The staff were very polite and most accommodating. The room was neat clean, but larger bottles of free water would be more useful in the rooms, particularly if you are only staying for a short time. The tiny bottles of water that were supplied were used up very quickly. The proximity of the hotel to restaurants and shopping was great.

Everything is okie except a mischarge of minibar item

I stayed 2 nights from 26 to 28 August. Everything is satisfied except that I feel I were mischarged a can of beer in mini bar. I paid it already. Long story short (as I will explained later), please have put in place a procedure or whatever to make sure guest have signed or agreed to be charged in the mini bar. Otherwise, even I am sure that I did not use any item, a simple receipt signed by room keeper (without any proof of my consent) can show different story. Here is the story. First night, I stayed in room 304. I did not open any can of beer. Early morning next day, I returned the key room so that hotel could check me out of room 304 and changed to room 311 (upgraded). When I checked out on last day, I was informed that I have used a Hanoi beer can on first night. There is a receipt signed by room keeper about that. I absolutely have nothing to argue about that. So as not to waste of my time over a 3 USD can of beer, I paid. But I am dissatisfied.

The people are friendly (specially from restaurant); the rooms were very clean . Management and staff definitely went out of their way to make this a pleasant stay for us. And the breakfast (even restaurant) with great service. I like the location of hotel because it was easy go to the main train station where I can take a train to go to famous place around Ha Noi capital. During our stay in Mercure Hanoi La Gare we checked in and out three times. We were joining different tours around Hanoi - a trek throughout Sapa with a home stay and an overnight stay in Halong Bay. The staff made the check in and out process absolutely seamless, held our luggage, made sure our laundry was returned on time, always smiling and friendly with the staff having very good English. There was a great variety of food at breakfast with very friendly staff. We even stayed in for dinner one night, which was delicious. We would definitely return to Mecure when we are back in Vietnam.

1. Upon arrival, fast check-in with front office staff who can speak English which is a relief. 2. Rooms and toilets were clean. Except for toilet sink that has water seeping out whenever the tap is on. I had to put a towel at the side of sink to stop the water from dripping to the floor. 3. F&B team were attentive especially Khanh Vu who was very observant. He changed our pate of salted peanuts to unsalted peanut....without us asking for it. He must have observed that we took one bite and did not touch it anymore. He asked about our opinion of the food and service after we finished eating. Recommended wine to go as well. Happy customers!

When we arrived there was an electrical issue and we were moved to the Pullman Hotel Hanoi for the night. Although the hotel was nice it was not in a good location, we had to walk 30 minutes to find somewhere for dinner and the surrounding area was dirty, dangerous and not a location we would ever pick. When we returned to the Mecure the staff at the Hotel were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was average with very small rooms, in particular the bathrooms.

I recently stayed there on 2 separate occasions. The hotel was great and only a short distance from the railway station. They gave me an upgrade on my 2nd visit and a late checkout. A special mention to Mr Lan Le who was a delight to deal with.

Hotel booking system has error

The hotel booking system has error and did not update the change of my booking regarding new dates. Although the hotel issued the confirmation via email, it was not updated into the system. As a result, there was no room for me upon my arrival. The hotel did manage to send me to the hotel nearby and had apologies with a compliment voucher of dinner. While i accepted their apologize, I still prefer to be informed well in advance rather than on the day so that i could find a more suitable hotel for my needs rather than being transferred to an unknown hotel arranged by Mecure.

I had booked a double bed but was given two singles. Thuong on reception sorted out a new room quickly and efficiently. In he end, as the “double” was 2 singles with little padding so there was a hard ridge in the middle, a single would have been just as comfortable. But I appreciated how she dealt with the issue.
