Belys the negative reputation re customer service one hears about France in general. The hotel is well situated if one travels by train, 30 seconds walk from tram stop (5euro for day ticket available at reception) that takes you to the centre of Bordeaux. Copious breakfast and clean quite rooms when facing garden. Just be aware no bath.

The style of the room is very old fashion. The bathtub needs to be refresh (not very large, degrading parts, water doesn't stay if you want to take a bath). Electrical outlet are very far or hard to find and use. For the Breakfast it was hard to find flatware, I had to ask to take on the table of someone. Better have a place to take all. I liked the soap available, the bottle of water and the way to make tea or coffee, if I remember (even if I don't drink them).

We have had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. Personnel was very nice and rooms comfortable and clean. Although I was surprised not to have a fridge in the room (a 4star hotel?) and to be awaken by the receptionist reminding us we were not allowed to smoke in the room (we were just sleeping). An overall good experience, I would go back, but something to improve for a 4 star hotel. The final unpleasant experience has been the breakfast payment. When we checked in the receptionist made us understand that breakfast was included in the offer, she invited to go down and have breakfast and we have been naives and didn't double-check that it was not. We payed a money that we could not afford. We strongly advise to be clearer with your customers about what the price includes or not, when checking in. The receptionist indications have been unclear and misleading for us.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was within walking distance to the centre and the tram stop was right outside it (however we only used this once as it was so easy to walk!). Really comfortable beds, excellent staff.

Good location for those arriving by rail, and for anyone who has been there before - but really difficult to find and access for the first time because of one-way streets and the tram system. Room was too hot, and air-con did not appear to work. However, a good location, convenient for the excellent tram system (stop right outside), and staff very helpful and friendly.

I appreciate a great deal this hotel. The staff is more than welcoming when they see you. They treat you and make you feel that you are special. The rooms are spacious, clean and luminous. Even if it is close to the railway station, the area is quiet and nearby from the Garonne. I have to point out that the food was delicious.

« No AC even at 27 c degrees! »

The hotel is fine, but the day was about 27 degrees celsium, and they didn´t allow to turn on the Air Conditioning! We had to sleep with the window opened and with outside noise! I really don´t understand that policy!

Granted an upgrade upon arrival which was a pleasant surprise , and the reception lady was very helpful in assisting us with a map and details about the city, tram system and tickets.
