Not the best. Arrived at hotel and checked in ok. Got to my room to find that it hadn't been cleaned and was littered with the previous guest's rubbish. Was switched to another room which was better if a little rough around the edges.

« Hotel was tired and dated the worst MERCURE I’ve ever stayed at »

Hotel tired and dated, tv didn’t work, bathroom was so small when you sat on the toilet you could burn your face on the heater which was boiling! Couldn’t get into the shower! Worst MERCURE I have ever stayed in, travel lodge more luxurious than this MERCURE

The room was very expensive considering the defects present (blackout blinds would not open, poor condition secondary glazing and a trouser press hanging off the wall). Although I appreciate that the building is very old, it's in quite shabby condition and the earplugs provided (!) certainly speak to a lack of sound surpression between rooms and overly creaky floorboards. If the rooms were £100 less per night that would feel more appropriate pricing.
