« Nice hotel »

It was a nice experience. The room was clean, large and quiet. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and one sauna, but the hammam was not working. The spa area was clean, but a bit small. I think it's maximum for 4 people. For the check-in, we had some troubles. Even if we made an on-line check-in, the staff messed up and gave us the wrong keys for the room and blocked a sum of money that they were not supposed to. But the problems were solved after some minutes. Also, another issue that even if the staff told us that our room was upgraded to a better one (as we were gold members), we were NOT upgraded. For the check-out, we had a very nice experience as the staff allowed us to make a late check-out (2 pm) for free and was very friendly and polite.

« Just what we wanted. »

We wanted a rest night between travelling from UK and then onward to Southern Germany. We have stayed in this hotel once before and knew it was very handy for the station. We got checked in quickly and found ourselves in a very large and comfortable room.

« Frequent visitor to this good standard hotel in convenient location »

The staff are always professional, friendly and helpful which I appreciate. The fitness and wellness areas are very nice (one of the reasons I choose this hotel) but sadly I didn't have time to use them on this occasion. The rooms are spacious, clean, confortable and have what I need. Aircon was a little noisy this time even though I had turned it off but the next day I was advised that it needs to be set in a certain way to keep the noise more constant which helped. Location is conveniently close to Midi station - I was concerned by the area on my first visit but I have never had any problems getting to and from the hotel at different times of day and night so I am quite comfortable coming here. One small irritation is that after opening a new bar of soap and shampoo and shower gel, I came back the next day to find they had all been thrown away and replaced with new ones. This is incredibly wasteful and unnecessary. I would like to see the hotel implement an environmental policy to reduce this kind of waste for those of us who are concious of our impact on the planet. Those who want fresh towels etc. can still have them with the usual notices to leave them on the floor etc., but I'm sure many frequent travellers are happy to use a towel more than once and finish a whole bottle of shampoo.

Generally good stay - staff very accommodating with our late arrival and helping us reduce the height of our car to get it into he underground carpark. Late night food offering good, but zero choice and very expensive for small portions.

« Just one step down from perfection »

We've stayed in Hotel Mercure Brussels Centre Midi twice during the last trip to Belgium. Both rooms - the first one overlooking Boulevard Jamar ans South Tower; the second one is on the inner side of building - were equally spacious, quiet and comfortable. Air condition worked well. TV sets with USB input. Good wi-fi. Good breakfast - particularly we appreciated the fresh orange juice machine. Tea/coffee facilities in the rooms. What could be better: - the choice of warm dishes was very limited and was the same during all days of our stays. Not a big problem for a short-time stay of course, but anyway... - the bedside table has no drawer so you have to keep your pills on top (though it's quite usual); - no slippers; - the shower in the second room has to be repaired - the water was either too hot or too cold. Despite these minor flaws I would say that this hotel meets usual standards of Mercure hotels.

« A convenient hotel with good sized rooms »

I wasn't bothered about the hotel being on a bit of a seedy street, very close to Midi station, because it is so convenient and the bedroom and bathroom were excellent. A useful place to know and one I'll, almost certainly, visit again. Friendly staff all round.

As a wheelchair user I found the hotel suited my needs very well. Plenty of space to move around in the room and I didn't have to move any furniture out of the way like in many hotels I stay. The only thing missing was milk with the tea making facilities in the room, but when I asked reception provided me with a small jug of milk.

It was unusually warm the week I was visiting Brussels. When we arrived at the hotel the lobby was warm and stuffy. The room also was very warm. A day later I heard that the main air conditioning unit for the hotel was out of service and the staff did not know when it would be fixed. I had a street side room so while opening the window help a little to cool the room it also made it difficult to sleep due to a lot of traffic noise. We also had meetings in the hotel and the conference room was almost unbearably warm. The neighborhood were the hotel resides is also not very nice. The last evening we stayed in the hotel the staff provided us with some fans for our rooms. That helped.
