There are not enough personnel at the reception. Upon arrival, I had to wait 5 minutes with no-one at the reception to check in. Then once in my room, I called room service 4 times to order dinner and no-one ever picked-up the phone. Finally I walked to the reception to order my dinner.

« Amazing swimming pool, nice intimacy of a small garden in the room, the staff doesn’t speak English, permanent humidity due to open walk-in shower. »

Big swimming pool, good breakfast with fresh cooked croissant, wonderful Mountain View, good location to discover Provence villages. We experienced permanent humidity due to open walk-in shower next to the bed. Internet is very poor. The cleaning of the hotel (conference rooms and corridors) continues at night. On 11.09 at 00:30 we even asked if this can be stopped to give us sleep. The staff is very friendly but mostly don’t speak English. We had a dinner at the hotel every day but ones we experienced strange case. It is mentioned at the description that the restaurant open till 22:00. When we came at 21:30 we were ready to order immediately but 20 mins we waited for a menu and some one who can take an order. After it the waiter informed that the kitchen closing at 21:50 and we can order only one meal from the dinner menu. Very disappointing!

When we got to reception the lady receptionist brusque told us out room wasn't ready. She asked if we wanted dinner that night and we said we would. She suggested 8on which was fine, but when we went to fine there was no reservation which was extremely embarrassing. The room itself smelt terribly of drains. The receptionist shrugged her shoulders when we told her that.

Spent 5 nights here this time. Lovely setting bit road noise is getting more intrusive even by lovely pool. Very unwelcoming lady receptionist. We are early (about 1 pm) and she told us our room wasn't ready umtil 3pm very abruptly and failed to book us in for dinner even when she asked us if we wanted to eat! Same thing happened last yr. Housekeeping was just ok. Surprised to see an empty sandwich pack on the bed on day. Change to paper cups in the room is sad. Ground floor room had lovely small garden to sit out and very fierce aircon which also blew in awful smell of drains. Setting is lovely and breakfast reasonable but not as good as the novotel in Marseille where we'd come from. Have been to this mercue 3 times now but not made to feel particularly welcome so probably will go elsewhere next time we're in frabce

« Nice stay, rooms average, staff v good. »

The staff were very nice so was the breakfast and dinner we had. Our garden room had a very worn floor and the ‘garden’ was just gravel with weeds and uncut hedge. Air conditioning in our room was very good. Swimming pool very welcome in the heat but sun beds need changing. Because the staff were so good we enjoyed our stay.

« A great experience last year has gradually dropped to an average experience this year »

On this visit the hotel seemed to be struggling even more than on other recent visits to keep up with the number of visitors - perhaps the place is just understaffed. Certain members of the restaurant staff in the evening and surly and not exactly welcoming. The restaurant food while still good, seems to have diminished in quality and choice since last year. The Wifi service is impossible to use in the outer buildings - I have reported this on each of my last three stays, but nothing has been done about it.

« Decent hotel south of France near Aix en provence »

I stayed at the Mercure in Chateauneuf le Rouge for one night. The hotel is nicely located at the foothills of the Saint Victoire. Nice swimming pool ( useful in July !), the restaurant and the hotel are nicely decorated. My room had no fridge, too bad with the hot weather. one big issue is the noise from the road ( major road with big trucks at high speed.

the wifi was not working properly again and as the hotel is on the edge of the 4G network area it is not a good choice for a business trip. I found hair on the towels in my room which were not mine.

Room was clean and in good order, but bath towels seemed very small compared to previous experience. Restaurant was in 2 different places, for evening meal and breakfast. Not clearly signed as to location. Meal was poor, chips were 'soggy' and veal was very tough - unable to eat half of it. Non matching tableware and cutlery showed a lack of pride by the staff. As Accor club members we have stayed in many of your hotels across Europe, this hotel was easily the worst we have experienced

Hotel is located in beautiful place with Nice terrassa and pool. Staff are a bit "too relax" and forget customer basics as helping them with Luggage (No lift available), focus on phone calls, generating long waiting at front desk, looking upset when i request to open parking front gate (I was leaving very early). In a nutshell, nice place but some work to do with customer welcome process

Dinners and breakfasts that were provided were fresh and delicious. The service was phenomenal and house keeping refreshing our towels was prompt. Lovely stay.

On arrival the directions to the room were poor. The room itself was good and clean, also nice pool area. We ate in the restaurant one evening, slow service, although staff were apologetic. The food was mediocre at best.

Nice room and pool.Nice environment.Quiet and relax place.Check in on the site was 12:00 but 15:00 when I arrived at 12:30. It is not practical with a family.All my friends enjoyed their stay and it is an address I will keep.

« Exceeded our expectations »

Our stay at Mercure was the highlight of our Europe vacation. Beautiful surroundings in the Provence countryside, giant modern room, excellent restaurant, wonderful wine (from the winery across the road), nice pool, very quiet (except for a bit of road traffic on the D7N) and very helpful staff. Only accessible by car, but well located -- about 25 minutes from Aix-en-Provence TGV station and in the centre of all the must-see sites in Provence.

« Wifi not working and noisy around room »

My room was in the extension recently build and wifi was not working there. When asking the receptionist, I got a rather rude response and no attempt to resolve the issue was made. My room was also next to meeting room area and until well after 10pm tables were moved in and out of there which resulted in my room being very noisy, working and relaxing was not possible.
