Eclectic hotel - i was traveling on business and did not expect the unique decor. i like the "front desk" which is a an app on a cell phone. Very efficient. as noted above, hotel rooms need some refreshes. Also, breakfast was just ok - i was looking for a full English breakfast.

« No one in charge?  »

The room was clean and decor quirky, but breakfast was a nightmare, both days I ended up clearing a table of five or six dirty plates and cups, families were complaining and I think you needed more tables rather than perch people at a very bare looking ' bar area' . Staff in the foyer were pleasant but breakfast chaos ruined the experience .

We had booked two rooms, a suite and a double. On arrival at around 4pm we were asked to take a seat in reception where we were left for 20 mins until I had to find another member of staff to find out if there was a problem. We were told that the rooms were not cleaned so I advised them that it might be polite to advise guests checking in if this instead of just being left! After another 15 mins the original person came back and said that one room was ready but one was not, the one that was ready was not ours but the people that were travelling with us! My husband at this point started to lose his temper and asked to speak to the manager to which we were told there wasn't one as he was on holiday! We then phoned 'customer' services but we were just told to put the complaint in an email! My husband demanded a reduction on the room and the receptionist attempted to offer this but we were not confident that this was the correct person to be dealing with so we decided to wait until the following morning and speak to the duty manager. The next morning when we relayed the whole event to the duty manager we were offered a discount which was less than the receptionist had offered! When we explained this they explained that they had no authority to do this but at the this point we were not interested and had lost complete faith in the hotel altogether! I will never stay at an Ibis hotel again, my whole stay was ruined. This is something I have never experienced in any other hotel before! Ibis should be ashamed to have hotels in central London running in this manner, simple customer service from the moment we walked in would have stopped the whole thing in its tracks instead of leaving people to sit wondering what on earth is going on!

Very good, stayed only one night because it was so close to the office, bedroom was bigger and more stylish than anticipated (despite the name!) and the welcome/bar/popcorn area was awesome.

« Excellent hotel in ideal location for us »

Had a lovely stay in this very quirky hotel. Very pleased with our room - practical and comfortable. Also thought that the included breakfast made for very good value for money. All the staff we cam into contact with were very polite and friendly, with no request being too much trouble. Would definitely return to this hotel and will always prefer hotels from this group in the future if available

Friendly welcome and super quick check-in as I'd already done the online check-in so just needed to collect be key. Room was ready at 12:30pm which was fab. The lobby is quirky and stylish and even had free popcorn 🍿👍🏼 Room on the 1st floor was clean and even had a great view of The Shard Air conditioning takes a while to kick in and I imagine on a v hot day would not be strong enough. Had a great night sleep though and didn't hear any noise which was fantastic. Not even the cleaners that you can sometimes here rustling about in the mornings. So 10/10 for quiet room. Shower had good pressure and temperature. Only had 1 towel per person so would be nice to have an extra towel for ladies to dry their hair Breakfast was disappointing. Served from 07:30 - 11:30 on a Sunday I believe. We arrived just before 10:30 and most bits were empty. Staff didn't seem to have much urgency at refilling or clearing tables. Cold continental buffet of boiled eggs, ham, salami and a couple of cheeses. Cucumber and tomato. Cereal : cocoa pops, special k and muesli. Also had banana chips, dates and sultanas. Yogurt in glass cups with some kind of fruit sauce? And a jug of milk which of course was quickly emptied. Muesli was empty. The fruit stand was empty. Seemed to be some good pastries. I didn't see and gluten free options. Forget the coffee machine, the cappuccino was mostly milky water. The percolated coffee was quite good but again emptied quickly as more people came. No clean cutlery, had to ask for this. Couple of juice options. All in all I would stay here again as only a stone throw from Borough Market and would go there for breakfast instead.

« Poor controls and lack of knowledge of customers »

I have already sent a complaint through the website but no reply after a week of waiting. 1. Members of staff did not know I was a silver member and therefore there was an awkward exchange asking for a complimentary drink. 2. I was chased down the road to settle an invoice yet my card details had been taken from me several times already. Ibis need to sort out their controls around processes. Not happy. Location : excellent (close to city, local life and public transport). Very friendly and helpful staff. Room : a bit small. Breakfast : not well organised when crowded. Could be more local dishes.

The hotel and staff were welcoming and helpful. It was clean, quiet and the room was spacious. Location was great, breakfast was generous, just not quite as delicious at the Ibis at Blackfriars, no butter and none of the fabulous cooked chorizo/smashed avocado. Efficient service. Would definitely recommend. Pretty good value considering proximity to Borough market, Southbank, St Pauls etc.

« The stay was adequate and sufficient given how much time we spent outside the hotel. »

The room, while small, was a fine size for me and my guest. While the breakfast had a number of options, they all seemed rather sweet (with the exception of the cheese and tomatoes/cucumbers), and the music in the dining area always seemed loud. I last stayed at this hotel in February 2016, and the breakfast experience was more positive then. The staff was very nice. The renovations in the lobby and the room seemed nice, although the theme was somewhat confusing (but this is not a criticism). The proximity to Borough Market is always a plus. The lighting in the bathroom was also very poor. It would be nice to have better shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the bathroom, instead of an all-in-one product.

We recently stayed at Ibis Styles Southwark for 2 nights when in London ad found it a very nice place to be. Room was good with all the facilities you could need. Staff were very friendly and te location of the hotel was very good. 2 minutes from Borough Market and train station that connected to most of London quickly. Breakfast was decent and all fresh and replenished frequently by the staff. Even on a very busy Saturday morning the breakfast buffet was plentiful, even if some guests got in the way chatting and hanging around.

fabulous room. very good service and excellent breakfast. Modern décor was lovely and quirky. My visiting family from overseas were fascinated. So much to do around the hotel within a short walking distance
