It was not quite pleasant when upon arrival you are required to pay a deposit in cash worth the whole price of the room. What are payment card for? The card number is in the system and it would be more easy and more convenient to make a pre-authorization...

This was my second time to stay at the hotel. I got a room facing the courtyard, and was quiet (except for people making noises in the hallway) until the airconditioning unit above the room started making uncomfortalbe noise the day before my departure. Since it was getting unbearable and did not seem to stop in the evening time, I asked the hotel staff if I could get another room. The staff kindly assisted me and gave me a room on the second floor, which was facing the condo next door. This room was quiet, and also the shower was good. The shower in the first room was very very weak with fluctuating temperature, taking me a long time to take a shower. I regretted for not asking for a different room after experiencing the shower of the second room. Another point which could be improved is that the shelves were surprisingly dirty compared to other places in the room. I had to wipe them with a wet towel a couple of times to get it clean enough to put my clothes. Otherwise, the staff are always friendly and kind, the breakfast is good, and provision of water bottle, which could be refilled at the bar, is nice. Also, the shuttle to/from Novena MRT station is convenient. I would recommend this hotel to people who prefer staying at a decent place at reasonable price. (Though, room rates seem to fluctuate quite frequently, thus, could be quite expensive at times.)

Had landed Singapore with great expectations from Country and from stay. No doubt Country had much more to offer than my expectations but all went wrong with stay. IBIS being a renowned name in hospitality business, booked my stay with ibis Novena with great expectations but all got shattered on the moment I entered the premises. As the old saying goes "First impression is very important", the moment I entered was met with unwelcoming receptionist. After getting my room keys lodged into my room to find some solace from long and tiring journey was looking for drinking water in room(being unaware on availability of drinking water in restrooms) couldn't able to find one, called the receptionist and asked for water bottles and to my surprise got response from her "We have no one to spare at this juncture of time for this survive, you have to come collect the bottles yourself". Obviously no problem in doing so but the same message could have been communicated politely. Second incident was with the free and the complementary service from hotel "Handy". Neither able to turn-on and nor able to charge the same have complained on many occasions but all went un-noticed. All day roaming and admiring Singapore streets one expect to get decent sleep in hotel rooms. But there also ibis managed to ruin the experience with centralised ac at worst making room temperature and suffocation at highest. Given all the experience will obviously visit the Singapore again but will definitely choose different hotel partner for stay. Regards, Abhijeet M.

Overall is Ok, front desk staffs are helpful but not the cafe. Cafe is rather congested in the morning. The sound proof in the room is zero. Guests passing by make noise & I was being woke up for several times.

Clean, tidy and functional rooms. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. I was promptly provided with an iron at my request and staff were great at giving advice about visiting tourist spots in the city. The free shuttle bus service was very handy. Decent breakfast.

As far as location, it was good. very near, walkable to Novena Metro station. Feeder bus service to metro station is good one. But when it comes to rooms, they are very small. No closed almirah there is the room. Restaurant closes very early in the night. In the morning, early comers get breakfast, after 8.45, things start finishing up.

Was upgraded to premium room with some benefits such as a coffee making machine. Was offered welcome fruits but frankly unable to actually eat some of these due to the selection of fruits (dragonfruit in its whole form?) Breakfast was not offered, but I read from the welcome letter that a special corner is made for platinum members- did not receive the full explanation of this upon check-in. Welcome drink included a daily cocktail which was a pleasant surprise. Shower room in the room I stayed in could do with some fixing to prevent water from splashing out all the time. Bath towels were quite thin and did not feel "hotel grade". Fridge had some water inside probably when the machine was turned off. However it is a reasonable hotel at a reasonable price, and I understand that the staff must be under pressure to deal with large groups of tourists. Management could consider reinforcing the check-in operations to allow lesser wait time for guests.
