Room was clean and the Hotel restaurant Victor was good although not cheap. I liked in particular the many free movies available in the room. Breakfast was not that good after all, limited choice of sweets. Location if 15 minutes driving (by cab) from the centre of Brussel, of 30 minutes walking. All in all a nice stay but not great considered the price, if you look for best value for money then you should look somewhere else.

« Great location »

For those who are traveling by train to Europe, this hotel is the right one, located at the corner of the Zuid-midi station. I was visiting Brussels coming from London, I was amazed how close this hotel to the station and also 4 stations away from downtown Brussels. With a welcomed staff at the front desk we were received, they gave us a map of Brussels and showed us the way to downtown. The room so nice and clean and big enough for 2.

I was very disappointed from the start with this stay. I had checked in on line but was still asked to present my passport until they looked close enough to see that I had checked in. They did not explain how to use the lift to get to my room and I had to ask someone at the bar for help. Once arriving in the room, I noticed only one bottle of free water not two as advertised. There was only one container of cream for the coffee. The volume on the television was so low that you had to literally put your ear to the television to hear it. There also was no stir sticks to stir the coffee. Not impressed.

Check in personnel consistently does not speak Dutch. I am not at all a nationalist and in fact work across the globe in five languages, but in my own city I would appreciate a minimum effort of human resources to assign staff that speaks the country’s language.

We zijn blij dat u over het algemeen van uw verblijf heeft genoten, echter spijt het mij te lezen dat u zo teleurgesteld bent in ons personeel en het gebrek aan de Nederlandse taal. Het team is meertalig en spreekt naast het Engels en het Frans vaak nog een derde taal. Voor een enkeling is dat Nederlands, en voor een enkeling is dat Duits, Spaans of een eventuele andere taal. Ik begijp uw frustratie en ik kan u meegeven dat wij dit onderwerp zeer serieus nemen. Verschillende personeels leden volgen op dit moment Nederlandse les. Wij zullen er alles aan doen om ons niveau te verbeterenen u bij een volgend verblijf in het Nederlands te woord te staan. Poor staff attitude in terms of problem solving and managing early (turned a guest away) and late check outs (I was poorly advise and had to re show my receipt, i was treated like i was lying) that have been paid for. My room door was left open by the cleaner.
