« A gateway to another world »

It was great to spend some of the days of our honeymoon at La Gare. We are visiting the hotel for the 3rd time in the past 3 years and we are happy that you have always something new to propose. The Glass Aquarium on the second floor is a Masterpiece, like all the glass objects placed in the hotel. Thank you for upgrading our room, for the Champagne bottle and the amazing service. We will come back for more.

« A gateway to another world! »

If you are wondering when is the perfect time to visit Venice and Murano, well, the answer is very simple-now! We particularly love visiting Venice and Murano in February-March during the Carnival. This is the 3rd time when we have visited this destination and we stayed again in LaGare (as always). I would recommend the hotel to everyone because of its perfect location on the quiet island, the spa zone, the shuttle boat making connections to Venice and the airport; the stop of the public transport that is is in front of the hotel, the amazing breaksfast,the welcome drinks, the positive attitude in general. The building was a glass factory in the past and has more exquisite objects than any of the shops on the Murano island and depending on the time of the year, even from those in the Murano Glass museum (which is just behind the hotel). This time we were celebrating our honeymoon and the Hotel LaGare team was so kind to upgrade our room and to send us a bottle of champagne to our room upon arrival. I cannot express my gratitude for all that you do. You are a great team. We will come back again. Thank you for the memories.

« So much better than we expected for the price »

Expecting a boat trip from Marco Polo Airport to Murano, we were whisked away in a beautiful, highly polished, high speed launch. Reception was faultless, cheerful, helpful and polite in any number of languages. The rooms were superb, just think bigger and better. Comfortable large beds, immense luxury bathroom, TV, minibar and fridge, even a simple to use safe in your room. Ideal for extra cash, documents and gadgets. Corridors and public areas were immaculate, smelled wonderful and all were decorated with all aspects of beautiful glass craft work. We were just staying B&B, but what breakfasts! Attentive, really professional service with an amazing buffet selection of tasty foodstuffs.

« Classy Stay as Previously Experienced! »

This was our third stay at La Gare and it did not disappoint. The room was an executive on 2 floors with a bed on the upper floor and sitting area and bathroom on lower floor. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and amenities all provided. Breakfast was very good (again) - fresh cappuccino at breakfast (if you ask!), good assortment of hot and cold dishes. The staff were friendly and helpful. The gym was somewhat tiny but the sauna and steam were a welcome refreshment after a day wandering around venice. This is a great spot, right by a water bus (vaporetto stop) so easy to nip to and fro to Venice (a ACTV pass for however many days you are staying is a must if you dont want to rely solely on the hotel shuttle). All in all a lovely stay and we will return (especially in January - great month to visit Venice as it is quiet and cold!).

« good hotel with good transportation »

The hotel is located in Murano island which is very quiet. there is boat stop to train station and to the main island. there are boats every 10 minutes to and from Venice main island. the rooms are clean and spacious.Staff are very polite and friendly. The only thing is that the breakfast could have some more varieties or different dishes daily.

« Incredible, amazing staff, great location. »

I was more than satisfied with my stay. I had some serious problems concerning my luggage following my flight and despite that being at 1am the man (Luigi) at the front desk was beyond helpful. The following day my luggage problem got sorted thanks to Michele & another man whose name I did not catch as they called the airline and another passenger and communicated in Italian as I was unable to. The room was beautiful, and breakfast was lovely. Location was perfect despite being on another island and the free number 3 water taxi service was much appreciate. Could not recommend more!

We enjoyed our stay at the LaGare hotel. Our room was excellent, and on the whole the staff and experience were very good. There were, however, four drawbacks which I hope can be solved for future guests. 1. The "smoking point" outside the hotel entrance lay right below our window. The smell of smoke, and the amount of talking out there often made it impossible to sleep. These outside "gatherings of smokers" often went on well past midnight. On one evening, during an event, I counted upwards of 40 smokers out there! The noise was louder than our TV! 2. The choice of pillow types should be greater in a hotel of this class. 3. Our only negative experiences at the hotel happened in the breakfast room/r. On both occasions, a certain female member of staff who seemed to be acting as the duty manager was to blame. All other staff members were excellent, but she actually managed to spoil our day. Both at breakfast and in the evening, she gave Italians preferential treatment, once even cutting off her own sentence to us in order to seat another Italian guest before us. During our evening meal, we were handed the desert menu, then completely ignored for so long while she welcomed another Italian guest that by the time she came back to us (after circa 15 minutes) we had lost our appetite. She did not offer the full range of coffees available at breakfast, did not really help us with our choice of local wine, and even embarrassed us in front of other guests when we decided to change the way we paid our bill. In short, she was the reason we did not revisit the hotel r. She seemed constantly stressed, and not really up to the task of managing foreign guests. But perhaps we just caught her on a bad day? 4. The restaurant needs a vegetarian main course on its menu. It makes no sense to have a vegetarian starter and first plate listed, but no vegetarian second plate. What is a vegetarian supposed to eat?

Stylish and well equipped room, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, very convenient boat service, excellent location. Minor problem - more vegetarian dishes on the dinner menu would be good. Chef did make us an excellent meal, but it would be good to have something from the regular menu without having to ask.

« Creature comfort in a good location »

Thank you to all staff of the LaGare Venezia for a memorable experience. Besides the hiccup of pick-up location that involved us dragging 3 heavy luggage over the Constitution Bridge from Santa Lucia (the hotel really must find a different spot to pick guests who are arriving by train, and ensure that maps are clearly marked), the stay was a pleasant one. Having a bottle of bubbles in the room to welcome us (it was our Anniversary) was a very nice touch. Our room was comfortable as expected of an MGallery property, and bonus was the extra pillows of different texture that was already available in the room (other Accor properties in Central Europe, only had 1 type of pillow available). Breakfast had sufficient items, though it was the same variety for the 3 days we stayed. Would have liked if lactose-free milk was offered as well. Happy to note that there was the ability to change most movies on the TV to English, as other hotels in Europe we stayed at before coming to Venice, only had TV in the native language. We did find the room a little stuffy, and opened the window to let air in, but somehow, could always smell cigarette smoke coming through. Would have been nice to be able to have just fan blowing through the a/c so that we could keep the windows closed. LaGare is conveniently located just at the Museo waterbus jetty on Murano island, so it makes for easy commuting to Veneto, and as it is away from the main island, is very peaceful and quiet in the evenings and nights. Hotel shuttle service is also a bonus, as this is much quicker to the main island than taking the long route with the waterbus. Overall staff were polite and helpful, and special mention to the staff and duty manager on the night of 04-Jan-2018, who acted promptly when I called back the hotel after realizing that our room key had been stolen from my person whilst commuting in a very packed waterbus from San Marco to Cannaregio. The staff immediately cancelled the room key and went up to check the room to ensure the room and our belongings were intact. They also gave us a new key when we returned to the hotel after dinner. Thank you, and looking forward to stay here again when we return to Venice in the future.

We had a nice time. Rooms great and staff friendly and accommodating. Really great having the airport taxi transfer. Only feedback was we had a really dirty bathroom, uncomfortable beds and average breakfast with things running out.
