« Monica and friends »

It was a group of women coming to enjoy a break which we did. The food was delicious but we could have done with more custard. We asked for more but it was still delivered in an extremely small dish. We also saw a mouse near the bar as the doors were fully open both front and back. We loved our time in the leisure centre and the rooms were clean

« Hotel was lovely during the day such a shame we had to stay there to sleep thats when it went wrong!! »

Awaiting a call or email back from the manager about our 2 nights stay it wasnt pleasant at all going to a hotel and not having the sleep you should be getting! After speaking to various staff they knew how we felt about the situation!! We stayed in room 42 we was really happy when we saw it about 6pm we heard a droning noise it wasnt going away we went into our friends room 41 they heard it aswell but it wasnt as loud as our room we phoned reception they told us it was the kitchen fans and would go off at 10.30pm. We wasnt worried as we were in your restaurant for a meal that evening(the meal was excellent the waitress was very attentive) then drinks in the bar we went back to room at 11.45pm and couldnt believe the noise had started while we were getting ready for bed!! The noise kept kicking we knew we couldnt sleep through it so went to reception after 10 mins a man came along after hearing the noise he agreed he could hear it but said it couldnt be coming from the kitchen fans as that was the other end of the hotel!! I asked if we could move rooms but he said there wasnt any available he would get us ear plugs!! What else could we do we had to take them but wasnt happy this was the result! We didnt have a goodnights sleep at all!! ive never worn ear plugs so its not a natural thing!! After a lovely breakfast the following morning we asked reception about moving they had a note left from previous night the lady advised me the only rooms she had at that time were near the wedding that day/eve on the ground floor so it would be better to go back later in afternoon we agreed this was best! We visited the leisure facilities which were very good!! We saw a different lady at reception she explained our new room was 26 on the ground floor!! Straight away I asked was this near the wedding area as alarm bells rang in my head!! She said it was but the room would be the quietest one they had as the others would be noisey!! We didnt have much of a choice when you are told this. That evening we got back about 11.50pm the music went on til about 12.05am we had no problems with that people had had a good time thats what a wedding is all about!! Got off to sleep then about 1.30am was woken by people singing and talking really loud got back off again to be woken at 2.45am more noisey people then about 6.30am sounded like a drinks trolley was going past aarrgghhh by this time we are like dead things to say we arent happy is an understatement!! Went to breakfast our friends looked fresh and bright we definitely didnt!! At check out I explained to the man that I wanted to make a complaint he said he would give us free afternoon tea when we was passing by this is a poor substitute for having no sleep we live 90 mins away!!! I said I still wanted to make a complaint he advised me the manager would be in at 12 noon so would get back to us either through an email or phone I realise the hotel is busy still waiting. We visit alot of hotels this is the 1st time weve been given ear plugs and still expected to pay for our visit to your hotel when the sleep is a big part of the experience we are sure you would agree this hasnt been a great experience for us!! We spoke to numerous staff over our stay we are shocked that no one has complained about the noise before in room 42 its something that needs to be addressed. After looking on trip advisor after our stay some of the comments seemed a bit harsh towards the hotel you are never going to please everyone but im sure you would agree if you go to a hotel you expect to get a goodnights sleep!!

The way the staff dealt with an incident that happened whilst we were on our stay was atrocious. Never heard of anything like it.

« A night away for my birthday »

My husband and I have been to the Letchworth hotel before and thoroughly enjoyed it. When an offer came up and coincided with my Birthday we decided to book again. We was not disappointed. The staff are very friendly and look after you very well. The rooms are spotlessly clean and have every thing you need. Our offer included a 3 course dinner in the Lyttons restaurant. Again all very good. Just had one slip up the soup was only lukewarm but was soon sorted out. The breakfast was good ordered poached eggs they came out perfect. The breakfast staff were excellent. Have another booking at the end of the month can't wait

« okay »

Generally alright but with a couple of concerns. I think it very mean spirited to try and charge anybody £10 extra for entering the room early. If the room is ready then what difference does it make if you move in before the allotted time. All a bit tacky and should be scrapped. I was there as part of a wedding party and would like to mention the very high quality of the wedding meal I received. It was all well prepared , tasty, HOT! and on HOT! plates. This cannot be said however for the breakfast which, although the plates could be HOT! the food was just warm. Small consolation I guess when many other similar establishments serve tepid food via a buffet.

