I stayed for 4 nights because of a business trip and would stay there again, if I'll come back to Bangalore. The service during breakfast and in the restaurant was very good and also the cleanness in the room. The room itself looked a little bit used, but got everything you need. Bed was comfy, only the A/C was a bit too loud at night and unfortunately it wasn't possible to adjust the intensity - only on/off. At all, it was a pleasant stay and would come back.

Service was superb. Quality of amenities in the room was excellent. The approach and responses of staff were warm and welcoming. My only quibble is that in house dining food is terribly overpriced for the quality and quantity. Also, it would be great if the front desk had self serving/on demand tea or coffee facilities, plus cookie packs. if each room had a fruit top up. It’s such a pain to leave the room in search of fresh fruit when we need it. Otherwise all was excellent. I would specially like to mention the staff who helped us when we were staying there.

From the moment I arrived to moment I left the team couldn’t do enough to make sure my stay was good. Special mention for Utsab and Sai in 12th Main Resturant for exceptional service. The hotel offers 2 restaurants, a pool and gym facilities which is everything you need for a long haul trip. Looking forward to returning already!

« Good location, rooms and amenities but very poor service by staff »

1. Location, room, and amenities in the room very good 2. But service is very poor. 4 examples: a. Room was freezing cold, after requesting twice - an engineer came in and said the AC can't be put at 24 C - it can only be 20.5 C or below - or I can switch it off. Never ever heard this in any professional hotel! b. I could have checked out 1 day earlier (staying 2 nights instead of 3 booked) due to a change in business travel plan. Room was booked at Accenture Corporate rate. But I was told by the front desk (and the Manager) that the T&C of the booking needs me to inform any change 48 hours ahead, else I'll need to pay for all 3 nights as booked even if I stayed 2 nights. It was never mentioned in the booking anywhere - and I never heard of this in any other Accor hotel when I already stayed 2 nights (1 night charge is usually done in case of no show). c. The basin in the bathroom got clogged repeatedly d. Unhelpful staff in the 24-hour restaurant for breakfast

« It's not bad, but could be better. »

1) Bad smell in the hallway / room perhaps due to old / damp carpet. 2) You provided me with two bottles of drinking water every day, which is excellent. However, in my last two days, no water was provided. The teabags consumed were not replenished during those two days also. 3) Some of the dishes (breakfast) is very salty. Please ask the chef to take it easy on the salt. 4) Very slow check out process. Should follow other international hotel chain to provide a preliminary invoice under the door. It will reduce the time taken by the guests to check the invoices during check out.

Even with special instructions for balcony room the room was not allocated and had to be swapped with my colleague. Rooms, food and stay was always excellent. Checking out and vehicle arrangements even after pre-booking were delayed and very disappointing.

« Good experience, but the first night was spent on a cheaper room than paid for »

The overall experience was good, but even though I ordered a room with kitchen, I got a regular room and was only relocated after one night, though I didn't get any refund or some compensation for spending one of the nights on a cheaper room than what I paid for. The gym was less than anticipated with some missing equipment.

The hotel stay was very comfortable. I particularly enjoyed my interaction with the manager there- Mr. Mounish (sp?). After a long day at a client site, it was nice to see a friendly face inquiring us how our stay can be made better. I casually mentioned that I did not like the chocolates in the room. In about 15 minutes- he had arranged for finest hand made chocolates for us- that is what superior customer service is about. And this was around 2 am in the night. Next morning we saw him again at 7 am- with the same smile, non tiring attitude.

All the staff are really friendly and helpful. The rooms, food and pool area are very good. The gym could do with an upgrade, but that's proabably the only major change needed.

I visited Bangalore on a business visit and stayed at the Grand Mercure for 5 nights. This was my 4th stay at the Grand Mercure. I must stress how thoughtful, friendly and ever willing to help the staff is. I was traveling alone and each day during meals (whenever I dined in), a manager would come over to talk to me to make me feel at home. Also, they helped me from everything to finding ribbon (for gifts I needed to wrap) to helping me package a liquid desert for the flight. The food at the hotel is very good. Breakfast buffet includes a good spread of both Indian and western cuisines and you have the choice of customizing as well. Both the restaurants on 12th main and by the blue have good service and tasty, well portioned meals. In room dining in particular was presented well, and I never had to call back for missing cutlery or similar. I would not hesitate to recommend the Grand Mercure to anyone visiting the area.
