« Staff pleasant, quiet place to stay. »

We booked two rooms, on arrival I had to ask for the used toilet paper on the floor in the bathroom to be removed in 1 room, then later in the evening my daughter had a bath and there were cherry pips on the floor (different room), we hadn't had cherries. We did find the staff very helpful, polite and friendly!

Our stay was a lovely experience from the start. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was amazing with comfortable furniture, spa bath and a lovely private outside area. Room service was efficient and food delicious and well presented. The decor suited the beautiful environment. It was lovely to stroll around the complex enjoying browsing in the Jewllers and checking out the hair salon. The amenities of the swimming pool and the well resourced gym provides the full package.

The apartment was the perfect place to stay before and after my trek on the Abel Tasman trail. The apartment was clean, comfortable and spacious. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. My luggage was stored and waiting for me when I returned from the trail. I highly recommend a stay at this location when visiting Nelson.

We were quite astonished at the off hand manner of the staff at Check in and checkout. The restaurant staff were the exact opposite and could not have been more charming. The room we had was a disabled one which had its drawbacks with a wet floor etc Also the room was very dark probably a function of design and low lighting.

I was a little bit disappointed I couldn't be accommodated in the restaurant for dinner and had to settle for room service, not quite the same. (Can I suggest a button to book dinner in your pre-arrival, welcoming email?). At breakfast I had to remind staff I had ordered 2 poached eggs. Slight slippage in service, but not enough to push me into going somewhere else (yet!)

The Mercure is just a short drive from Nelson Airport. It is an attractive & quaint property. Our suite (for 2 couples) was large and comfortable - 2 double bedrooms with walk-in wardrobes, 2 ensuites, spacious dining & living area leading to a courtyard, well-equipped kitchen.

The grounds & gardens were beautifully kept, and the accommodation was clean and tidy, but there was not enough space on the couches for the 4 people the apartment slept, and the couches were very hard & uncomfortable to sit on. The TV was very small and hard to view from both seats in the living room, could do with an upgrade. The curtains didn't cover the windows fully in the bedrooms so as soon as the sun came up, the room was very bright which made it hard to sleep in at all. Staff were friendly.
