« The Ibis style »

I reserved to interconected double rooms for my family (2 adults & 2 kids). Everything was great, the IBIS well known style. The hotel is easy to find when you come from Madrid, we used Cercanias trains and the hotel is 3 minutes from La Garena station. We enjoyed everything, from clean rooms to breakfast and also the friendly attitude of the staff. Only one minus: in the first day it was very cold in the room, until the heating system made his job (maybe it would be an ideea that the room would be heated until the guests arrive).

Staff was very good and warned me about Taxi drivers strike. Anyway (even though nothing to do with IBIS hotel itself) this just end up my overall bad experience I had. 1. Doors in the bathroom constantly opening inside unless fully closed. Probably bad installation (bad leveling). 2. No toilet brush. 3. Breakfast where staff just did not pay attention that some of the food is depleted to supply more.

The 1st complaint is the cost of wine, last visit it was 7euros a bottle, this time it was 16 euros !! The bathroom was grotty, very badly cleaned in Shower and all corners of bathroom. The worst experience was lack of sleep due to SNORING from next door.

I found staff helpful even thought I didn't speak the local language. They had a good knowledge of local transport such as bus stops and trains. The rooms were clean and tidy, the food was good and the beds very comfortable.

« Comfortable and keenly priced »

I was only there for one night but a family member stayed for a week. We found the staff helpful and the facilities very good. My Spanish is not good and they were able to converse in either English or Spanish. We had a very comfortable stay and it doesn't cost the earth.

« nice place to stay. »

All other hotels near the Madrid airport were sold out so I selected this location for my 1 night stay. First good thing is the local bus runs directly from the airport to only 1 block away from the hotel for less then 4 euros! Much cheaper than a Taxi! As always nice clean room, air conditioner worked great, good breakfast buffet (at an additional cost) and the staff were excellent! I'll be back!

« Room was good, service not so much »

We were happy with the room itself- it was clean, spacious, and exactly what we expected. Service, however, was inadequate. The hotel was at 100 % occupancy during our stay, and woefully understaffed. There was one person working during check-in, and he was terribly rude and unaccommodating. The next morning there was one lady working the breakfast-room, kitchen, and reception at the same time, which meant that we were stranded without half the items on the buffet. The coffee- machine is a joke- There sometimes was a queue of over 20 people trying to get coffee. And each one takes up to a minute to prepare a single cup. How about using commercial equipment, especially when there is a conference in town? I have stayed at Ibis many times, but yours just wasn't good enough.

I booked under a "Special" Travel Industry rate that turned out to be the same as that being offered to the public on arrival; because I am diabetic and planned to leave very early I bought some yoghurts to eat before I left. I asked Reception to keep them in the hotel's fridge, which was denied. I had to go into some argument before the receptionist accepted reluctantly and in a not very elegant way. I spend half my life in hotels; I have never been denied use of the hotel's fridges; then, in the morning, soon after 5,30 am, I drove to the gate and was forced to reverse to another gate because the night receptionist refused to open it, which would have made no difference. The room was a s expected; the service was NOT; and the RATE totally misleading.

We liked our room and found it comfortable and clean. It would have been nice to have tea/coffee facilities in the room rather than having to go down to the reception area. Otherwise, it suited our needs.

Stay at IBIS alcala usually 3/4nights annually. Always a safe place for car parking and a good bed for the night. The hotel staff are very efficient and helpful. The hotel is modern,clean & comfortuble