« Noisy »

Everything was perfectly great apart from sleeping across the courtyard from a wedding. It's obv a call you guys have to make but for us it resulted in rather restless sleep, not just from the music playing but also from party people in the corridor. When you stay 1 night it obv shapes the experience.

The receptionist although very plesant spoke hastily. Finding the room was not straight forward. Very spacious and clean. Pool area did not look inviting, possibly some greenery would have improved the look. Tasty meal, the 2 waitresses were extremely pleasant and courteous. The elderly gentlemen at breakfast definitely one of a kind! Brought a smile on everyone's face. All in all good experience. Thank you.

« Overall a satisfactory experience »

Great Gym and Swimming Pool. Rooms are a good size, beds are comfortable and shower has good water pressure. Breakfast is very average and is the only disappointing aspect to our experience.

« Overall very good, nice looking hotel. »

Good reception, was immediately upgraded to a larger room, without asking. Nice surroundings with stunning grounds. Restaurant was possibly the only negative, felt rather rushed, and had to choose from a not so good menu as we had bought a deal on Groupon, this was pointed out in a rather negative way by the waitress.

« Disappointing »

I have stayed with you on several occasions and generally have enjoyed it. We were lucky enough to get a reduced rate on a superior room with dinner and breakfast. The room was not too nice the rooms we had before were much better, if this was superior I would have hated staying in a standard room Our sink had a large crack in it there was an electricity plug that was almost out of the wall however the bed was comfy.room 26 Our daughter and her children came over to have tea and a snack around 5, I had to go and fine staff to serve us,when they did come they didn't seem very happy The hotel was quite busy because there was going to be a wedding on Saturday so I suppose the staff were under pressure but none of them seemed to be very cheerful That evening our son and his wife joined us for dinner they had the 3 course set menu. My husband is coeliac which we informed them on booking and apparently that wasn't a problem they just changed the bread with a gluten free roll(which was dreadful ) boiling hot straight from the microwave it couldn't be touched and when it cooled it went stone hard, after asking we were served with rolls too but every one of them was stale and stone hard Most of our meals were fine the fish was delicious ,unfortunately my husband had the lamb which was tough the whole meal was uneatable, the only pudding my husband could have was the cheese plate with a gluten free roll this again came up with the boiling hot roll which went stone hard and two very thin slices of cheese like substance,(couldn't call cheese because it didn't taste like cheese just a bland substance)with a few black grapes this was uneaten The very nice waitress said she was going to take off one of the 3 course meals my son paid for, but my husband left the table extremely hungry, then the bill came they had to take off the £30 as it had been forgotten. We ordered coffee for 3 and tea for one in the lounge afterwards it was dreadful brown liquid but we didn''t say anything by this time we were fed up. We ordered a paper it didn't arrive, although the breakfast food was actually very good the service was chaotic the restaurant was totally understaffed by this time I just wanted to get home. I called my review which I wouldn't have given had I not been asked ,disappointing as I had intended booking your hotel for early January for a family get together for a special birthday, with rooms and a meal but I couldn't now rely on it, I didn't want that becoming a huge disappointment I realise the £99 is extremely good value for what was offered but I feel that even that was a waste

« Had a lovely time even with the negatives below. »

Room was fine apart from the noise at night since it was above the hall and there was also doors closing loudly for some time afterwards. Food very good apart from bacon which was a bit dried out on hot plate..

Service was brilliant , as soon as we walked in we were met with happy pleasant staff which done everything to make our stay as good as possible, also the hospitality that the waiter staff gave was the best I have ever experienced, the only criticism I would say was that 1 of the walls needed painting and the bed was 2 single beds zipped together but that's just being really picky. I'm really fussy about cleanleyness and I was very happy with how clean the hotel was, and breakfast was the best! Overall the stay was exelanr and I will be going back.

« Very bad experience, extremely rude receptionist »

I paid and booked the hotel for my daughter's wedding. The receptionist was rude almost aggressive, non carrying. My son who has life threatening allergies was , at every sitting and course served food that could cause him analphaltic shock. Our so called suite was like a website from the1970·S. The wedding team lead by Hannah where great. Food was OK, A great venue. I have posted my comments on TRIP ADVISOR. I am not one to complain, however the receptionist and his rude non sympathetic behaviour almost spoilt my day.
