Dante’s Latest Circle: The Inferno of Parisian Hospitality

TripAdvisor rating 1.0/5

edan291 Business - TripAdvisor review

Imagine, if you will, a new circle in Dante's Inferno, specifically designed for unsuspecting travelers lured into what is ostensibly a four-star hotel in Paris. This was my reality during a recent stay that promised luxury but delivered an experience so dismal it could only have been concocted in the deepest recesses of hospitality hell. The saga began with an unwelcome twist: a reservation mishap that seemed a mere hiccup but was, in fact, an omen of the chaos to ensue. The first night, spent in a room that bore the stark aura of neglect, was a prelude to the farce that awaited me. Charged a princely sum of £600 per night, I expected a haven, only to be greeted by a space where cleanliness was evidently not a priority, and comfort was a concept as foreign as a quiet night in this establishment. The morning brought no respite, as I was evicted from my temporary cell at 11 AM, with the promise of a better room—a promise as hollow as the hotel's claim to four stars. Thus began a purgatorial exile, wandering Paris with my belongings in tow, a displaced soul awaiting salvation at 4 PM. When at last I was granted entry to my new quarters, any flicker of hope that this room might redeem my stay was swiftly extinguished. The layout changed, but the essence remained—a testament to despair, with a bathroom so cramped, using it with the door closed became a feat of contortionism. The stench of chemicals hung heavy, a failed attempt to mask other, less identifiable odors. The view from this urban abyss offered but a teasing glimpse of the Eiffel Tower, obscured by the grim facade of the city's less picturesque reality. It was a view that captured the essence of the hotel itself: a promise unfulfilled, a facade masking decay. This hotel, masquerading as a beacon of Parisian luxury, was more akin to a stage for a tragicomedy, where the guests are unwitting actors in a play of dashed expectations and despair. In a city that sings odes to beauty and romance, this establishment hits a discordant note, a reminder that not all that is advertised shines in reality. Reflecting on my experience, it's clear that this hotel does not just occupy a physical location in Paris; it holds a place in a metaphorical circle of hell, reserved for those who deceive travelers with promises as empty as the hotel's soul. In an act of magnanimity, I award this establishment a single star, not as a token of what it is, but as a reminder of what it could never be. May future travelers heed this warning: in Paris, a city of light and love, darkness lurks in the guise of a four-star hotel that would be more at home in the depths of Dante's imagination.

Dont do it

This is a tourist trap! Do not fall for it!!! The lobby seemed very nice but once you hit the hallway you feel it getting less nice. Then you get to your room and it smells a little. The shower head hits your waist. It has cinderblock walls. The only thing going for them is the view, which you have to go out on the patio to get. There's gotta be a better location than this that gives you your money’s worth. Also beware for restaurants nearby. Tipping isn't a thing in Europe, but they know it's a bunch of tourists so restaurant staff ask for tips. People make living wages here vs the USA. Keep that in mind.

One of the worst experiences ever! Sorry rooms, half of the things broken, extremely non professional staff, touched our dog instead of checking us in,staff in the restaurant simply doesn’t speak enligh. When we’ve checked in,the toilet still has loads of toilet paper inside ,the room was dirty and we’ve waited for 40minutes to change the room. Asked for refill the water in the room 3 times and got it in 1.5 hours after I went down to reception 2 times. The only good thing is the view. 2 star hotel, definitely not 4
