« PULLMAN never disappoints »

Excellent from check in to check out. The PULLMAN Midi is an oasis in the buzzing Gare du midi. Rooms are spacious, clean and bright. The reception staff is always helpful and the Internet check in and out is smooth. The breakfast - especially when booked in advance - is good value for money with fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit and a range from salmon to bacon. Perhaps it is time to replace or complement the soy milk with lactose free cow milk, that is becoming widely available.

We cake from Amsterdam by train, going out in Brussels and afterwards again on the train. The hotel was at the perfect location, fast and friendly service. Definitely recommended. And easy connected with the heart of Brussels by public transport.

The hotel were very good and the hotel and room was nicely decorated. The food was very good. We decided to not have the room cleaned and receive 10 euros. The card said a credit for the restaurant and bar would be left in our room. We didn't receive. Upon checkout we were told we had to pick it up at the desk. This was not clear and the sign was on the door over 24 hours.. This service should be reviewed. The carpet in our room was stained which was surprising and the pull shades were ripped.

Your voucher should have been placed in the room, however if you would have had a do not disturb sign on your door the voucher would have been given to the reception. It seems that something in this process went wrong and I deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused. We loved the location- couldn't be more convenient as we came in on the eurostar train and easily found the hotel within the train station. In our room- the housekeeping did not provide a base layer (fitted sheet on the bed), just a top sheet and comforter. When we alerted the front desk, they were unable to address this for us because there was only one person working the night time desk and we were told we had to wait for security to return so he could leave the front desk. After a long day of travelling we could not wait an undetermined time, so we went to bed. This shouldn't have occurred. Also, we hung up the eco friendly notice on our door before 9am and never received the 10 euro voucher for the restaurant/ bar. There needs to be instructions for the a.c. in the room (it took us 10 minutes to figure out how to operate it).

Reception staff could not have been more helpful, even sending an e-mail for us from their own account when our I-pad was playing up. Our only criticism was that there is no a la carte menu at breakfast and you have to pay 26 euros for the whole buffet, or go without - at the current exchange rates, that means that breakfast will cost you about £25!

There are nice things, as expected. If you stay regularly at these hotels though, there are also a few surprises. For example, there are no expresso cups, and the mugs provided don‘t fit the nespresso machine, which is bolted to a raised plate, creating an uneven surface at the edge of the counter, so you will have to hold your cup yourself while it is brewing. The sauna doesn‘t have a resting area, or anywhere at all to sit, except for two uncomfortable chairs in the fitness area, where others are working out fully clothed. There are large towels, but no robes, so that‘s a bit awkward! There is only a normal shower for cooling off, the water is not cold and there isn‘t a hose or a bucket or the usual things you would find, I wonder if the sauna is supposed to be used at all. There is no information in the room about the services in the hotel. In general it was nice, but not the quality I generally expect from this chain.

My stay on the whole was good, one morning there was a poor choice of pastries, as they only supplied a few Croisants and they weren’t presented well. On the whole breakfast was better. My room was great, my chambermaid was miserable which is a shame. The receptionists as always shone out, in particular, Ashley, Raja, Makoto, Charlotte and Robert. They make me feel at home which is very much appreciated. As always the hotel team is led admirably by Gregory Marchand.

When I booked some days before, I asked for a room overlooking the railway tracks. I arrived late, as I had indicated I would, but it was clear that my request had been ignored. I was put in room 422, presumably the closest to my request at this stage, with a good view of the station roof - not the tracks! If a customer makes a request like this it is important to take it into account not just ignore it.

I am sorry to read that the room assigned to you was not to your satisfaction, and I apologize for any discomfort brought to you. However, I do not feel your request was purposely ignored but I think this rather concerns a lack of knowledge of the rooms. We do have quite a few newcomers in the reception team, who might not have been aware. The majority of the rooms on that side of the hotel do overlook the tracks, with a few exceptions on the 4th floor. Your review has been shared with the respective department head and the necessary actions have been put in place to avoid any future occurrence. We also left a note in your profile that for any future stays you are to be assigned to a high floor on the stations side. We had a conference in hotel and it was very nice. Rooms are clean and beds are clean and really nice to sleep.I wish I wouold have enough time to use sauna because I have been told that it is really great.
