed them - you may want to look into this so your ethos actually matches what your staff are doing. I liked the idea of having two soap dispensers in the bathroom - basin and shower and it was and all in one , this keeps packaging down as well as saves time for housekeeping when cleaning each room. Personally I bring my own items for shampoo , conditioner and body wash. The Reception / Lobby areas were good , I liked the fact that the bar was open to the early hours of the morning and how all staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast area was large , bright and colorful , just like the Reception and Lobby which I personally liked and loved how they made use of items , using suitcases as bookshelves , a post box to drop off rooms cards when checking out and using pallets as coffee tables.

Very well decorated and stylish hotel with friendly staff. Nice and clean rooms with all the necessary basic commodities. Wide range of food at breakfast, though I was really looking forward to having an English breakfast during my stay in London. Unfortunately that was not an option... Well located near Shakespeare’s Globe, London Bridge and St. Paul’s cathedral. No tube station close by though. Wasn’t a problem for us, but some people might have to take this into consideration. Would definitely recommend the hotel!

« Very happy with this Hotel »

All in all we really enjoyed this hotel. Our check in was quick (even though internet was down)and our room was spacious enough, and the bathroom was very functional. The hotel location was great, and we could walk to Borough market, and tube stations easily. Our only negative was that the breakfast room was being renovated (why in high season?) and a poor breakfast selection was delivered to our room each morning with very little choice.

« A visit to Southwark »

This was a different type of hotel that I am used to for my age group (70+) but all that said it was very enjoyable from the reception staff and the iPhone management team. Room was different and very colorful. Breakfast area and food selection was ample and certainly a new place to learn new languages . Close to Southwark which is what we wanted for a 3 day London visit.

« Rolling out the red carpet for guests »

The red carpet entrance to the hotel 'We like to make our guests feel special' said Florina who checked us in. gave little clue to the interior of the hotel. Completely redesigned as an homage to the long disappeared Rose theatre, the interior was startlingly designed with well considered lighting to suggest you were in a theatre or on a film set. Although deliciously quirky, the hotel functioned properly and exceeded our expectations. The previously mentioned Florina with her striking presence and charming personality blended in this unique hotel.

« Kind weird but nice »

We picked this hotel by mistake ( Fat Fingers on the internet) but was pleasantry surprised it is a funny experience for my age group ( 70+) but never the less quire enjoyable. The room was colourful and different but well proportioned .The staff seem to control your visit by iPhone? Atmosphere was excellent and the breakfast was my first engagement in other languages than English that made the stay interesting along with a good breakfast selection. Very close to all that is Southwark

We booked the hotel on the basis of having stayed there a few years before, when it was a comfortable and simply stylish hotel with a good location. Rather concerned to walk into the cluttered, overdone and pretentious reception area, trying a bit too hard to be different. So much stuff all over the place, and very poor lighting throughout made it hard to get around! Our room was partly painted black, again with poor lighting so very hard to find anything. Bathroom a bit tired, mould round the shower - good to have bottles of shampoo and soap on the walls rather than individual soaps etc which are too much plastic. The breakfast was fine, availability of drinks etc good. The staff were great, friendly and helpful. We prefer a simpler and better lit environment so would not book again, but understand if others like it’s ‘wackiness ‘.
